  • Does Netflix US work with this?

    • Yes, any US streaming provider will work with this.

    • +1

It has never worked for me, perhaps you need to buy a static US IP address which costs an extra $80 AUD per year.

      • It will 100% work with a Streaming IP add-on, these are included in the 50% discount. You can also pay monthly for streaming IP's.

        • how much is the streaming ip add on?

        • @marantz:

With this 50% off promo the Streaming IP is free for the first two months, then just $5 AUD per month after that.

    • If want netflix e-vpn or purevpn is cheaper than the streaming option. Otherwise I get good speeds with torguard. I use sydney server for web and nz server for bt.

      • Interesting I had purevpn before and never could get Netflix to work.

        • Yeah purevpn can be flaky, they now have a browser proxy which works more consistently. With e-vpn you can connect to any server US netflix simply works.

  • My issue with this provider is as follows:
I had a torgaurd account already.
I was logged in to torgaurd as my VPN
    I purchased a rechargeable cc
I tried signing in while using the VPN.
It kept accepting the payment than said pending approval which never came through.
I contacted support, who said to sign up without using the VPN…

The whole point is to sign up anonymously which they kept rejecting. Their solution was to sign up without a VPN as their system did not allow using the disposable CC with their VPN on. No thanks.

    **EDIT to clarify:
I was signing up a new service for use by family

    • My experience is that whenever you use the public IP addresses that all the users have access to, many sites (including OZBargain) blacklist these addresses as Spam/BOT/fraudulant clients. That's the nature of sharing IP addresses or address ranges to a million clients.

The only way to bypass this is contact them and tell them you are using a public VPN service (as I had to with OZBargain) or purchase a dedicted IP.

      • I agree with you with what you say, however I was using THEIR VPN connection with THEIR server IP.

They kept telling me to use my real IP to sign up. I took my business elsewhere.
How can they claim privacy when you can't even sign up anonymously.
Furthermore, the CC was debited too. I could not check or request a refund as I would than need to provide private information for both the CC provider and torgaurd.

This happened twice. The first time I contacted the rep Online chat they told me it must be my browser, I than signed in again (Cc was debited twice) and it rejected. He explained something about their payment protection system wouldn't allow it.

I had to purchase another Credit card, use their VPN and signed up with another provider with no issue whatsoever.

I don't care much about the $$ or anything other than I don't trust their privacy if I can't even sign up to their service with their own IP. They obviously log / check how and when you sign up (rightfully so in regards to getting payment) but what happens after the payment? What if you genuinely did use a dodgey payment method?
If you can't use an anonymous mean to sign up for a private VPN it rings alarm bells.

        • We offer a number of anonymous payment methods like cryptocurrency (Monero), Gift cards, and local cash prepaid options. No name or address is required for these methods.

For fraud prevention purposes sometimes paying with a credit card via VPN/proxy can trigger a manual review. If you are using a prepaid credit card make sure you register a billing address with the card vendor and use that on signup.

        • @TorGuardVPN:
Little too late now, maybe you should be providing this information during sign up, or before you debit the Credit Card.

Like I said, it was Your own VPN IP.

The disposable card was also purchased via cash, no need to register anything for its use. The manual check did trigger (I mentioned this before) but the work around wasn't 'manually checking' it was to sign up again without the VPN on, after debiting the card. Surely the manual check would delay the debiting process ? I am no tech wiz or understand how it works on your back end, but I was bitten twice and the fix suggested by Torgaurd was pretty much telling me 'dont be anonymous while signing up'

I keep my stance on this. I'm glad you provide other anonymous payment methods, and I really hope you are genuinely no log, anonymous VPN and your subscribers are happy with your service.

          @Iwannagiv:

We recently updated our website and have a clear listing of all payment options on the bottom of each page.

Prepaid credit cards can be difficult to use from time to time. Any pending charges that did not authorize would automatically be credited back after 2 to 3 days. If you are having trouble and getting an error when paying with prepaid credit card, try submitting cc payment through paymentwall.

For highest levels of privacy during signup we suggest paying with crypto currency.

        • @TorGuardVPN:
Kudos to you, I see the important information warning about the credit card behind proxy/VPN during the payment options now.

Not everyone has cryptocurrency. Again I genuinely hope your stick by your privacy policies for the sake of your subscribers and appreciate your responses.

