    Adults Books (182882)

    • +8

boycott ebay. i'm sick of this biased shit of ebay forcing me to pay retail price for my adult book purchases

      • I thought eBay Australia doesn’t even allow adult material like that.

      • +7

LEGO above retail after discount. Even above Hobbie Warehouse’s own site 🤦🏼‍♂️

Edit: could not find adult LEGO (unless ages “4-99” counts… sucks to be 100 and not able to play LEGO any more 😞)

        • +8

sucks to be 100 and not able to play LEGO any more

Back to Duplo when you're 100…

        • +3

You know somethings wrong when you find cheaper Lego at David Jones than Hobby Warehouse.

        • LEGO 42062 Technic Container Yard (BRAND NEW SEALED)

          https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/LEGO-42062-Technic-Container-Yard-…

$67.20 to my door is the best i can find.

        • @YogaPants:

          $63 now with PROXY apparently

      • Can borrow adult books from library if you ask librarian nicely

        • librarian nicely

          Personal collection?

        • Usually the librarian makes me sit on his lap to read those books.

  • So so so many deal from eBay at the same time …

    • +10

eBay sell advertising https://www.ebaycommercenetwork.com/au/ - basically, they don't care that the discounts are poor, the more eyes they get on their ads, the more they can ask from their advertisers. With these 5% offs 10% offs 20% offs, we're the product.

      • +7

eBay is borderline unusable without an Adblocker.

      • +5

I wouldn't know. I use an Ad blocker.

      • +3

I wonder if that's a big reason why they cooperate with cashback sites? Because you can't use them without turning your adblocker off when you visit ebay (or anywhere else).

  • +6

    no discount on consoles :(

    • oh, no consoles?

      • yeah, they are under "video game consoles" category which isn't included in this sale

I was hoping to get a switch.

Just bought Sims 4 on Xbone for the missus, matched Big W for 32.

It's 36 on EB's eBay, but they only have it on PS4 (console wise) … It'd be 28.80 to get it through their eBay store tomorrow with free pick up, and could easily return the version we bought today, no harm, no foul.

I know she'd be more likely to play it on Xbox, but I also hate EB and wanna save every cent I can, it's a tough one.

Personally, I'd recommend everyone buy themselves one of these bad boys https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wii-U-White-Basic-Pack-Refurbish…. Just over 100 dollars with free click and collect, the Wii U has a shitload of great games, and is easy as (profanity) to softmod so you can play Game Cube ISOs as well, it's honestly the most convenient way to play some of the best the sixth generation has to offer like Spider-Man 2, Tony Hawk 3, Smash Bros, Wind Waker & Twilight Princess, Mario Sunshine, Simpsons Hit and Run, and so on. Not to mention all the other emulators you can get on there, pretty much N64 and anything prior will run fine… and that's not even mentioning the fact it plays Wii discs as well, AND the VIRTUAL CONSOLE, so many great games that you could get on Switch, or you could get on Wii U for less like Fast Racing Neo, DKC Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, Breath of the Wild, and so on. PS Mario 3D World is really fun too. Wii U is great, leave my baby alone.

I left her in the pool and took away the ladder.

        • -2

          This is not OK.

        • But did you build a fence with no gate around the pool? ;)

      • +2

TIL jv is single. Another piece of the puzzle falls into place.

    • You've actually convinced me.

      • Also make me want to buy one … XD

    • Great story! What sort of storage does the Wii u have for all these games? I remember j had an external harddrive full of Wii games back in the day…

      • +9

Shit, I was not expecting so many responses tbh. Would have expanded and explained a bit better and removed the bit about Sims if I knew people would give a toss about ol' Bessy.

Anyway, there's a built in 8gb of storage on the white ones (32 on black ones, that EB sell for 20 more, so 16 more tomorrow), but you've got a range of options for expansion. Firstly, as the 8/32 are flash memory, there's no option to swap out a built in drive like you can on PS3/4 since there is no built in drive, however, Nintendo was surprisingly good about allowing you to expand your shit. There's an SD card (proper SD, not micro, but an adapter should work) slot on the front which can be used for both Wii U stuff and Wii stuff via Wii mode (basically the system boots into a full on 1:1 of the Wii experience, full menus and all), which means you can shove on The Homebrew Channel in Wii mode and keep Wii U mode completely mod free if you so choose. THC (Ha, never realized that was the acronym, brilliant), can allow you to load shit like Nintendont, which basically unlocks the BUILT IN GameCube playback that is inherently baked into the Wii chips and OS, and run them NATIVELY, there is the odd bug, but 95% of the games I've played on it (a good 70 or so last I checked) run flawlessly, even with forced widescreen turned on by default.

And your other main option is external USB hard drives. Now I'm no techxpert, but basically, the Wii U used older USB tech AFAIK and this means it doesn't output enough power to run certain hard drives that would require another power source. Many modern, more lightweight hard drives, like my own (2tb Seagate Back Up Plus from like 2015) will work fine, but anyway, you've got the hard drives that will work (I think there was an old website that listed what would and wouldn't but tbh it's probably not kept up to date so I won't bother looking and you probs shouldn't waste your time either), and you've got the ones that need more power… for them, there's an adapter you can buy on eBay here's the first one I found, there's probably better and cheaper options, but you get the idea https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-2-0-Female-to-2-Dual-USB-Male-P… and what these do, is send the power from the two sockets into one thing, namely, your hard drive, this cable now allows it to draw twice as much power than it normally would get and can make most drives work fine… this is also why the Smash Bros Game Cube adapter has two male USB plug ins coming out of it, power consumption.

Anywhore. Basically, to make it way more short because that was longer than needed, you can plug in SD cards and USB hard drives.

