  • What’s the service like and what network do they use?

    • Optus.

Confirmed optus. Im with them. But this special has been on for many months now.

Look into spintel if you want something to compare these plans to.

Service in my area is excellent, we use the $9.95 plan. Yes, Jeenee uses Optus. I tried Vodafone 3G (Kogan) and it sucked something terrible for me, but in other locations it seems to work great. So your area might effect the service. I am in Northern NSW, Tweed area if that helps. Telstra is also great here, I used it via Aldi. But Jeenee is the best value currently.

Amaysim is also Optus and has 10.00 plans but the other plans are much more expensive than Jeenee
spintel also uses Optus and has a 9.95 w/ 1.5 Gig plans which is better then jeenee's 9.95 plan, Spintel also has a $25.95 for 10gigs again better than Jeenee's 'normal' pricing but this posted Jeenee deal which ends 08/31 is a bit better.
Belong is Telstra and has the same 10.00 plan but Jeenee's higher data plans are less expensive.

      Hope that helps someone.

International call rates are insane though. As in, multiple dollars for destinations that would cost you a few cents through a half-decent VoIP provider. $50 will get you one conversation a month.

    • With Virgin mobile being phased out, if they had similar pricing with international calls, i rekon they would get a bunch of Virgin mobile customers.

    • Which is why we use VOIP for international calls. We are with mynetphone… and from this link you can get great deals on VOIP https://www.mynetfone.com.au/whirlpool/VoIP/Plans 0.00 a month and 1.9 cents per minute international!

Jeenee uses the Optus network. I have 3 phones with them since February this year and I dont have any complaints with them so far.

    Setup fee..who else charges that

I have three services on Jeenee. Excellent service. Easy to check account balance. You get text alerts when you have used your data. I saved $50 a month changing from Telechoice. Visit the whistleout website. I got 10% off

  • I wonder if I'm the only one that reads this the same way first Gump says Jenny

Save yourself the hassle. These guys are hopeless.

Billing system is wrong, mysterious charges beyond your plan, and you can never talk to anyone. Contact number never gets through irrespective of time.

Their usage meter is also suspect. Somehow I have tripled data use from previous plans with other carriers.

I signed up to 12 months and regret every minute. Also full cost breakage fee so I have to live with them for another 9 mths!!

Cheap headline prices are just not worth it overall.

    • I have had literally the complete oposite experience.

Also use their disability services from time to time. A+ from this end.

No accounting for bad luck i guess.

Sorry to hear, I've had nothing but very good service from them: reliable billing, easy to understand, really friendly customer service. Only thing was since they've become more popular I had to wait 35mins on hold in Sept 2017 until i could speak with someone but it was sorted out asap. YMMV but I rate them highly.

      • Have two phones on the cheap plan, no problems.

The only issue is there is no live chat or email support and you have to wait for 45-60 minutes to talk to somebody.
Once you get through, they generally sort it out for you.

    • We have happily been with Jenee for over a year now. I will admit it is not easy to get in touch with them if you have any issues ( I wanted a longer ring and did not know the code to get it) BUT eventually I got though and they were very helpful. We do not use data much if at all and so I have not payed attention to their tracking of the data. But over all, I find good value for money if you only need local phone service

My partner and I are on the $9.90 plan with 1.2 gig data This is perfect if you just check email or google something once in a while or if your a senior and just want to make local calls

They also have a senior plan for $19.90 w/ 10 gig of data… perfect for that senior who loves to google and email all the time.

  • Does anyone know if the coverage is the exact same as optus? i was on dodo a while ago and reception seemed mediocre in central parts of sydney especiallly when catching the train. Considering switching to the optus network as im getting signficant battery drain on my optus branded mate 10 pro when i use 4g. Optus seems to have more bands then vodafone.

  • Could someone please clarify this for me.

    https://www.jeenee.org.au/whistleout-exclusive-offer-new/

    $22.5/month 10gb 12 month contract.
Normally this deal is $25/month, but in fine writing it says:
" Offer available until withdrawn* "

What does this entail? that after the promotion period the deal will return back to $25/month?

I tried calling Jeenee Mobile but no one picked up.
