  • Duel sim but useless being only 16gb.
You need to use microsd in 2nd sim slot.
No band 28, no NFC. If someone asks.

Miui comes with its own mi crapware that you can't uninstall & very deep integration with miui os. Rest all good.

    • most of them are correct,
but miui global official rom doesn't come with crapware 😋
unless u were using aftermarket flashed rom

      • a lot the extra apps are very popular in china so appeal to chinese people, not so popular for australians, for example weibo, wechat, , and lots of other apps are popular in china, but not used by westerners so much.

if you want clean OS go with android one and load whatever else you want from the playstore.

need to rememberer their main market is china, india and not australia.

      • He means all the Mi apps that are duplicates for Google apps. Mi apps that are so deeply ingrained into the OS that you can't disable the damn things without crippling the phone.

Plus it has an MTK SoC … blah!

Kids have Miui phones and theres no crapware that wasn't eaily uninstalled . Next phone is highly likely an Xiaomi .
Screen died on one of them and it was $30 and 30mins of my time to fix .

Edit : this phone is probably not a win without band 28 … Usually Xiaomi phones advertised as "Global " do have band 28 , at least the 3 I have bought .

      • not many xiaomi phones have band 28 ….. eg redmi note 4, A1 no band 28 and the A1 is even Android One and sold in the USA.

by the way, just checked, they actually has 3 slot, 2 for sim, 1 for microsd 😋

        Thanks, back to buying.

You need to use microsd in 2nd sim slot.

Actually why I'm not going to buy it!! Glad we know beforehand.

      • +1

It has a dedicated microSD slot and a 2 sim slot.

Thank you. B28 status should be mandatory in description. No B28 = NOT GLOBAL

For this price I would rather buy a redmi note 4X

get it from Banggood for $139 delivered with coupon 8BGR6A1

plus 3.5% or 4% cash back as well.

Not a bargain. Cheaper for better spec phones that are global edition on many websites (bang, ebay, ali, gear)

    • yes but this is the cheapest u can get in australia

      • -1

correct ….australian stock so you get it quick, cheap out on postage from banggood or gear best and how long do you want wait for a phone.

there is a trade off between cheapest price and how quick you can get stuff.

not my idea of a phone i’d buy but australian stock makes for quick delivery.

if you want all bands inc band 28, nfc, security updates and clean OS get nokia with android one, will be my next phone.

        • If you want update get a Pixel. Android One is still on Oreo 8.1 and July patch. Only pixel is on Pie 9.0 and August security patch.

  • Price | About 90 EUR

    90 eur = $141 AUD

    $182

    • Mi Global Store is selling the global version for 167.27 Excl. Tax and shipping costs so I think this isn't actually too bad

  • 3000 mAh Non-Rem. Battery. Difficult if OS freezes.

Can't find on the 6 sites I checked battery talktime ect…

    • days of removeable batteries on phones are diminishing …..it’s easier to make a sealed phone, smaller, and more reliable.

  • What is the screen made of - gorilla glass or generic tempered glass? Eldest has a redmi 4x with non-gorilla - she dropped it and screen shattered. $150 to get someone to replace, working up the guts to buy replacement screen online and do myself (~$40)

    • dropped mine from the roof to a concrete driveway
got mine for $30 took about an hour to replace (buy one with case)
plenty youtube videos on how to do
