      • It has so many applications in out day to day lives.
It truly is wisdom straight from God

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth.

    • -5

I think that is Islamic, hence no images in Mosques, just patterns, .

heaven above, earth below, I think that is heaven or hell, these prints are of neither.

      • +6

Is that a joke? Its the second commandment!

Though given virtually no Christians know anything about Christianity (otherwise they wouldn't be Christian!), it's not a shock that isn't widely known…

        • Then you should know that there are no graven images here then!

        • Yes, Christians are the people who never read the bible or read the bible with a close mind.

If you stare at the picture long enough, you will see the number 666

    • +1

666 is the lucky Chinese number …or is that 999 gues it depends which way you have the paper.

    • +1

…or 616. There is some contention since recent textual discoveries.

      It's a miracle.

    • maybe it was a deal that doesn't involve more material clutter being delivered to the door, keeps kids entertained, you can recycle the paper, but some of the other stuff I have bought just takes up room, is non recycleable and we already have 2 years of xbox gold to keep kids entertained.

  • -6

So we don’t allow gun posts but we allow religious propaganda? Who are the ones holding those guns that kill millions of people, religious nutters!

    • +5

      Propaganda…? It's a colouring book, lol

Not sure about your rant, that sounds like true propaganda…..

      • +3

How is forcing these lies upon the most vulnerable, not propaganda?

        • +1

It's like saying a Disney Cars colouring book is propaganda because it teaches kids cars talk… There's nothing pushing a bias or opinion of if it's real or fiction, nothing with further misleading or bias information, etc. Very far fetched, very loose use of the word.

        • +3

@dyl: I have never heard Disney proclaim that talking cars are real. Do kids really think they are?
There is a vast difference between presented fiction containing imagined talking cars, compared to imagined fiction being presented to children as true.

        • +1

          @Major Mess:

My point is the colouring book itself isn't presented as fictional or factual. You're free to believe as you please, parents are free to present it as they please and children can think of it whatever they please. You shouldn't allow someone else's view change how you see a colouring book.

        • @dyl: That would be an ideal world, but as it is coming from a non secular book shop, it comes with the baggage you object to.

        • Lies in your mind

        • @UberIsCool:
Ok UberlsCool I'll give you a chance to meet your commitment under 1 Peter 3:15, plus you could get a Nobel Peace Prize.

Give me your evidence that Christian teachings are not a lie.
Please explain the vast number of contradictions within this perfect book.

How is slavery good? To own another person as you would a toaster, that you can pass on to your children. How is Jesus referring to non Jewish woman as dogs admirable. Why didn't anyone know about the "trinity" until late in the third century. Why do so many bibles have changes. Why does the oldest bible we have not have large sections of what is in say, the King James Bible? Who wrote the Gospels? Where in the Bible does it say that the snake in the Garden of Eden was Satan? Who was the naked youth who ran away in the garden when Jesus was arrested? Why is there absolutely no record of Jesus outside of the Bible? Why had no one heard of him or noticed the Zombies walking around Jerusalem? Why did Jesus say he spoke in parables so that the gentiles would not understand and be accidently saved? How does Paul know things about salvation that Jesus was unaware of?

Here are some contradictions to get you started.
Did Noah take two of every animal into the ark, or was it seven of the clean, and two of the unclean?
When was Jesus crucified? After the passover as in Mark, or after as in John?
Did both of the others being crucified mock Jesus as in Mark, or one defended him as in Luke? (I would go with Mark, Luke turns out to be pretty dodgy)
Did Jesus ascend to heaven the same day he was crucified asin Luke, or at least two days later as in John?
Did Judas kill himself as in Matthew, or fall and have his guts fall out as in Acts?(There is that dodgy author of Luke again).
When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem was he on one colt as in Mark, or a colt and an Ass as in Matthew?
Did Judas kiss Jesus like in Matthew, or not as stated in John.
In John it says the rooster would not crow until Peter had denied him three times, or was it before the cock crowed twice he would deny him three times as in Mark?
Did Jesus carry his own cross like in John? Or not as in Matthew?
What time of day did the women visit the tomb? Before sunrise as in Mathew, or midday as in Mark?
Was the tomb stone rolled back as in Mark, or an Angel turned up to open the door as in Matthew?
How many women went to the tomb? Two or Three? Who was there? Did they tell anyone anything after?
How many disciples saw Jesus when he appeared after the crucifixion
When Paul had his vision of light and a voice, did his companions hear the voice or not? When he fell to his knees, did his companions?
That is all I have from memory at the moment, but you should be able to get god to show you the rest.

$5 off something that is seemingly widespread available, for free, is not a bargain.

    • -2

      Widespread available where exactly?

      • Google images for starters?

