I can buy this stuff in any Chinese shop for $6-8.

      Sure its a Cognac Stanley?

Might have been Burgundy Oliver, but it was still Chinese fake leather that falls apart in six months.

Doesn't cognac refer to the color of the leather (which is synthetic here) rather than a brand name or quality? https://oureverydaylife.com/what-is-cognac-leather-12485068.…

      • It was his cousin Brandy Steve

        • Actally, it was his cousin, Brandy Balloon

Nice article which explains what genuine leather is

Synthetic leather. Cognac, i.e. the color, is a fancy name they attached to the belt more than anything else. How is this better than those $10 synthetic leather belts from Target?

    • it isn't; hence the discount
probably has more strut value though- I wear a belt valued at $50 from Tarocash, instead of the cheap Target ones :)

    • Thanks for saving me the read, pass.

    • Hence I don't understand how smart ozbargainers here up voted this plastic "bargain" when I can buy this stuff at any Chinese shops for less money.
Maybe these people drunk too much cognac or they are employees and friends of friends.
Now lets start the poll with negs LOL

  • So where can I buy a belt like this, size 30 for around $20-30 at a bricks & mortar? Wouldn't mind buying one of these ones for that price but $50 too much…

    • For around $25 you could buy a leather belt from sportsdirect but not much left in stock: https://www.sportsdirect.com/oxford-leather-smith-oxford-lea…

Usually when Myer sales are on, you can get decent, leather belts around $20-30. The one dealhunt linked from Sports Direct is also better than the one on this deal.

      • the sportsdirect one looks like reconstituted leather to my untrained eye
which is only marginally better than this one

there are the occasional deal here, of Australian made belts, which are actually leather, that pop up
If you are not in a hurry, I'd wait for them
