Woolworths weekly specials 16 Feb - 22 Feb

130

Only 8 x 50% off or better this week from Woolworths' 111 specials. Not that much better than last week, but would that suggest they're pricing non sale items more realistically? They're running with the usual discounted products of nappies and soft drink again this week. Not sure about you, but I never buy canned soft drink (and soon to be nappies again) unless they're on special. At least one of the big chains seems to have it on special each week. Have a great week everyone!

Can get cheaper at BigW. Yesterday I saw $14.(something) just under $15 /24 x 375ml

    • they were $13.54 until tomorrow, then they (in theory) they go back up to their usual $15.54)

Chicken breast $11.90 p/Kg save $3.90 … BS they have been $9.90 p/Kg for a couple of months now at my local, so they raise the price and tell us that we are saving??

    • The whole retail industry does that - notably the fat twins and department stores.

High/fake/silly nominal prices, to allow for discounts to be applied to attract most actual purchases has become the norm (and not just in retail).

Real estate seems to work the opposite way: they start off pretending you might get it for less than they hope you will probably have to pay!

      ;)

  • Nothing interesting this week. Maybe I'll get a bag of chips. The chains are probably spending their money on the milk wars.

Hussey, the $11.90/kg is referring to the prepackaged trays from the meat department. It's usually $13 or so bucks a kilo. It's separate from the deli which usually sells chicken breasts to order for around $9-$11/kg.

Old El Paso Soft Taco Kit is on sale for $4.99. These are the ones you can buy to receive free movie tickets.

Mygroceries, love your sports analysis of Woolworth's weekly sales. It's rife with personal stories and speculation. LOL

  • Woolworths Weekly Specials have been crap since starting on a Thursday >:(

  • It starts wednesday, today in NSW.

Kettle chips is the only cheap thing and those new season gala apples.

  • Been curious about Green and Black chocolate for a while, guess I'll try it out. Stock up on some tinned beans… indulge in a packet of chips… otherwise indeed a quiet week for Woolworths, but hey you can't expect something like half-price on Connoisseur ice cream every other week ;)

    • Green and Blacks is very tasty. I especially like the white chocolate with real vanilla bean content.

    • I'm a big fan of their Maya Gold chocolate. Looks like I'll be popping in today to pick up a few blocks.

  • Hey hey, there's the tiger prawns again. There's an ACA story in this somewhere…

  • Not sure if it's national, but my local catalogue's front page has Royal Gala apples at $3.33kg. Less than half price for quite a while now :)

  • Hmm…Kettle Chips is the best deal really
