  • I was really excited until I saw debit! So no go for credit MasterCard?

    • you just need a valid 6 digit debit master card number to get a code…

      • Wouldn't the booking have to be made on a debit MasterCard as well? Weird system..

        • let me check.

        • @dasher86:

The Promotion is available to the qualifying and eligible cardholders of Mastercard® credit, debit and commercial cards which bears the Mastercard name and logo on the face of the card. Cardholders must settle payment with their Mastercard after saving the card as payment card on Agoda in order to enjoy the Promotion.

So needs to use card, but credit might be ok! I'll try and see if it lets me register

        • @fruxo:
Despite conditions above, it did not let me register with my credit card. Bleh. Question is whether it's worth trying to register one card and pay with another. Contrary to conditions, but they've already broken them so not sure how accurate.

EDIT: new link in top post does not mention debit card.. confusing promotion. I'll update after I book tonight (if I can find what I'm looking for)

  • maybe can stack with 8% Shopback? Total 20% off?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/389707

    • +2

Percentage discount usually don't add up like that.. but fairly close (total of 19.04%)

    • +1

This (and the similar Amex sale), usually require you to visit the site from a specific link to get the discount. A referral link from a cashback site won't allow you to add the discount when checking out.

      • True that

  • If you don't hold a card, maybe you can use a prefix for a Mastercard debit card from the list

    https://www.bindb.com/bin-list.html

    528013 as an example

    • You need to use a valid card when adding payment through agoda

  • For me it said "NO CODE NEEDED. LUCKY YOU."

  • do you guys whether there are any other codes around for other websites like booking.com or expedia?

    • I clicked the other offers button after signing up and there was a link to an extra 12% off with Expedia hotels and a 10% off code for Emirates flights. Surprisingly enough, it's cheaper for me to book the flights without the code…

  • Confusing promo, but it does show on the final payment screen if it's going to apply.

The card has to be a saved payment method, doesn't seem to apply when entering in the details at checkout/booking. You can do this from the "profile" page while logged into Agoda.

Bankwest (Zero) credit card no go but Macquiarie Debit Mastercard did show the discount. I booked some nights in August with "Pay Later" (and not even enough in the account to pay right now, ie. there was no authorisation sought)and it confirmed the lower price.

    • I can see it at the end by putting in dummy mastercard debit card, doesn't need to be saved. If using mastercard credit card, it doesn't work. Very annoying.

    • Update: if the "Pay Later" payment declines you can then switch to a different card but keep the discount!

  • Can't seem to get it to work, I saved the debit mastercard in my profile and went to pay and can't see the 12% discount being applied anywhere?

Weird it works with my citibank debit card not not westpac mastercard credit card

  • Only worked for me with a Debit mastercard but yes, it works right at the very end of the booking process when you enter your card, expiry and CVV. Wait a moment and then the discount should be applied.

  • Saved me $20 thanks!

  • Thanks OP, saved a further $87.

  • Anyone tried with 28 degree MC with this deal?