  • I'm an existing subscriber and have the 50% discounted plan for life, including a dedicated IP adress for Netflix and the mini router.

Given my plan will auto-renew with the 50% discount in 12 months time, is there any advantage for me to take any of this offer up? All I'd be getting is an extra mini-router + maybe two free months of dedicated IP…maybe…?

    Thanks!

  • Hi, yes you could still take advantage and get two months free streaming IP for upgrading in advance. For the free router promo you can upgrade to the Shadow router for an additional $AUD 10 if you want a slightly faster processing speed. Our support desk can fill you in on the details.

    • Can you confirm the model number of Shadow router? Is it GL-AR300M?

      • Yes, correct. We are offering the upgrade opportunity for $AUD 10. You can reference this thread in your request :)

    • I contacted TorGuard online chat and the rep doesn't know about this upgraded router under the promo

  • Rep. so why didn't your tech support help me and fix my Vpn issue

    • TorGuard tech support is always online and available to help fix your issue. Please contact our livechat or email the support desk at: [email protected] so we can resolve your VPN issue immediately.

  • Can anyone compared TorGuard with PIA for me? I've been using PIA for a few years and am quite happy but renewal is coming up. I'm on 50/20 HFC and using a VPN mainly for torrents. I'm happy with an Australian server and speeds of 5MB/s. I'd use a Windows client and an iOS client. Thank you.

    • +2

I was using PIA prior to Torguard and had no complaints. I swapped over purely so I could get a dedicated IP for US Netflix streaming. None of the PIA (nor probably any VPN provider's) public servers work with Netflix. Plus the 50% off deal made it more affordable. I did a fair bit of research into the best VPN providers for Netflix and whilst ExpressVPN and NordVPN were at the top of the list, Torguard was more affordable (with the 50% deal) and was recommended on the NetFlix/VPN reddit forums.

I've been with them for a year now and will continue using them. My only complaint/suggestion would be to add an Argentia IP address to the mix (for cheaper XBox marketplace purchases) :-)

      • I don't use Netflix. Occasionally BBC iPlayer use would be nice but I wouldn't pay extra for it. Thanks for your comment.

  • I signed up but I can't find anything about the free router or 2 months streaming IP?

  • does the mini router works with vdsl , I.e. fttn ?

  • +2

US$10 flat rate delivery fee for AU residents? Why was that not mentioned in this post?

    • yeah they told me after I paid for the subscription

  • +1

If you ordered the router then they know the address associated with the VPN subscription? Possibly defeats the purpose of using a VPN?

    • +1

We can ship to any address, including PO Boxes.

Registered users may request removal of all personal information (including a shipping address) at any time by contacting the support department.

    • but no data log in usage?

  • Hi rep, I would appreciate if you would respond to my PM enquiry.

    • Replied!

  • I need a reply too Rep, maybe I have voted positively too early :(

    • Hi, apologies for the delay. I have replied to your PM questions :)

  • Fairly keen on signing up, but more so would prefer to try out the services first. Website mentions a free 7 Day Trial, how do I go about accessing the trial as there seems to be no links to it etc…

  • Hi Rep: I've signed up using the promo code; there doesn't appear to be anything in the welcome email about the router? Do we need to do anything to arrange it being sent?

  • Hi Rep, why is the netflix add on showing as $7USD not $5AUD as stated above? I have a semi-annual plan currently. The promo code does not work for the add on

    • Hi, Please contact our support desk and they will pro rate this promo for you.

  • Can I verify this does include the Proxy service as part of the deal? When I go to the linked web page above it is not mentioned, it only talks about the Anonymous VPN service. But in the original blurb above it says
"Socks5 + SSL Proxy Access Included w/ VPN plan". It also says it includes an encrypted email address. So is actually the "Privacy Bundle" that is being offered. Please confirm.

I currently subscribe to Anon VPN + Anon Proxy + Streaming IP at 50% off lifetime. But this deal would be better for me if it includes the proxy service as part of the $40AUD/year…

    • I confirmed that Socks5/SSL Proxy is available when paying for the Anonymous VPN service biennially (every two years), which is what is needed to get the free router anyway. Price is $49.99USD/2years.

So that's cheaper overall than what I was paying for the annual Anon VPN plan by itself at $29.99USD/year and I can cancel the Anon Proxy service saving $23.47USD/year. Plus a freeish router.

      Yay!
