  • @OP in title you only have 1 n in running looks odd compared to post LOL

    • thanks, i think its fixed now.

      • +2

Do you guys do a sausage sizzle out the front every Saturday morning?

        • +2

          All proceeds go to charity!

      • Awesome pricing. Ordered 3 pairs of Asics and Brooks for me and my siblings.

  • This is an excellent deal!

  • +2

Great sale. New Balance Fresh Foam Beacon for ~$95 delivered — great price for this recently released shoes. Too bad it does not have my size.

Not to mention that I am trying NOT to become the runner on the left.

    • Aren't they have stock from size8-14 ?

      • +2

With some sizes missing in between…

    • +1

When you are an ozbargainer, it is inevitable to be "the runner on the left" lol

  • +1

Great deal on Mens Kayano 25's, and in my size too. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Thanks. Great price. Grabbed a pair before they run out.

      • +1

Go to your room and think about what you've done.

    • +1

I'd buy the Kayano 25's without hesitating if only there were other colour options :(

      • +1

The colour isn't too offensive, and its hard even to find 23/24 series close to that price. I would jump on it mate.

      • +1

I don't understand why people care about colours when they're exercising?

        • not everyone wears these shoes solely (pun intended) for running! :)

        • +1

          @shakir99:

          Fair point, shakir.

  • This deal needs more vote

  • Awesome, thanks for the deal. Getting myself a pair of Brooks. Had my Mizuno Wave Horizon's for a year now but always good to have a backup.

  • Incredible deal, got myself some Mizuno wave Rider 21 for just over 100$ while they are normally 200. Thanks OP!

  • I suddenly discovered an urgent need for some new balance 860V8 for an insane price.

    So I bought two pairs.

Now to justify this purchase to my lovely wife.

  • +2

Excellent deal - just replaced my Mizunos for a third of the retail price!

    • How have you found your Mizuno? I tried them for the first time (Wave Rider 19) and within 5 months of using them for running (12.5km every day) they have torn so much on the fabric on top and side of the foot. I have been using Asics Nimbus for a long time and normally get 9-10 months out of the Nimbus on 12.5km daily running (on footpath / road) and they never rip on the fabric. I only replace my Nimbus because the sole has worn out. My Mizuno still have a lot of tread left on the sole, but the amount of torn fabric has my toes and top part of my feet showing and they are not far off completely tearing apart.

      • +1

        Interesting,

I swear by the Mizunos, mine preferred choice is the Wave Creation, I can usually put 3 years on them, running (and preparing) for a half marathon every year. Never had much fabric/sole excess worn in any.

The only Asics Kayano I had was torn after 1 year.

It might be very specific to the way each individual runs.

        Cheers

        • Thanks. I think the trigger for mine to start tearing is when I ran in the rain (they got wet). Apart from them falling apart on the fabric, the shoe itself is great but I have never had a pair of shoes tear that much and I have been a fairly aggressive runner for 12 years now.

Back to the Nimbus for me.

        • @D1977:

I've not had issues with them splitting in the fabric. I actually use mine for cross training (i.e. weights, cardio, cycling) rather than running. I don't really run unless something is chasing me…

I think it comes down to the individual though. I have friends who swear by certain Nikes (cannot recall the model). I got a pair and went through the side within three months.

        • If price wasn't an issue I'd wear Mizuno, but those 50% New Balance sales were too hard to resist! I wear NB 1260 as a comfortable everyday trainer and Saucony Kinvara as a "racer". Asics shoes kill my calves.

        • You are aware that normally running shoes should be replaced every 250-500 miles due to the compression?

          E.g.: https://www.mensjournal.com/health-fitness/when-should-you-r…

Just google : How often one should replace running shoes

Running regularly in one pair for 3 years is definitely not healthy - you might as well run in Kmart runners then.

        • @Lysander: Yes I am aware of this but 8 normally get 9 months out of my Nimbus. I go by feel and know when it is time to replace by when my knees tell me.

BTW, they started to rip from about 2 months.

        • +1

          @D1977:

Well, be careful. One of the businesses I work with specialises in treating people with foot and knee injuries from false and inadequate footwear. When you feel it in your knees it is really too late as by then your knees are already getting damaged.
Ideally, you change gear before the insoles and shoes are compressed so much that all the cushioning and shop absorption is gone.
Also, you want to check whether your foot is pronated or supinated and then buy shoes accordingly to correct.

        • @Lysander:

I can get up to 3 years because I rotate mine.

I buy a new pair every year and it becomes my main one, it is mainly used for the "long runs".

The "old" one become my secondary and I use it for "easy runs".

The third one is kept on my gym bag and I use it exclusively for the treadmill (it has suspension, anyway).

        • @Consumer Sheep: NB 1260 (or Asics Gel-Kayano, or Brooks Adrenaline) is a stability shoes for over-pronators. For New Balance maximum cushion daily trainer, most people might want to wear NB 1080 instead. Or the new Fresh Foam Beacon :)

        • @Lysander: I believe that's pretty much conspiracy from running shoes companies :) Yes most EVA foams lost a lot of their cushioning after a few hundred km's. The newer TPU foams (adidas Boost, Saucony Everun, etc) last a bit longer, but then again people have been running with shoes without midsole technology for thousands of years. There are also those minimalist/barefoot runners…

At the end, I believe nice cushioning shoes are just luxury, which is nice to have. What's unhealthy is bad running form — overstride for example — these are far more likely to cause injury.

        • @scotty:

I am afraid you are wrong. Some of the guys I work for occasionally are podiatrists and shoemakers and have shown me how it works and the effects - I thought the same as you.
And yes, people have been running but also people in the past have had serious injuries. You could make the same argument with almost anything.
Plus some shoes are actually designed to correct certain foot conditions such as pronation or supination.

  • Top Deal!

Bough some nutrition,2xu, socks and anti-blister/chafing…

  • Hi OP. Is it common to have a delay in receiving email confirmation of an order? Been about 20mins and nothing yet, other than the immediate PayPal confirmation. Yes, I checked the email address and my junk folder. Odd

    • +1

      yes

      • Sweet. Thanks very much

  • Mizuno Wave Osaka for me + Asics Gel Nimbus 20 for her.

    Thanks very much!

  • Good deal! Grabbed a pair of Kayano 24.

  • Bought some Hokas last sale from this place.
I know they're running shoes but I mainly use them for casual walking about. Some running although I don't run much these days.
The cushioning on shoes like these are terrific and they're so light for the bulk.
The uppers are very thin so not great for walking in winter though.
    Glad I bought them.

Dammit, it seems the coupon expired on the end of the 29th?

It's still the 29th in Eastern Europe where I am right now, any chance of extending the deal OP? :)

    • I got "coupon expires 29 Jun" too, but the OP has 1 July flagged for some reason.
Pity as I'd actually found the right shoes for once.

      • +1

Same for me…."coupon expires 29 Jun".
It isn't "end of financial year" until the "end of 30 Jun".

        • Just rang them - apparently code was for 12 hours only and has expired.
I guess the end of financial year came a little early…..