        • -1

I use and old SSD as an external on the Wii U as it hardly draws any power…

        • @jv: I'm not gonna pretend to be an expert on the subject, but wouldn't SSD's, since they don't have a mechanical, spinning, hard drive, require a lot less power in general, and thus, be more likely to run fine on a Wii U out the gate?

        • @TheDukeOfNukem:

          That's why I used it…

I think it was 80Gb. I had no other use for it as I upgraded to a 250Gb one on my PC…

        • Wow,very informative post! Thanks!

        • Any idea what WUP-101 means in some people's eBay listings? Easier to crack or something?

        • Hmm just tried using code for the black wii and it tells me it cant be used on it

        • @SirNed: doesn't apply to consoles

  • +2

Why is it so bloody hard to find anything on there? I go to the EB store, type DualShock 4 into the search box and get 0 results. I manually search through each page of accessories and there they are. Can't seem to be able to filter results per platform either? What the bloody hell am I doing wrong?

    • +3

When you do a search on the right hand side next to Guaranteed 3 day delivery, click on the post code. Mine defaulted to the USA and changed to AUS and now I get result. Good luck!

      • +1

That was it! Thank you very much!

    • +1

Check the 'postage to' at the top of the page when you get 0 items returned. For some reason it changed to a US ZIP code, no search items were returned because they don't ship to the US.

      • Yep that was the issue. All fixed now as far as searching goes!

    • No idea, worked perfectly when I tried it.

    • +1

      could be a 'user issue'

  • Are any of the Switch games gonna be cheap? Looks like Big W is still cheaper

  • +2

    Baby (2984)

    What? 20% off baby?

    • +4

      King Solomon strikes again!

      • With a sword or machete? Do we account for losses?

  • +1

What are all the normal prices?

  • +2

EB Games already removed some new releases from store.

    • what for? :o

      • +1

So you can't buy them at 20% off…

        • +5

          That's EB Lame.

        • +8

          @astroberryz:

They're just playing games with us…

      • Because they hate being competitive.

        • Because they won't go stupidly cannibalising their own stores just to help eBay remain competitive against Amazon et al.

        • +2

          @OzDJ_:

Agree to participate in 20% off

          Price jack and remove products

          Avoid stupid cannibalising

          Got it.

        • @Putnum: absolutely correct.

  • Lipos?

  • +3

EB Games xbox controllers are now conveniently priced 20% above the cheapest price around.

  • +1

    Worst search functionality ever!!

  • Video Games (139973) don't think EB have that many games on eBay they have already pulled heaps of them

  • +1

Tried to add the code. It says the code isn’t ready yet.

    • +1

      They usually start at 10AM.

    • T&C's say 10:0am as usual.

      • +1

Also nocure has put the times in the correct spot, they're just above the "report" button before you click that one ;)

  • Anyone having trouble getting click and collect to work for ebgames?

    • Wow, thought you couldn't collect instore on eBay.
They must have changed it from the last time I used it.
I am able to select my local store at the checkout page.

      • I can see it is instock at my local but when I select them at checkout it keeps defaulting back to standard delivery

        • If you're having troubles on the first page, it does seen to respect it a bit more on the next page

        • I can see some weird stuff happening when changing the store at the cart but changing it at checkout works for me.

        • Ended up getting it to work after talking to customer service. It weas one particular item causing the issue.

    • Me. Bought headset and selected pick-up in store.

  • Steam controller $48 at EB games. Good price?

  • EB games store link doesn't even seen to work.

  • +2

Picked up Wolfenstein 2 Switch for 63.96, will go return the copy I bought last week later today.

Sure I already was price matching Big W at 69, but (profanity) it, 5 bucks is 5 bucks and I was heading to the shops anyways.

    • +1

Don’t need to justify yourself to us, ha!

      • +1

Most OzB comment of the year right here. Love it.

  • Which games on switch are cheaper from this discount than bigw??

    • Skyrim i think

      • And Wolfenstein 2 for $64 compared to $69 at BigW

    • Rayman is a dollar cheaper.

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

Just got Tomb Raider 2 for PS4, Rare Replay and Halo 5 for Xbox One for $51.16 delivered via EB Games.

  • What a joke jacking up price on a popular item, see below:

    Main Website $1190 (+$35 shipping)
    https://www.hobbywarehouse.com.au/lego-75192-star-wars-ultim…

Through eBay after discount $1273.60 (free shipping)
    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/LEGO-75192-Star-Wars-Millennium-Fa…

    RRP is $1300

Was eyeing this but knew I will be disappointed with the sale

  • Is anyone else only getting 5% off with code?
I’m trying to get a headset & ps4 game with pick up in store total $157 it’s only taking $7.85 off price for some reason?

    • Not to be rude but are you usig the right code? PLAYHOUSE

      • Yes. Double checked, put it in lower case & Capitals same result
Might try deleting items & starting again.

        • Hmmm it’s working only on Sims PS4 game but not Sennheiser GSP300 headset by looks of it maybe they have put it in another category so it doesn’t get discount.??

        • @Ellen007:

          Listed in category:
          Computers/Tablets & Networking>Laptop & Desktop Accessories>Headsets

        • @Expon: ah ok now I see. God dam EB games!! Grrrrr

  • Managed to do click and collect which I don't think they have had previously.

I vaguely remember someone saying there was a way to get the EB points/carrots on ebay purchases. Does anyone know how?

  • Same, the code did not work for me for a Logitech keyboard at EBGames.

  • +2

Rainbow Six: Siege - PC Gaming $19, $15.20 after 20% off

Only one code can be used, so can't use $15 voucher.

    • +1

Game is absolutely a steal at that price. Have put hundreds of hours into it.

  • Anyone got a search link or tell me how to make one without missing or incorrect stores error that some have gotten by cutting corners or did wrong but couldn't be bothered to fix it up themselves?
