Lots of recent deals for Xiaomi Power banks recently, but none with USB-C power delivery which is required for Nintendo Switch, Macbook etc to actually charge while you're using them.

Not the cheapest its ever been, but I don't think it will get back to the sub $40 US as neither Gearbest or Lightinthebox will ship this to Australia anymore to provide competition. This QB815 model replaces the outgoing QB820 (20,000mah) which is now unavailable. Change to USD and pay with a international transaction fee free card to get it to $63.35 - (via Banggood in AUD is $64ish).

Includes priority shipping which is 7-13 business days - beats the usual 4-6 week waits.

Specifications:
* Model: QB815
* Size: 160.4 x 81.8 x 21mm
* Color: Black
* Weight: 392.5g
* Capacity: 15000mAh
* Input:5-20V/MAX 45W
* Output:MAX 45W, USB-C 5-20V MAX 40W, USB-A 2x5V/2.4A, 9V/2A 12V/1.5A MAX 18W

Other options for Power Banks with USB-C PD are (thanks to @RichardL)

Hope this helps someone :)

Edit - My order got cancelled. As per the Banggood Rep on ozbargain - apparently they're trying to sort out logistical issues with sending power banks to Australia. They hope to get this sorted by Monday and will give a new coupon for 100 units. Fingers crossed it works out. Apologies to anyone else who ordered and got strung along for the ride, like myself.

    I have been waiting so long for this

    • +1

      I set an alert on their website for when it was back in stock and then messaged the rep here for a deal.

      I missed all the other ones too :)

      • Looks like there were only 10 through the discount code that went up so glad i hit the button straight away. how did you go?

        As a side note; I've never seen my girlfriend get so excited about an ozbargain purchase. She has had her eye on my old 10000mAh Xiaomi battery for the past 8 months.

  • Can you use it with a Nintendo switch in Docked Mode

    • +1

      Yes you can.

  • required for Nintendo Switch ?

    I use this one

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/397258

    No problems at all with my switch.

  • +2

    Can vouch that Banggood still ships to Australia.

    Ordered mine towards the end of May and received mid June. (Costed me $57 AUD Shipped)

    • I think this has changed. Banggood just emailed to say they can't ship this product to Australia and want to issue a refund.

      • Interesting. They most likely canceled the order due to the high cost of shipping Power Bank and getting though Customs.

        • Sounds like it. Looks like we wont be able to get this power bank in Australia anymore. Doubt the rep will extend the offer to 100 anymore.

  • +1

    This is a great power bank. Got mine for $55 around a year back. Best thing I've bought from Banggood

  • Would this be able to provide the 5v/4a oneplus quick charge needs?

    • +1

      No. Oneplus has it own proprietary charging protocol (Dash Charge), that most third party don't cater for.

      • Yep, that's right.

        Last I checked none catered to it, Oppo and Oneplus have kept it to themselves.

    • Nope, oneplus uses a proprietary fast charging method and only Dash Charge and VOOC (by Oppo) will work. Oppo is the sister company of Oneplus and they're both run by the same parent company, hence them sharing their charging technology and just rebranding it.

      You also need to use their specific cables too.

      I heard there's a VOOC portable charger that offers dash charging if you use a micro-USB to Type-C adapter, but last I checked that's the only option for a fast charging powerbank.

    Upvote for this for sure, probably the best power bank on the market now. But have a feeling they might not pass the custom though… last time my one got rejected and returned, but luckily got PayPal refunded.

    • It appears that Banggood forwards it to a third party in Australia, which forwards to your address.

      On my package, it has an Australian Post eParcel Label, which states "Road Transport Only, Not to be moved by air"

    • Definitely not the best on the market. But the best cost $300+ so this is the best value.

      • I got one from Dell. It normally costs $213 when not on special but I managed to get it for around $50 or just under.

        Its powerful enough to charge your laptop (charges at 65w up to 20v). However I wouldn't suggest it if you don't own a Dell laptop because it didn't come with a charging cable. You are meant to use the one from your laptop. It is charged via AC cable not your standard usb cable.

