https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/IBM-Lenovo-X230-Intel-i5-3320m-2-6… extra $50 gets you an SSD, newer model CPU and +4GB RAM?

15.6" screen versus 12.5"? Very different offering.

      • Aw yeah fair, still is very under specced by today's standards though

Intel I5 third generation is not much different compared to the second generation. For $45 more we can upgrade to SSD hard drive for you, that wouldn't be a problem. Besides like @carlenet said above, 15.6' and 12.5' are different offering.

        • @laptopbargain:
          It's about a 20% increase in performance, coupled with the +4GB RAM…

should really mention 'refurbished' in the post somewhere.

      Noted, thanks for the remind

15.6' screen would make an awesome home cinema.

  • Hope its not a 1366x768 nausea inducing screen…..

    • seems to be the case…. :(

  • Windows 10 with 4GB RAM, problematic.
    BT 2.0? Museum release…

    • CPU is 7 years old.

According to Microsoft recommendations, 4GB RAM is enough to run Windows 10 64 bits. Many new models only have 4GB RAM still be installed with Windows 10.

We deployed these (when new) at my workplace and im the it admin.

While very old, I believe these are magnesium chassis models, and they are suuuuper durable.

    Old? Yeah.
    Worthless? Far from.

They're a great kids machine, wife machine, or even a 'rarely carried around' semi-desktop replacement.

That said, do anything to get an ssd in there.

    Night and day.

Thank you for your honesty. This laptop despite its age is an excellent investment. Of course its age is a problem, but consider that configuration is enough for casual computing, I would say the price we offer is quite fair. This computer is a perfect choice for people who are looking for a stable laptop with reasonable price.
