Just a heads up I paid about 50 cents to carbon offset a hypothetical Qantas flight from Sydney to Canberra and that was enough to get the lounge passes =)

    The offset website is: https://www.qantasfutureplanet.com.au/

    • how did you check to see if you got the passes? I registered for passes then did the purchase but can't see anything yet.

      • I didn't get any emails or anything but saw the passes when I logged on here https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/the-qantas-club/…

I had to call the Westpac rewards team few days ago to link my QFF as my points weren't transferring.

        • Hmm i can only see the one i had from a while ago. They did say they had my qff but I wonder if it correctly linked.
          Thanks!

        • @911r: Yeah may take a few days? If you got points transferred I assume it is linked?

        • +1

          @kez36:

Amex transfer the QF point, but Westpac one still waiting

        • @LoveBargain15: I was the same and had to call Westpac rewards…

        • @kez36:

Can i know which number you called? Thanks

        • +1

@LoveBargain15: Oh the number on the back of the card and they redirected me to the rewards team.

        • How long does it take for this to work? Do you know if they have closed the loophole

          • @x853: I think a couple of weeks from memory, no idea if it still works but its been working for a while!

    • How do you made a payment? when i hit pay now it go back to the top of the page.

      • A kind of pop-up comes up to pay, could be a browser issue?

        • Yup get it to work now, next step is to check if i am eligible for the passes.

Will it be sent out automatically?

        • @LoveBargain15: Mine was automatic, but you do have to register here first before your Qantas spend: https://loungepass.altitudeblack.com.au/

          • @kez36: Tried to registered 2 time and pay the offset still nothing come up for the invitation.

How long will it take after the offset paid off?

Tullamarine to Avalon is only 7c though

    • Great tip! Thanks! You could try BNE-OOL for 11 cents :)

Edit: boblim above beat it to me haha! 7 cents Melbourne to Geelong.

      • Sorry for the silly question but I’ve never used the qantas store before, how do you book a flight from Tullamarine to Avalon? It won’t let me as they’re both from Melbourne. Is this even a flight..?

    • Genius!

    Woot!

My points finally came through on my second statement

  • So you get the 80k bonus from westpac on the 2nd statement? When do they transfer it to Qantas?
Generally do you guys close the credit card after or keep using for 1 year to earn qantas point?

    • My 2nd statement was issued today and showed my bonus points on there.
When I logged into my qff account the points were there already.

      • Just curious, on your first statement with the regular monthly points, did you get them on your qantas account on first statement date?

        Still waiting for ours…

        • nah the points on the correspondence from QFF were all out of date.
I had to log into the QFF portal to see the points there as all the emails i had from QFF had my old points balance.

        • I hadn't received my Qantas points for the first statement either.

I called Westpac to enquire. They advised they have a severe backlog in processing that statement period and should be credited within 60 days or so.

But subsequent statements won't be affected. So there's a high chance you'll get points credited to your Qantas account from your 2nd statement before the 1st statement.

        • @stoodamire: Damn… thanks for that.

  • Is this only valid for 'new' customers?
If I have an Altitude account (with wife has an additional cardholder), can she apply for one under her own name to get the bonus points?

  • Do you have to be approved today or just apply by today? I am conditionally approved and have sent off my payslips just now.

    • T&C at the bottom state:

"When you apply and are approved for a new Westpac Altitude Black Card between 16 July 2018 and 5 September 2018"

      You will need approval today.

    • Amex seems to not require approval - given this, you might still be in with a chance for the MC too:

Offer only available to Cardholders who apply online for the new American Express Westpac Altitude Black Card between 16 July 2018 and 5 September 2018, are approved and spend $3,000 on eligible purchases on their new Card within 90 days of Card approval

  • Guys, Anyone know if the Amex Supplementary card is eligible for it's own 40000 QFF upon spending $3000?

I got a Supp card issued soon after receiving the Amex black in the wife's name.

    • It all goes to the same main account, so both card spends tally up toward your total

    • No additional 40K bonus for the supp card, but purchases are eligible towards the single 40K reward.

    • I was talking to AmEx support over the phone and he told me if I got a supplementary card and that card spent $750 I will get bonus 3000 points

  • Offer extended? Westpac says: Offer ends 27 November 2018.

    • Yes there is a new deal too

  • Got a bit of a surprise, I got my MC bonus points before my AMEX bonus points despite meeting the AMEX spend some weeks ago and seeing the 40K in the portal for a while now. Caught me by surprise, I'd have thought MC points on my first statement would be impossible given others experiences.