  • +1

I don't understand how people eventually realize/accept that Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Boogeyman, Easter Bunny ALL are fake, yet they still delude themselves with the rest of the self contradictory stories/teachings/morals in their "religion" and their religious holy book(s)

To top it all off that, they pass off that delusion and fear onto the next generation

Like bruh, this shit was written THOUSANDS of years ago, by a BUNCH of people (that's right, humans not spacebeard in sky) who HIGHLY edited and were picking and choosing what to include in their poorly written Sci-Fi series and people still use it today to deny rights to the lgbt folk, teach the stupidest "theory" that the earth if 6000 years old because they think that the science is also a "theory" and prevent the use of contraceptives and things.

    • +2

Not to mention, those who wrote it were highly illiterate.

      • +2

…and not as long ago as is "common knowledge".

    • +3

Here's some fun text, who wouldn't want there kids learning all this fun stuff God approved.
Timothy 2:12, in which the saint says: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, she must be silent."
Peter 2:18: "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel."
Exodus 22:18: "Do not allow a sorceress to live." Command of Moses.

So, women shut up, slave are cool and apparently witches are real.
      Pass.

      • It's always out of context isn't it, it's not because it's all nonsense.
A rational thought processes would see it for what it is, a book to control that lacks any factual information. If it had evidence you could prove it true instead you need faith as the proof is not available.

Look at the atheistic hoards acting all righteous and horrible towards others, you wonder what the future holds when the people who think they are the good guys can get so nasty, especially when they group up. The hypocrisy is real. PS: I'm not religious.

    • +3

I'll take "righteous and horrible towards others" over abusing children and covering it up, not to mention the millions of lives lost over the millennia in the name of invisible sky deities.

Hopefully the future holds a refutation of all this nonsense.

        • -2

@tryagain:move along nothing to see here, just some religious material aimed at 5 year olds.

    • Fast and loose with brainwashing!

It's a blimmin colouring pages with fancy cursive religious text. Just copied 3 pages for clarity:

      1-rejoice in the lord
2-Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly
3-Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love for I have put my trust in you"

Couldn't even read it properly, don't know how a kid could get brainwashed from that nonsense. I'm not even religious!

The Bible has been proven to be a work of fiction by astronomers for at least 500 years.

    • -1

      nice source

        • -1

A lot of historians would disagree with you…

        • +1

          @Buckshot:

          About what?

        • @Scrooge McDuck: The bible being fiction.

        • -1

          @Buckshot:

And "a lot" would agree with me. I dare say most would. I doubt that any worldwide scientific census of historians exists on the matter but if you can find one I'm willing to look at it.

Science has proven the Bible to be fictional, not Historians.

Most people do not believe the Bible to be true, and even if they did, that wouldn't prove that it is. There are "a lot" of Christians, Muslims and Hindus. They can't all be right, so the mere fact that there are "a lot" of them doesn't indicate anything pertaining to their veracity.

        • Scrooge, I want to ask you two questions.
          1. Would you become a Christian if Christianity were true?

          1. Are you willing to follow the evidence (whether it is for or against a God) where it leads?
    • The flat-earth cosmology of Genesis was disproven even before Jesus' time.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_geodesy#Hellenic_wo…

      • +2

        What flat-earth cosmology of Genesis?

The Bible doesn’t endorse any cosmology, but instead gives only bare details regarding cosmology that could be understood several ways. For instance, Genesis 1:1 states that in the beginning God created heaven and earth. The Day Two account (Genesis 1:6–8) tells us that God made the rāqîa (firmament or expanse or sky), and that God called it “heaven.” On Day Four (Genesis 1:16–19), God made the luminaries (astronomical bodies) that he placed in the rāqîa. These statements briefly describe God’s creative acts during Creation Week, but they hardly teach any particular cosmology, such as geocentrism or heliocentrism, whether the earth is flat or a sphere, or whether the universe is expanding or static. God exemplified his wisdom in not endorsing any of man’s cosmologies in his Word. If God had done otherwise, it would have needlessly exposed the Bible to ridicule in nearly every age, for man’s cosmologies have changed continually over time.

  • Here is an even better bargain:
    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=free+download+colouring+b…

Plenty of nice looking, educational and free ones out there.

And if religious colouring books are your thing I bet you don't have too look to far to find some!

    • +1

Yeah, plenty of freebies around, don't really think this is a bargain.

  • +5

As previously stated, plenty of free ones online. Why pay money when you can get stuff for free, then donate the money you would have spent to your favourite place of worship or higher learning institute etc?

    • -1

Careful. There is a lot of factual based material there.

    • Very good point

  • The hell… Do people actually buy this stuff?