        You won't get it for the price I got it for because that included a $90 Dell advantage credit I got when buying my XPS13 that was about to expire.

        • Could you help out with some additional info - you mention the charging is from adapter from laptop, I saw from pics that the input port isn't round like the normal laptop tips - - - it is a type c input or non standard?

        • @Kellytrinh:

          Sorry for late reply.

          The cable used to charge it is the standard Dell cable for charging the charger. That is not figure 8 or barrel.

          The power unit connects to the laptop via USB C. On the other side of the power unit is the cable that connects to the wall. So it's two separate cables to charge your laptop because the power unit is modular.

        • @Kellytrinh:

          Actually, disregard what I said above.

          I have it in front of me now.

          The Dell power bank has 2 USB C ports, one for input and the other for output. You charge the power bank via USB C. It is a standard input.

          But I don't know how long it would take to charge if you're just using your mobile phone charger. You are meant to use the included laptop charger (which is also type C).

    "This coupon can only be used 10 times."

    Can't use it :(

    • Doesn't work, got the same message.

      Fail =/

    • +4

      Sorry. Looks like its expired. I'll message the rep to see if we can get more stock for the deal.

      • Keep us posted please!

        • Sorry, guys. I wasn't able to get a new coupon from Banggood chat:(. Still awaiting word back from the Ozbargain rep.

        • @plasmapuff:
          Rep from Ozbargain said the will post a new coupon for a quantity of 100 soon :) Stay tuned!

        • @plasmapuff: Could you confirm with the rep, if they are still shipping the Power Bank to Australia. It seems that @julz15 got their order cancel due to delivery.

        • @RichardL: Mine got cancelled too :(
          Have messaged the rep for confirmation to see if it ships. Haven't heard back.

          Sorry guys I tried!

  • Not sure why you wouldn't get the Rav instead as the capacity is much larger. The reason that you buy a PD power bank is basically to charge larger devices like laptops that have much bigger batteries. 15,000 mAh ain't going to cut the mustard.

    • I mainly use it for the switch. A full charge gives you 3-4hrs of game play. This can probably charge the switch 3 times =12-16hrs of game play.

      Enough for most flights/trips.

      Of course larger is better, especially if you're charging laptops etc. You could also I guess recharge it using a non USB-C power delivery powerbank to get more charge.

      • Enough for most flights/trips.

        You're not supposed to charge your devices on a flight.

        Here's a quote from the government's Dangerous Goods app:

        "Power banks must not be recharged while on board the aircraft. Power banks must not be electrically connected, or providing power to an external device."

        • You're also meant to put your smartphone into flight mode, but a lot of people don't follow that rule either.

        • +1

          @Lorindor:

          During take off and landing yes. In flight you can use it however you want.

          Actually you know what, I'm not sure about in flight. But the attendants are not going to check everyone's phone to see if it's in fight mode or not. It isn't feasible. However if they see you charging with a power bank it's clear you're breaching the restrictions whereas when they see you using your phone, it's not clear. They should stop you if they are doing their job.

      • Most international flights have real power points these days though

    • RavPower Powerbank only outputs 30W from USB-C PD, whereas the Xiaomi ZMI10 does 45W.

      If you're using the Power Bank for Nintendo Switch, the Xiaomi ZMI10 would also be able to power the dock (whereas the RavPower can't).

  • +1

    Is there a battery bank that does 60W PD (20v/3A)? I'm talking about 60W through a single USB C port, not 60W combined.

    • +1

      To my knowledge, this Power Bank has one of the highest W output (45W) for USB-C PD Power Banks.

    • My Dell power bank charges laptops via USB C port that require 65w. It costs more than this though. I think it's 18000mAh.

      If your needing 60w, it's probably a laptop you are charging, so this should work. It supports up to 20v.

  • This coupon can only be used 10 times.

