  • Does on-site warranty mean someone will come out in the case of fault?

    • yes exactly.

Yeah, my experience with probooks is that they send out a tech direct from HP. Varying degrees of usefulness - I had a guy come out and replace a motherboard on a dead lappy but they gave him the wrong part and had to come back. But it got done.

Also, HP tend to give warranty service outside the 1yr limit but YMMV.

I'm sorry, where's the deal here?

Paying $508.98 (2% surcharge) for a 6th gen i3, 4GB of ram, no SSD, 1366x768 resolution and keyboard isn't backlit. Not exactly a great kit.

Also it's a bit concerning that the support tab says "Coming Soon" when you are spending over $500 there.

    The whole laptop seems rubbish.
    - thick laptop
    - crap cpu
    - no graphics card
    - 1366x768 panel
    - no backlit keyboard
    - 4gb of ram (U got to be kidding)
    - 500gb sata (u can get that crap from a flee market)

    • The hard drive is 7200rpm and usually a WD black which is better than most. But SSD or GTFO, really.

    Would be a bargain

lol what??? Full featured? stylish? Dual core performance lets professionals stay productive????? im just confused.

    • 430 has been the code through all the generations but the g5 has only been about for a year or so I believe. This is probably talking about the g1 or g2 model.

  • Can the next person who trashes this provide an alternative product as proof? We all know it's low spec, but if it isn't good value for money, provide evidence.

Thanks for the feedback. We understand this notebook isn't for everyone and is more for people wanting an affordable yet portable notebook. We checked today and couldn't find any 13.3" notebook under $600 of any spec in Australia hence the post.

For people wanting a light weight notebook for frequent travel or for student carrying to school this could be a solution. It will fit with most budget and is fine for Online, Microsoft office etc. If you need a notebook for gaming or need to run high demanding applications, we would certainly recommend other models.

    Thank you.

Lol it took me about a minute. Didn't look very hard
By the way, there are a lot better deals if you search 13.5" or 14" laptops.

The thing is that this laptop isn't exactly that portable. Nor is that fast. So what's it's point?

      • The olee one from HN - any good? I could whack in an M2 SSD and it would be suitable for light browsing and the odd movie?

        • The one from HN is awful, and it wouldn't be replaceable. You'd be able to do external but that's about it. It was mainly to prove a point. The Acer Spin 1 series might be more up your alley?
If you PM me your budget and wants I can tell you what's probably the best to get?

        • It looks pretty nasty if you ask me.

To be fair the first one he compared was not equivalent specs.

The second one is (sort of — some specs are better, but it also runs a Pentium which is worse than i3), but it's also $100 dearer.

    • lol just leave this thread before you embarrass yourself and your company further.

    • I'll give you $300 for your four year old laptop.
