    Does this track my steps?

    • +5

      premium Citizen horological masterpiece

Tracking steps is reserved for digital non-horological timepieces (probably wouldn't even call them timepieces to be honest).

WatchNerd was already taken. You must be new to the watch posts. :)

Are you sure you picked the right username?

        • @Scab: 100%

      • +2

I would call your Citizen a watch. I would call an Apple Watch a watch.

        • +1

          Mind. Blown.

  • -8

Bit of a nowhere watch really, thanks for the deal but not for me

  • +2

That;s an excellent price for this model Eco-Drive.

    • +1

      It certainly is. Thanks PJC.

  • +1

Was more expecting something like this from you, MathNerd: https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-CA53W-1-Calculator-Watch/d…

    • +2

I understand. This does have a perpetual calendar though, so it does do date calculations to determine when to move from 30 to 1 rather than 31. That's got to be good enough :)

      • +1

The perpetual calendar is a very nice touch actually.

Unfortunately I prefer cleaner faces like this: https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-presage-automatic-steel-lea…

This is now my must have feature in an analogue watch!!! I really hate changing the date, even when it's once a month. Had a Citizen Eco-Drive died on me when after a few years, pulling the pin to adjust the date had it come out completely (maybe I pulled it too hard).

I have this very watch bought a few months ago. This was not available in Australia then and paid over $400 from Jameshop or something like that from the US. Great watch though be warned that the day of week indicator is rather small to read and is difficult to read in unidirectional light.

        • Thanks for the review x d :)

  • +1

oh wow it's beautiful, but too big for my wrist. I want some smaller watch to make my hand feel bigger wink* wink*

    • Thanks. It's actually on the smaller side, a lot of watches with busy dials like this range in the 46mm+ diameter.

  • Great deal, quite interested. End date on this promotion?

    • Tomorrow night, 11th July, or until sold out.

  • +1

I love it that you're able to get some OzB exclusive pricing for us.

You know the Citizen watch I want though ;)

Oh, and since then, I've also decided that I want to "invest" in a fun G-Shock AWGM100.

    • Cheers Charlie. Yes I do know the Citizen you want, I'll definitely be jumping on a deal for that if one does become available. Why don't you get this one as well, the Perpetual Calendar will keep you going with its accurate date tracking while we're waiting ;)

  • +1

Great Price for a great watch. I have the E870-S074703 which is very similar, have worn it everyday for about 5 years and love it. It has many scratches on it now though (i'm not careful with it). You won't be disappointed with this one.

    Mine looks like this one:
    https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Mens-Citizen-BL8090-51E-Eco-Drive-Ca…

    • Great stuff Pete, thanks for the feedback. Your watch has the exact same calibre, the E870 so behind the face it's the same workhorse. What a lovely looking watch isn't it?

    • I have the BL8007-55L. Awesome watch. The only problem is I could not set the LTM (local time) accurately. The minute hand advances full 1 hour every time time you turn the crown. Curious to know whether this watch is different..

  • Any chance of getting deal on this one? It has been to $515 through ebay before.

    https://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-stainless-gps-satellite-w…

    • That's as low as they can go at the moment with stock levels. Of course if it does have a sale I/another watch member will be sure to post it.

Ever since getting my satellite wave perpetual calendar is now a must have feature for any watch i get next.

    • Nice! Which watch is this, may I ask? I do have a very soft spot for the Satellite Waves.

      • This one.

Citizen Eco-drive Watch Cc3000-54l Satellite Wave

        • A beautiful watch indeed. Well done.

  • +3

Perpetual calendar is one of the best features with an eco drive watch. I previously got one with this and sapphire glass and chronograph. While I have barely used the chronograph, the perpetual calendar means I haven't had to adjust it in 6 years apart from setting up daylight saving time twice a year. Sapphire glass means that while the band is scratched all over, the glass is as perfect as the day I bought it.

    • How good is it :)

  • +2

Did you post this from all the way over in India MathNerd?

    • +1

I certainly did doweyy. Bargain hunting and deal posting has no boundaries, location-wise or time-wise.

      • +2

Jeez that's dedication, but I would expect nothing less, hope you're enjoying it :)

        • +2

Cheers mate. Yes definitely enjoying it, though I'm looking more at watches than anything else haha!

        • @MathNerd:

That's awesome to hear, stop looking and watches and enjoy the sights!

        • @MathNerd: Casio watches are cheaper there than in the USA.

        • @doweyy: Haha cheers! Horological masterpieces such as this one really are tempting to look at!

        • @PJC: Really? Not bad! Do you have first hand experience with this, PJC?

        • @MathNerd: While researching 54 CASIO Baby-G Watches and 100 CASIO G-SHOCK Watches the Casio Indian website's RRP was significantly cheaper than the Casio USA website's RRP.

        • @PJC: Interesting, I had no idea. Thanks for the insight PJC.

  • I like this one below more, unfortunately, I have missed the sales on this one. ;(

That was certainly an impressive price on that beauty. Of course a deal will be posted if the price ever returns.

  • +1

    Beautiful watch. Great deal

  • +2

My watch repairer charges me $40 to change the battery (about once a every year).

    That's $200 after 5 years!

    • +1

For a normal quartz watch? Daylight robbery!

    • My Casio Edifice EFA-121D-1AV takes two batteries and I am charged only $35.90 in Sydney. I don't know why I keep doing it every year or so.. The watch (brand new) is only around $100.

    • +1

And this is why an Eco-Drive watch is a solid investment. I'd even be so bold as to say it's a high yield investment :P

But in all seriousness, this is the main factor that drew me into Citizen watches. That Eco-Drive tech is amazing and they make some really nice looking watches. This deal is a prime example of one.

  • Does this store provide a receipt that is suitable for GST refund?

    • +2

Yes, this is clearly stated on their website.

      • Thanks mate :)

    • They sure do. A tax invoice and fully eligible for TRS claims, along with genuine Citizen Australia 5 year warranty.

  • +3

wow so much information in a post, Kuddos for your effort.

    • Thank you.

  • The deal hasn't expired yet and the code still works.

  • Fantastic post MathNerd, but I'm hanging out for a little more: perpetual calendar + chronometer, or a slide rule, or something else.

  • +2

Great deal MathNerd, you've really outnerded yourself with that description.

  • +1

Awesome looking watch, love the Citizen Eco-Drive series!
    Bought one!
    Thanks OP!

  • Deal expired? Price shows $479

    • Yes, it's expired. Sorry about that! It was first brought down to $339 for the MathNerd OzB special, then again for Starbuy's Flash Sale over the weekend, and now it's back up to its previous price.
Could you report this as expired, as I can't do it (error: you have already reported this deal before).
