    I thought I'd post this as an FYI for those not cluey about NVMe.

    I needed to access data from a failed laptop with an NVMe drive— but my test system is last gen & no slot.

    I went onto Ebay & got one of these: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pro-M-2-NVMe-SSD-NGFF-TO-PCIE-3-…

    Worked great, though I did have to do some finagling to get the card recognized in my old tower.

    Moved 3GB of data from the NVMe to an external USB in 20 seconds!

    PS: slot I used is not PCIe 3, but PCIe 2.0 and still, that speed!

    I was impressed, anyway.
