      • Yeah there are buy it nows for much less than the current bids.

    • haha I knew I seen that username somewhere before, hope he knows what to do to protect himself from scammers.

      • Looks like one of the auctions went over $500 quite staggering considering the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim Fortnite bundles cost less than that each.

        • +1

So he's made himself over $900 off messaging Ozbargainers and asking for their codes..

        • Good lord.

        • @roadeh: actually I think those 3 May have been his own codes. He had a listing for 3 PS4 Pro Fortnite bundle boxes on eBay, earlier this morning.

        • @roadeh: its more than likely the 0 feedback winners will not cough up the funds but there is one with 47 feedback might come through.

        • @benyboy: My code sold for over $200. Cash in my bank account already. So I guess there really are genuine bidders/buyers out there

        • @0FoxGiven: same, but there’s every chance they make a PayPal claim in the future.

        • @theguyrules: Na got the guy to confirm in ebay message correspondence that it worked for him. So m safe :)

        • @0FoxGiven: I was thinking about sending a follow up message asking if it worked for my buyer but too nervous to do that in case they respond “no”.

    • +1

I too received a message from him —》Hey I'm chasing one of the fortnite codes from the bundle. If you can't spare it for free I can offer $5 to $10 on PayPal. I enjoy playing fortnite and missed out on the deal and would appreciate the code.

What a scammer!!!! Maybe should be banned from here?

      • Yeah they’re a real piece of work. They don’t really fit the spirit of the site.

      • Can't stop him from creating a new account though

  • How can you tell if CashRewards tracked my order? My order is on my way but my CashRewards account did not show if the order has been tracked.

    • also haven't got the tracked message yet - would be curious if anyone did

      • Me either.

      • +1

On the Amazon Cashrewards thread, TA mentioned that it will be tracked 4 days after shipping.

        • Thanks for that!!

        • +1

its already showing on my Cashrewards account this morning. delivered on wednesday.

        • I have one tracked out of 3 but is a different amount from my order.

Don't know why there's problems with Amazon tracking, I click the same way I do with Ebay.

        • @astroberryz: They are excluding GST.
          That's why different amount likely.

        • @theguyrules:
Yep I just read your comment below about it.

Interestingly they tracked the small amount first and not the bigger amount purchase, and it was shipped together.
Will wait a few days and see.

  • Anyone else’s order saying It was meant to be delivered yesterday but hasn’t arrived? I spoke to amazon though chat and they said their end says it’s meant to be delivered today (why would their end say something different to my order status?). Tracking hasn’t updated since Tuesday which is strange.

I ordered something the same day which they had posted a day later but it got delivered today, not sure how that works.

    • It all seems a bit messed up to me at the moment:

Amazon's website had my delivery listed as Thursday (today)
      - On Tuesday night I got a text from AusPost saying it was going to be delivered on Wednesday
      - On Wednesday morning my parcel arrived
      - On Wednesday afternoon I got an email saying my parcel would be delivered at 8pm.

      Go figure.

    • You get one month free Prime because of it.

      • What do you mean?

        • Got an email saying due to the overwhelming response, your PS4 is delayed. We apologise and extending your Prime sub for an extra month.

Chat said same thing too trying to get $10 out of them.

    • Same with me. Was supposed to be delivered yesterday (18th), but the tracking with amazon and auspost still has the last scan point in Chullora.

  • I bought one for my son's upcoming Birthday. Can someone explain what is fortnite skins? What else do I need to buy with this PS4? will it work with PS3 controllers? what games are good? he is 13yo. Is VR worth it?

    • +1

It comes with 1 Dualshock 4 controller. No your PS3 Dualshock 3 controller won't work on a PS4. It was only $39.95 on Prime Day and $49 at a lot of local stores such as Big W, JB etc a few weeks back so I guess that's what the market like if you can wait.

      • yes unfortunately I missed that deal!

    • +1

fortnite is the most played game in the world. when most people say 'fortnite' they mean 'fortnite: battle royale' which is a free game where 100 players are dropped on an island, and the last person standing wins. they make a lot of money on in game transactions.

      http://au.ign.com/articles/2018/07/18/fortnite-has-reportedl…

your son will probably enjoy the game, as it's mostly aimed at teens.

a 'skin' just changes how your character looks in the game.

don't buy PSVR. my understanding is there is one stand out title (resident evil) but it is likely too scary/adult for your son.

  • +1

Can confirm codes are going for decent money online. I don't play Fortnight so I put the code on eBay, some bloke paid $150 for it last night. Don't sell them to anyone for cheap.

