Makita Cutting Discs 125mm - 12 Pack $10.85 (Was $16.90) @ Bunnings

110

Hey folks these Makita cutting disc seems to be on sale probably because Aldi have some up for special buys this weekend. They are usually $16.90 and are now $10.85 for a 12 pack. Or $2.35 if purchased individually.

It only seems to be the 125mm size not the smaller sizes go figure this size should be more expensive.
I scored some 115mm cutting disc for $1 each and i was happy with that these are slightly cheaper each.

These can only be used to cut steel/stainless you need the other type of discs to cut aluminium and plastic also these are only cutting disc not to be used for grinding.

Makita 125mm x 1.2mm cutting disc is ideal for cutting metal and stainless steel.
1.2mm Ultra thin blades for faster cutting and comes in a handy 12 pk storage tin protecting the blades from dirt and moisture.

.Handy storage tin to protect against dirt and moisture
.1.2mm Ultra Thin blades for fast cutting
.Suitable for cutting Stainless steel
.Aluminium oxide

Bunnings also have a front page deal saying Irwin stock run out items from $1 that might be worth checking out. I clicked the link and it takes me to my local store address so maybe its in store only?

  • seems to be on sale probably because Aldi have some up

Or if they're bonded, maybe close to expiry date?

    • I guess if they have not been selling its common for Sydneytools to have disc for $1 each for 5/10 packs. So i am not sure where people buy discs from.
I have some of these and they are softer and wear real quick when cutting steel.

You would have to go Bunnings and check the dates.

      • This guy preps.

  • could we perhaps, just for the sake of discussion, say what these are being used for
(no joke, I have no DIY bone in my body, and am clueless)
there was a deal yesterday about a manual lawn edger, do these like talk to each other?

    • They're for cutting Makitas, of course!

    • They are for cutting sheet metal ie. gutters.

      • @AMLagonda
        thanks
I cannot use them as a replacement cutting wheel for the manual lawn edger then

      • they can cut thick guage stuff

    • +2

You can play them on your CD player

      • is than how professional singers cut an album :)

      • These are only if you're into light metal, nothing too heavy!

        • Not really, this cutting disc is very useful to cut thick metals and hardened metals because the 2.5mm one needs too much work.

        • @dealhunt:

I was referring to "heavy metal" the music type, based on Oz's suggestion of using them as CD's :)

        • @bUrd: OK I didn't read the previous comments but for the serious workers the 1mm disc is very handy to cut thick and hard steel :)

    • These are for cutting metal using an angle grinder. The ALDI one on sale at the weekend has other attachments.

Here is a DIY stand for an angle grinder.

  • For stainless steel you also need a specific disc unless you're doing a rough and cheap job.

  • Guessing 125mm is the size required for the ALDI cordless angle grinder.

    • I think it depends on what they got in stock, I remember in the past I saw both 100mm and 125mm.
But I think the 125mm disc would be too big for the cordless tool because it requires more power, but we never know.