  • +9

Hey- just say thanks and move on folks.
Is there a need to hate on millions of Christians that go through life doing their bit to make the world a better place? Tarring them all with the same brush as a proportionately small number of evil, corrupt people is immature and absurd.

    • -2

Cool, you may have the answer to a question I was unable to answer 30 years ago.

Lots of people do good things. What good has religion ever done for society?

      • +1

What is good? Is good relative or objective?

      • +13

        Let's just look at Christianity

Pioneered by the Church and committed Christians in modern society:

        • The Church is the largest single provider of healthcare in the world
        • also the largest single provider of education in the world
        • Church fathers successfully campaigned against infanticide in society
        • and stood up for the rights of women by codifying marriage as a sacrament
        • The first orphanages were churches
        • Barnardos is the world's largest orphanage system
        • Churches pioneered the first homes for the elderly
        • and the first homes for the disabled in society
        • Leading society to abolish the slave trade (Wilberforce and the church)
        • Pioneers of modern social workers (Jane Adams)
        • Fathers of modern Foster Care (Charles L. Brace)
        • The Mothers Union - strengthening family life. Founded in 1876
        • Free health care for the terminally ill (Douglas Macmillan)
        • Pioneers of modern nursing (F.Nightingale)
        • Almost all schools were church founded before the state took over
        • 100 out of 110 US universities were church founded (inc. Yale, Princeton and Harvard)
        • Pioneers of free schooling for poor young people (John Pounds)
        • School for children in slums (R.Raikes)
        • World Literacy pioneers (SIL and Frank Lauback)
        • Pioneers of education for the deaf (Rev. Gallaudet)
        • Braille system for the blind developed by Louis Braille.
        • First laws to protect children from abuse (Soc. PCC - Rev B Waugh)
        • Fighting for the rights of children working in factories (Richard Oastler)
        • as well as campaigning for Poor Law reform
        • Josephine Butler campaigned for the age of consent to be set to 16 so children could not be abused.
        • YMCA - caring for young people in society
        • Salvation Army - pioneering radical care for the poor and disadvantaged in society
        • Education for orphans (George Mueller)
        • Campaigning for prison reform (Quakers)
        • Temperance Movement to address alcohol abuse in society
        • Alcoholics (and Narcotics) Anonymous (Dr. B.Smith)
        • Leading society to adopt "fair trade" (Tearfund)
        • Pioneers of Microfinance for poor countries (D.Bussau)
        • Pioneers of international child sponsorship (World Vision, Dr. R. Price)
        • Save The Children, huge worldwide mission (Eglantyne Jebb)
        • Fathers of modern famine relief (Oxfam Quakers)
        • International Housing for the poor - Habitat for Humanity (Millard Fuller)
        • Justice for people worldwide who are oppressed (Amnesty International - P.Beneson, E.Baker)
        • Leprosy Mission - caring for those no-one else wants (Dr. P.Wilson)
        • King James Bible - profound impact on the English language and culture

I could go on, but it is an endless list

        • I am pretty sure they are all staffed and were founded by human beings. Which of those organisation actually couldn't be achieved by a secular organisation? Science was discouraged from the fourth century, and knowledge was destroyed(or saved by the arabs). Education was discouraged by the early church, until protestantism turned up. Protestants then wanted biblical scholars, so learning kicked in. That then backfired as science again snuck in, and has resulted in the decimation of christianity in the West.

Charity itself existed before Christianity. If you are going to start claiming the good of people belongs to religion, then the apologetics of the millions of innocents who have been tortured, murdered, and have had their property stolen since the early fourth century, would then be because of the religion, and not the evil individuals.

I tried that reply. Then I tried, oh well we needed controlling. But that falls apart pretty quickly, once history comes into the picture. It would be like a religion claiming marriage as theirs, while ignoring the thousands of years that existed before the particular religion appeared.

        • +2

@Major Mess: Your question of "What good has religion ever done for society?" was well answered, it inspired people to do all of the things that SJ listed, could have they been done without religion, possibly, but they weren't and the fact that many were founded as religious organisations speaks to the reasoning behind their beginning.

  • +3

But we all like to take the Christmas and Easter public holidays even if we don't believe in it,

    Same with Australia day …..

Nothing like a free holiday even if we don't believe in it.

Looking at some of the pictures, they aren't even religious … just some home or family value type things that are non secular

…. people are so easily distracted without checking facts …. guess that is how you get a mob to stone people …trigger the sheep gene.

No wonder Trumps approval rating doesn't fall, Twitter and Facebook feeds are easy to digest rather than independent research ….same with these pictures, research how many as a % are regligous and hoe many aren't rather than assuming people in the thread have done the due diligence.

someone shares a religious product or something with a religious connotation nekminit Ozbargainers have to share their thoughts and opinions (sometimes very ill-informed) on religion and people who believe it.
