    Thanks, bought 2.

    • whatttttt

      these are so expensive lol

    • Hairdresser? If you are, you need the professional one.

  • These are way overpriced and just as effective as a $19 target dryer.

That being said they really throw out a lot of air without getting too hot. (Less likely to damage hair). Definitely quicker (shave seconds off your routine) . Sound is not as annoying as a traditional dryer.

If you can afford it, makes a nice overpriced gift.

I highly doubt that. I haven’t used one of these but as someone with very thick long hair, my parlux dryer (another professional brand) is a million times better than every cheap one I’ve tried, absolutely no comparison whatsoever. Cut my drying time by 3/4 and my hair is straight and smooth enough that I barely use my straightener anymore.

The only way I could see this being “just as effective” is if you had super short hair or very fine naturally straight hair.

I do however, question what makes this product worth $250 (at full price) more than the Parlux.

      • Thanks for your insight, I just ordered a parlux instead of the Dyson.

        • No problem! hope you like it. I just checked and i've had mine for 6 years now, still just as good as the day I bought it. Keep in mind that if you're drying long hair and want it straighter, I definitely recommend getting a round styling brush and learning to blow wave, it makes an insane difference vs a paddle brush or similar.

      • Second the Parlux. Super powerful and fast. I can tell the difference when using underpowered versions in hotels as they do pretty much nothing in the same amount of time.

I have the Advance Light, it's awesome.

        • Good to hear em!

I have the Advance Light, it's awesome.

This is what I ordered :)

      • Parlux are great, suggest you try the $19 Remington Aero 2000, use for travelling, it's unlike any other cheap dryer. For the price it will blow your hair away and makes it difficult to justify anything else. As I said in my comments, the Dyson has many good points and if you can afford it, makes an overpriced gift.

  • Previously THE PROFESSIONAL EDITION better buy… Dyson Supersonic Professional Edition Hair Dryer $349.30 @ Dyson
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/383587

    • But it was a price error that they eventually honored. Don’t hold your breath for that price again any time soon.

  • I bought one for the wife and daughter… Very nice overpriced product. If you can't afford… Regular dryer will do. Same as those who can afford mercedes over a hyundai.

  • This is the most over-engineered item ever. $399 for a hairdryer. Maybe if you're a professional you could justify it, but even then its just over kill. Is it really any better than a $20 one.

    • Almost every salon I've been to uses Parlux, which makes me question just how good these are imo.