    • I'm one of those still waiting. I spent the $3000 a few weeks after getting the card. Then received 1st statement. No sign of points. Now just received 2nd statement and still no sign of points.

      • IIRC somewhere after 6 months

    • I think based on some posts above, if you're not getting points they might not have correctly linked your QFF number to the Westpac account … call them to check. I will be doing this if I don't get any points this week.

  • What is the cheapest item to purchase from Qantas to trigger the lounge pass invitation?

    • +1

      See prior posts… Carbon offsets

      • Thanks, going to spend 7c on carbon offset :)

Also, how do we get the Amex lounge pass? Call up Amex or just show the Amex card at the lounge door?

        • Just need to show the Amex card at the Amex lounge.

        • I spent under $1 on offsets and didn’t get the passes. Then I spent over $1 and got the passes after 2 Days

  • just applied through link. received conditional approval for mastercard. Should I be receiving an e-mail from Amex too?

    • Yes

  • Just FYI, Westpac failed to properly link my QFF member number, and therefore failed to pass this onto AMEX. I had a chat with AMEX and the Qantas rewards field was empty. I had to provide my QFF number to AMEX directly.

Heads up in case you are not getting points credited in your QFF account… Westpac probably failed.

  • Had anybody received the bonus points yet?

    • No points, not even monthly normal earned points

    • +1

The amex bonus is showing on amex website and will be transferred 5-7 days before new statement so in our case in about a week.
For westpac waiting the new statement as usually happens on the second statement.

    • Received my amex points pretty much as soon as i hit my $3k limit but still waiting for the westpac points to come through, received the normal 2550 points for normal spend but not the bonus 80k. Going by the 2550 I've spent $3200 nearly so the bonus points should come through, how long does it take?

      • +1

Usually second statement for the Westpac points

      • I've spent about $6k on the black mastercard (although 20% may have been Govt charges/rates, utility bills etc) and $2.8k on the amex. Received only standard points so far… First month's mastercard points actually took a bit of time to come in. Now standard points are flowing in smoothly from both. But I get comfort that amex point should not take long after $3k spend is completed.

Anyone who received Westpac bonus points, please report back.

        • My bonus points came in the second statement for both the Amex and the Mastercard, and the minimum spend was made in the first statement for both.

  • Got all amex points 6 days before this month's statement. I met the 3k spend 2 months ago.

This is after i found out westpac did not give amex any qff details and i had to chat to them myself and fix it. This delayed getting any points by a month.

  • I've run out of things to spend on with the Amex, do prepaid mastercard or eftpos gift cards count to the $3000 spend?

    • Wait for the new Ipads to be released. That will soak up the spend.

    • Yes, gift cards from supermarkets and online are fine

    • Groceries, holidays, fuel…how much to spend left and how long do you have?

  • Got my points from Mastercard now, like everyone said, it's after the 2nd statement.

    • Got second statement but not points only the amex

    • May I know was it on the 2nd statement or how many days after? I just got my 2nd Mastercard statement but no bonus points stated. Thanks.

  • I haven't got shit yet. I met the minimum spend around Late August.

However the T&Cs state the bonus points will be credited within 12 weeks of minimum spend criteria being met.

So i'll wait until late November before i start heckling Westpac.

    • Got both the 80k and 40k points a few days ago.

  • I only got 20K points for the Altitude Black card.
    (full 40k points from AMEX)

    WTF?

    • That might be from the Qantas offer if you registered for that.

I got 30k “credit card bonus points”

      • Oh cheers! I just checked with the bank. They said that there was an error processing the points previously but they will come through in the next 2-3 days.

        Yay!

        • I have the same issue as you, 40k AMEX came through but only 20k from Westpac. Did the bank tell you the other 60k was on the way?

          • @railspider: They told me I had another 80k on the way. Will let you know what comes through.

  • Finally after many phone calls to Westpac, I have received my 80,000 points. I met the required $3000 spend in August and then waited patiently for the points. November rolled around and no points appeared. I then contacted Westpac, was told that someone would investigate and get back to me. No one got back to me. I rang 3 or 4 more times with no success. The last thing they said was that I had had an Altitude Black card in the last 12 months so would not qualify for this offer. But I was then able to prove to them that I cancelled my last one in 2016 and they then reluctantly agreed to give me the points.

After what they have put me through, I don't think I will be keeping this card for much longer.
