Just spotted this over at HUKD, another 15% off deal is going live over at eBay US in 30 mins time :) Thanks so much to them for providing the info!

In order to use this coupon you must do the following:

Go on your ebay account and go to account settings
Then on left hand menu go to addresses and change Registration address to USA (do not change delivery address)
You should get a message congratulating on your move to the US and then click submit
Then browse on the AU site and see what you want to buy, when you know and have the product page - amend the url to ebay.com (instead of .com.au)
If done successfully you should see the price in AU and US dollars
Add to basket and choose paypal

This Coupon is a 15% discount off a minimum purchase of $25 valid from 5:00 AM PT on July 11, 2018 until 11:00 PM PT on July 11, 2018. The Coupon discount is capped at a maximum value of $100. Moving to US tonight! Again…

    • +5

Instead of switching back and forth, you can just create a second account. This is what I have. Use the same paypal account attached to both.

This way I think you also get better odds at their targeted discounts.

      • same name as well?

      • Do we need to do payment in USD for OZ sellers for these?

  • -1

Ig it's a purchase from overseas (US etc.), just remember to add 10% for GST to any value now… (so only 5% of usable discount)

    • Wait, does it add GST if you are buying from an Aussie seller though, since the Aussie seller already has factored in the GST pricing?

      • No it shouldn't add GST if it's already charged.

        • For American buyers gst should get should not be charged anyway.

    • -1

Not if you buy it locally but only change the account register setting to US FROM AUSTRALIA.

    • If the products only available overseas, its still a 15% discount as well! so if its local or global its still a deal.

You just need to make sure you cant get the product locally with the GST inclusion.

  • YES. So glad i missed out on the 10% offered earlier

    • +4

previous deal was for Tech only - which this excludes

      • There was a 10% off everything last week, I bought a pile of furniture in it :(

  • Just curious what is everyone buying?

    • +1

It would have been 'tech' for me…

  • +1

$100 cap bah. This means around $660 purchase price for maximum

    • +1

It's $100 USD FYI, so max price spend for AUD is ~$900 to get the full 15%.

      • +1

        Ahh cool

    • or use multiple accounts for multiple orders… (if the items are less than ~900 AUD)

  • I think I'll leave one of my accounts permanently in the USA.

  • +3

    Any "non-tech" 1080ti deals? ;)

  • +1

Interesting how eBay US seem to be having more frequent site-wide deals than AU.

    • Their seller fees could be higher? Or maybe just the competition with Amazon US?

      • +2

        Or economies of scale?

  • +13

    lets all buy from officeworks

  • +8

Just Offered a desk chair from Officeworks. Checkmate Officeworks.

  • might as well stay registered to the us ahha

    • +1

One of my accounts parked there indefinitely.

  • +1

Ah bugger - actually makes eBay Plus items more expensive as you now have to pay for shipping

  • Any way to buy from ebay.uk? Or if the item is listed on ebay.com.au all sweet?

    • +2

This code is unique to ebay.con, but you should be able to choose items listed on any site.

go to ebay.co.uk find your item.

then in the address bar replace the co.uk to .com and you are now on the US site with access to the UK listing.

You should be able to search for the item on the US site, but for some reason it doesnt always show up this way.

      Hope this helps.

        ebay.con

        Hehehe… *iseewhatyoudidthere.jpg*

  • Do you get charged 10% gst on top of the price of local AU item ( which already has GST)… ?

    • Nope, GST is only charged on items that are shipped from outside of Australia.

      • +1

…so then you would only get 5% discount on those items shipped outside of Australia…?

        • Yes that's correct. eBay charges 10% on top of all sales that originate outside of Australia now.

        • 6.5% discount

          100% x 85% = 85%

          85% x 110% = 93.5%

        • @RMBC: OH i see……it's calculated after GST is added onto it…i think….

        • @doweyy: wow, they already charge GST in sellers fees and now they're charging a separate GST fee for buyers too??

        • @Zachary:

Yep, due to the new <$1000 import regulations they just decided to charge a flat 10% on all items from overseas.. The sad thing is, is that they actually overcharge GST in some cases..

        • @doweyy:

Could you explain how ebay charge? I'm worried that with the item I bought from Canada there was no gst charge I had to pay but my location was changed to USA as per the instructions on top. I don't want my item to get stuck in customs for not paying GST.

          Thanks

        • @doweyy: I think you might be right…I calculated my total cost to be $64.77805 but ebay charged me $66.18 instead….

  • thanks
couple of kid car seats sorted

  • Excluding the one category I want :'(

  • hmm What to order

  • Can you click and collect when buying from Officeworks using this method?

    • I couldn't from baby bunting,despite being an option locally…
Shipping was cheap (9 bucks for 2 massive car seat boxes, they definitely losing $ on shipping) , so didn't worry me

      • Bought a capsule from baby bunting as well from last time. No local pickup available because of U.S ebay.

  • error applying code to some items in cart… anyone having similar issues?

    • +1

        • +1

yup im on pay.ebay.com right now

    • Weird…. just wanna get some earcups for my beyerdynamics… now its showing "We can't apply this code until you reach the minimum order total." when its over 50 aud lmao

      • Will likely need t9 be $50USD

    • +1

Eligible items exclude warranties and protection plans, as well as items from the Computers & Electronics, Cameras & Photo, Cell Phones & Accessories, Computers/Tablets & Networking, Consumer Electronics, Video Games & Consoles, Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, and Real Estate categories.

  • Thanks. Was able to save $90!

  • Can you use Wish cards to buy ebay giftcards from woolies for extra savings?

    • I don't think that ebay au giftcards will work for Ebay US

      • +2

I can confirm that they will not work. I tried last time and no go :(

        • +2

15 percent is already really good considering ebay au hasnt given a 15 percent off in a while. guess the 10 percent recently and 5 percent off from the cards equal the same as this one anyways.

    • +2

You have already paid. eBay has already collected the GST on your behalf.