  • +3

    I wonder why they replaced 20000mAh with 15000mAh, the former is so much more appealing for the kind of devices that would utilise PD (i.e. high capacity devices)

    • +1

      Most likely cutting cost. They replaced the 20000mah (QB820) with the 15000mah (QB815), but still kept the same price.

      • Was going to say, pretty sure I paid this or less for my QB820

      • +1

        That's just Banggood milking its popularity. 20000mAh still sells officially in China for ¥299 and 15000mAh for ¥269.

  • About time…

  • +1

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I've been waiting for this. I sadly lost my $100 20k MaH charger of same model and now it's discontinued and this is sold out :( Bah

    • -7

      I got one. you can buy mine for $1000. I'll throw in free shipping.

  • +1

    bought one from gearbest for 39AUD one year ago, not really a bargin for 63

    • +2

      Yeah, the 20K MaH version was about $50 a few months ago. One of the best Powerbanks i've ever had.

      Now the price has gone to $100+, which is really crazy.

    • Gearbest and most oversea companies don't ship to Australia, hence the higher price. It has to do with Power Bank getting caught with Customs.

  • Lame. Just received an email that they can't deliver and want to refund…

    • My order got cancelled too. :( As per the Banggood Rep on ozbargain: "Sorry, only Priority Direct Mail can ship to Australia,you can reorder and chose Priority Direct Mail". The default (and only) option last time was "Priority Air Mail" . Not sure if there is a difference. Trying to clarify with rep and will try to get new coupons.

      • +1

        Seems inconsistent. The rep told me there was no shipping option for Australia. Thanks for trying @plasmapuff

  • +1

    Sorry,there was a problem with the logistics, and some people’s orders were cancelled. We are processing it and will resume the logistics sent to Australia next week.

    • +1

      Are you bringing this or similar deal back soon with more stock/coupons. Many people missed out like me, three times now ( old 20000 model and now this one ) lol.

      • Even if Banggood brings the ZMI Power Bank back, it will be +10% GST, as Banggood now charges GST.

        • Can you elaborate on this? Gst on top of the 45.99 usd? When do we have to pay that

        • @julz15: At the end of checkout, GST is added onto the total

          So it would most likely be AU $63.35 + $6.35 (10% GST).

          More information regarding Banggood's GST policy

          Banggood use to absorb the cost of GST, but recently (past few days) started charging for it.

        • @RichardL: ooh. Ive already paid for mine so hopefully ok.

        • @RichardL:

          Still would be the cheapest price available for this model and cheaper than most similar spec USB C PD power banks on the market ( except for the current special price of $49.90 +- for the Kogan 20000 USB C PB model which is similar, stronger in some ways, weaker in others ).

        • +1

          @ozhunter68: Agreed, even at ~$70 AUD, it would still considered cheap for a USB-C PD 45W when compared to what's available in the market. The only issue is actually getting them into Australia now…

        • @RichardL:

          Yep. As I still have not got a laptop or hybrid/tablet ( also not into gaming/Nintendo switch ) that uses USB C PD for charging YET, no hurry and can wait for another deal to send to Australia ( and hopefully our $ can also go back up like some years ago lol ).

  • Has there been any update regarding another coupon run for this model? I was literally just looking at it on BG and thought id Google it to price match and found this thread!

    • Not yet. Rep has been trying to sort out the initial orders from this deal first.

    • +1

      Got this message from the rep today: "We can ship power bank to Australia before Thursday. And I will send you a bigger coupon for ZMI QB815."
      Unsure what he means by before Thursday…After Thursday they can't ship to Australia? Also following up with him re: the coupon.
      Stay tuned :)

      • My cart is full, but i have yet to check out of the Olight special… I may reconsider a few things

  • +1

    looks like we wont be getting these. I was offered 50 banggood credits. Did anyone manage to negotiate for more?

    Shipping any batteries at the moment seems near impossible. I asked if they could ship to UK, Sweden, Germany, Finland, and Australia. It was a No for all of them :(