    • Wish I had the foresight to list it last night! They are losing value fast.

      • Mine is almost at $80 with 2 days left, set it for 3 days. Smashing!

        • eBay is risk to sell any kind of digital item with PayPal you will lose if the buyer opens a dispute or does chargeback with their cc company but if you post off the booklet with proof of tracking then you stand more of a chance of winning the dispute.

          https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#…
S5.1 The PayPal Seller Protection Policy will not apply to a transaction if:
          The item sold is an intangible good, travel tickets, quasi-cash, gift certificate, downloadable or streaming content, licence for digital content or a service;

I sold mine on eBay for $100 but my listing does say Australia only and yet a guy with 2 feedback from the UAE bought it and decided to waste my time by not paying. So I didn't relist it again on eBay.

I listed it much cheaper on Gumtree and took a bit of convincing (with my eBay account with 600+ Feedback) that I was a reputable seller and that I wouldn't redeem the code myself and that I would send as soon as the funds clear into my bank account which it did and it was a done deal.

Not trying to scare monger but just a warning for anyone accepting PayPal for the transaction, use bank transfer if you can, the best is face to face transaction but its not always possible.

        • Sending you a DM Benyboy

        • @benyboy: Yep, can happen.

  • +1

    ****JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW*****
Yes, I have messaged people looking for a code for my brother. I am happy to show proof that I am not reselling and in fact I am going to be loading the skin directly into his account. Happy to provide photo proof. Not trying to scam anyone, just trying to get the skin for my little brother.

  • If anyone is selling the fortnight code please pm me, prices are ridiculous on eBay and I don't want to buy a ps4 to get it. Pls help me out

  • Can anybody tell me what firmware is on these Fortnite bundle PS4s?

    • 5.55 is what my PS4 Pro came with.

  • would you rather keep a PS4 500GB Days of Life limited edition (few weeks old) or a PS4 Pro 1TB Fortnite (unopened)?
will you open the pro, play then resell? The Days of Life is very good looking, hence want to keep. This edition is selling at good price on eBay atm. But I hear the Pro is a lot faster.

  • Still waiting for mine to arrive shipped Tuesday Amazon tracking said delivering Wednesday but last tracking showing Wednesday morning in Bendigo about an hour away. Maybe I should speak to Amazon cs.

  • Amazon must hold your order back if you have made subsequent orders a day or two after the initial order as all of my orders are now showing as in town for delivery today.

    • +1

dunno, maybe location specific? personally i'm in sydney cbd and i made multiple orders that day and everything was delivered completely separately (and very quickly).

    • I placed thirteen orders and I got them in 3 pacakagea total.

      • They combined my orders on the same day too. Arrived in one huge box.

  • +2

Got my pro after 2 days. Very happy. Menus feel alot smoother.

  • +1

UPDATE: My package has been “lost in transit” aka dodgy Fastway has stolen it like they did my partners laptop last year. Getting a $20 discount so eff cricket paying $349 after discount plus $10 credit

    • Had to re order it again but forgot to use cashrewards. Hopefully it tracks the first order even though it’ll be refunded ?

  • got the cashrewards tracked message just now

    • Yeah I got a few tracking emails today :)

    • How much did you get? My CR tracked on $344.55 rather than $379, but they do caveat that it might not be inclusive of GST, which would be roughly the difference?

      • I got the same tracked amount of $344.55($379) and also for the controller $36.36($39.99) which looks like its not taking GST or something else into account.

        • Yep, excluding GST.
          Bit crappy but oh well.

        • Yeah cashrewards terms state they don’t take into account gst, shipping etc.

  • +2

Got my Pro Wednesday. Wish it was the white one but at this price can't complain. Fastway lost my God of War disc. Thankfully Amazon refunded and gave me another one, same price, sent priority. Arrived today just in time for the weekend!

  • Got mine oh yeah

  • Damn, with the codes selling for so much I'm disappointed i didn't buy myself one. I had so much self control, had it in my cart till the end of prime day for the $379 but told myself I didn't need it. Oh well, not enough time to play anyway. Just gotta keep telling myself that.

  • +4

    My top 3 life regrets.

    1. Not asking that girl out in high school.
    2. Not bitcoin mining when I learnt about it years and years ago.
    3. Not buying this PS4 Pro
    • mine was selling the fortnite code too early and went with $20…

      • oh no.. Few ozbargainers were asking it for free or $5 in private msgs. I almost did it. Glad I looked in ebay before doing so.

