$79/month for 50/25 on a plan?! Or $89/month for the same but no contract?

Aussie Broadband are doing that monthly, no lock in, no setup fee

    This ain't a deal.

    • and they have their own network.

    • +4

This. AussieBB is the benchmark and if you can't do better then don't bother.

    • I found Exetel to be cheaper for me… can you recommend it?

      • I have just ported two services to Exetel…awaiting activation….
Hopefully will be better than current 1Mbit ADSL2+… oh and much cheaper too

        • Thanks. I just canceled with belong 2-3 mbps down, 0.3 mbps upload!!!!! I am thinking to try Exetel

how long should it take for it to be activated?

        • @ets27:
they are suggesting a week or so…..

        • @oz-dxer:
Not too bad. Cheers for that!

  • +2

$64.95/month for 50/25 plan on Mungi. 79.95/month for 100/50 plan. No lock in, no setup fee.

Plus they're a melbourne based ISP, so they respond super quickly to inquiries.

    • which ISP to use for Sydney?

  • +4

    Typical Evening Speeds between 31Mbps

Eep, I haven't seen anyone else that low yet for typical speeds.

  • +1

Exetel are $9.00 cheaper at $59.99 per month with free activation on their 50Mbit 12 month plan.
    $69.99 on month to month.

Same offering of fixed ip and also modem inc on 12 month plans too

  • Agreed that this internet's "speed" will be the speed of light however, what about the bandwidth and quality of service?

  • +1

    Where is the deal?

  • We are super passionate about the response we've received in the last hour. Clearly there was a misjudgement in what people wanted in the market place. We've opened our First Month Free to all plans and the discount code will apply to all setup fees. Meaning the first month will be completely free.

Our Network Performance has been very, very good. We get the quality of service question asked all the time - we've not hd one customer move to another provider based on quality of service.

We know there are cheaper players in the market, but please note that this is a deal to celebrate our Birthday, we've been around for a year now - and whilst most of you have not heard a dime about us, we've only started this type of marketing recently after making sure our network can handle the internet traffic.

    • +5

Free setup on no contract plans is just matching the competition… Competition who has been around longer, are more active on here and with higher advertised peak speeds (as they don't oversell their network).

      Still nothing to see here.

      • I would like to thank you for your feedback, we understand how impotent it is for a company to listen to the suggestions and criticisms. We have taken note and will be brought up with management to resolve this issue to get back on track to trying to provide an affordable and reliable service. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

        • +11

I understand how "impotent" this deal is too

    • You might want to revise your deal title. Titles should be descriptive — so rather than using "marketing speak" and making the deal look like something you would receive in your Junk mail, it's best to include things such as 1) price 2) NBN speed tier 3) contract terms

      My Recommendation:

Lightspeed Internet - First Month Free, $79/mth 50mbit Unlimited NBN Plans, No Setup Fee and No Lock-In Contract (New Customers Only)

Also, might want to check your spelling of Ozbargin Ozbargain :)

      • Thank you for your feedback scrimshaw, we're just reviewing our deal to see what we can do about our pricing, as spackbace has pointed out it is matching a competitor.

  • +7

    From our MD:

We first of all would like to thank Spackbace who provided us some insight into what customers want from their ISP, and what deal they would like. We've had a very quick brainstorming session here at the office and we've been able to re-look at our deal.

We've removed our 12 month contracts for now, and may release them a bit further down the line. It is unfortunate we can't offer free setup on No Lock-In Contracts, but we've been able to have a chat with our upstream partners to deliver this deal for OzBargain.

With our deal being a First Month Free with $0 setup, we ask that you do give us a chance to prove ourselves as a provider.

I've revoked my neg based on the outcome

Thankyou for taking the votes and comments onboard and acting on them. All too often we see businesses retaliate negatively, or just ignore them completely.

I can tell you've obviously all put your heads together on this 1 to achieve what you have, and props for that. I reckon the blood pressure increased as you saw how ineffective the post had become!

All the best for future deals. Remember to check what the competition is offering before posting :)

  • +1

Good price if you're after a static IP.

  • At what stage do you enter the HAPPYBIRTHDAY code?

    • Hi The Magic Pudding, We've just restored the coupon code area. You can pop now put in the coupon code.

During the changes this afternoon, we forgot to update the coupon code part of the form. This was an oversight and we apologize for any inconvenience

  • Fixed Wireless at those prices, too? Not holding my breath, but couldn't tell either way from your page.

    • +1

NBN Fixed Wireless is apart of what we provide, this pricing is for NBN Fibre, NBN Copper & NBN Wireless. We don't provide Sky Muster Services. Also, thanks for the feedback - We'll pop something on the page in the coming hours to show what nbn services we provide

  • How come your field for bank account number only accepts 7 digits?

    • Oh, we didn't put a limit on the numbers. Two ticks i'll just check. It will require you to resubmit the form. Did you want to PM some details and I can give you a call?

      • I've rectified the issue. Please refresh and check.

        • This isn't very encouraging, having a discount code but no box to put it in and a bank account field that wont accept bank account numbers.

        • @The Magic Pudding: We switched to a new form's program on wordpress, there has been a bit of teething issues. I'll process a dummy order now to make sure the form is working correctly.

        • @The Magic Pudding: I've fixed the issue with the bank accounts. It had a "No Duplicate" function against it which i removed.

  • if i found out the it is not up to the speed on the first month, can I cancel the service for free then?

As you are new so I am considering give it a try, if it work out better/the same service for cheaper price I would opt to stay.

    • Hi

Our Services are on a No Lock-In Contract. We do have a policy that we do require least 30 days notice if you intend to disconnect. You can cancel that intention at anytime. If you cancel without notice we do get charged from our upstream provider an administration fee which we do pass onto customers.

      Regards,
      Clayton

Just signed up, will see how it goes.

    • Fantastic Zotech! Happy to have you on board! Let us know if you need anything!

    • Good luck! Please report back regarding peak speeds.

      • Had the connection setup yesterday due to the NBN guy turning up late last week and having to re-book the install.
        Currently syncing at,
        Downstream: 75689
        Upstream: 32568
        FTTN with cheapo TP-Link TD-W9970

        • That's sync speed which has nothing if little to do with your RSP, what are your speed tests like?

  • I wonder how this compares to the Aussie BB deal…

    • Hi Richielsnow,

The difference is their deal is $10 off for the first 6 months. Our pricing of $69 for the NBN50 Plan and $89 for the NBN100 plan is the price we sell the NBN at normally so we won't increase the price after 6 months.

      Regards,
      Clayton

  • Actually considering signing up. How long does it take to churn? Leaving telecube on 26th of this month. Is there any costs for down grading. Would like to try your 100/40 and see what speeds I get for my first month and then the speeds for 50/20. Hoping to churn before that date if not will probably go aussiebb

  • Dear Customers!

Due to the incredibly high demand we've faced for our First Month Free, this has gone above what we had anticipated for! We've unfortunately had to make the bold step to stop the promotion early - never fear though we've always got something amazing on.

We again want to thank the many amounts of feedback received!

    Regards

    Clayton

    • Signed up. Lost a potential customer. Code worked but was advised I would be charged set up fee. No thanks. Take my business elsewhere.