  • +3

Gee, my Fortnite code went for $140 on eBay. Nuts!

  • +1

Sold my fortnite code for $150 on Gumtree via paypal family and friends payment hah this is insane. A PS4 Pro for $200 - yes please

    • I tried gumtree. Everyone want the code first. Eventually I sold it in ebay for $90 and got an sms it is working. Phew.

  • WOW the prices for the code are ludicrous.
I sold mine for $70 regrettably..

    • To be fair, theres like no protection for sellers of digital codes on eBay apparently.

      • can you elaborate?

        • Reading around, buyers can fairly easily claim that their account was hacked, or that the code didn't work, and eBay will side with them.
eBay isn't really technically for selling digital codes. Ideally you need to post them, but it would cost like $20 for me to post mine to the buyer in the UK.
Hopefully not all buyers are scammers but some will try.

        • +1

@theguyrules: Posting won't really help here either - the codes aren't hidden, so the buyer could easily say that it had already been redeemed. Sadly yes, there's very little protection for the seller here.

I just look at it that I got the Pro for a great price, and fingers crossed I can not get ripped off on some cosmetic item to make that an even better price.

        • @roadeh: would it be better to sell on gumtree and even if done via Paypal, you could ask for payments to friends/family (no buyer protection)?

        • @RichDad PoorSon: Yep, way better if you can do that.

      • Only with PayPal payments so just be prepared for anything to happen within 120days - 180 days of the PayPal transaction after that if nothing eventuates then consider it a success :)

        • Will suck potentially losing $200 6 months later

        • @theguyrules:

Best thing to do is ask for family and friends payment and transfer funds into bank account/remove bank details from PayPal. They can’t recover funds that way if the buyer is dodgy, or can they debit your card?

        • @johnnytran: I'm sure they'd debit your card.

        • @theguyrules:

I guess if I ever sell mine I’ll remove my cards and bank account in case they open a dispute but then I’ll be the one looking dodgy… lol

        • +1

This is the reason why I don't trust PayPal in general anymore. Seems to easy for dodgy buyers to make bogus claims a few months down the track for just about any item you sell and usually ebay and PayPal just sides with them unless you go through hoops and even then no guarantee you won't lose your money. I dunno why they changed the claiming policy from what was like originally 60 or 90 days to what it is now 180 days or so. Usually if something is faulty it won't take 6 months or so to stuff up. As for digital it doesn't cover anything.

        • @habib23q:
people used to sell pre-order items on ebay (with 2-3 mths waiting period) which will run outside the 60 days policy on paypal, and sellers just run away with your hard-earned money after the 60 days lapsed (cos you wouldn't be expecting the item).
This is probably one of the biggest reason why Paypal have extended it to what they are now.
I know, because I took ebay/paypal to ACCC for allowing these kind of transactions in the first place (they fkin ignored me when I complained).
so it works both ways fam, but in all case it's usually the sellers who are dodgy, not the buyers.

    • I wouldn't bother with ebay especially considering Fortnite attracts a younger audience which means it would be even more rife with people doing chargebacks and disputes and ebay will 100% always side with the buyer when it comes to redeemable codes. I sold mine for $65 on here and I'm happy. No fuss and don't have to worry about being scammed.

    • The prices have settled down. So you did good.

  • can we still join amazon prime to purchase the ps4 pro now ??

    • Not for this price! it was a short sale.

  • Reckon he/she will get paid out this much money for the royale bomber skin? Doubt it.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fortnite-Royale-Bomber-Epic-Outf…

    • Just saw that too. Pretty sure they won’t consideing you could just buy the console and code for $500~

    • Not a chance.
There's obviously some scammers/trolls on ozbargain.
Wouldn't recommend selling on there now.

    • Showing $91.00

      • The original one got up to $15k and was obviously relisted. The buyer must have told them quickly they weren't paying.

  • Toll delivery very slow

    • never get it delivered to a Parcel Locker, they'll send it to your local post office instead.
btw for anyone wanting a fortnite code, just msg me with your best offer, Poor Son need some dough :(

      • That’s not true at all.
Amazon AU sends it to my parcel locker 100% of the time.
        No issues. 20+ orders.

In fact this was the only one I had to collect from the post office cause it was too big for a parcel locker.

        • sorry, I should've mentioned never send to Parcel Locker for THIS PARTICULAR ITEM ONLY… too big to fit in parcel locker, probably because of the double box

        • @RichDad PoorSon: ah gotcha.

      • Estimated delivery already 3 days ago
