Philips Master LED MR16 440 Lumens 7W Dimmable 3000K Retrofit $9.90 (RRP $29.95) + Variable Shipping @ Melbourneelectronic

latest model with lower profile and higher lumen output.
High quality halogen downlight replacement

The Philips Master LED MR16 7 Watt is a direct replacement for all 'low voltage' downlights. Here's why we think it's the best retro-fit bulb on the market:

Same brightness as 50 Watt halogens (giving you over 85% energy savings).
Fully dimmable and compatible with existing transformers.
You can replace it yourself - no electrician required.
3000K is a warm white
60 degree
Dimensions: 50.5mm (width) x 50.5mm (depth)

There are countless MR16 LED's on the market that simply do not deliver. Short lifetime, poor colour temperature and transformer problems to name a few.

Once your Philips Master LED's have arrived, all you need to do is swap the globes.

These lights will work with your existing fittings, dimmer switches and transformers. In rare cases they may not work properly with some electronic transformers (generally less than 5% of the market).

100% GENUINE

Very poor light output. Description is false - 440lm is not the same output as a 50W halogen. Mirabella 35W halogens (sold at supermarkets) put out 470 - more than this. Philip's own 5W LED MR16s put out 390lm, so a 7W bulb should be be putting out 540lm.

    • yeah I thought that claim was a bit odd.

I grabbed some of the Bunnings Lce Bella 6w 500lm bulbs and they're almost as bright as halogen.

I suspect these Philips 8w/670lm ones are halogen replacements
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/philips-8w-670lm-cool-white-dimm…

      • Those links are for daylight and cool light, though. Those colour temperatures offer higher lumen than warm light. I'm not sure why you'd want that colour temperature, though.

        • they're just examples, but I use them for the kitchen & outside.

    • Agree about not being 50W, but I find the light output decent.
I have these (or the older model - looks the same?) for a light which can't handle any other Lead's and they work very well. But only get the retrofit ones if normal cheaper ones do not work. And 3000K is quite yellow.

  • Given the very low cost of a whole unit now (Downlights can be found as low as $10), why not replace the entire unit instead of just the bulb? I have two halogen downlights that I'd like to replace the globe in, but not 100% sure on whether to go a full unit upgrade, or just the bulb?

    • You have to hire an electrician, for one. But a full upgrade makes more sense and will usually pay for itself pretty quickly. The LED downlights offer a much wider beam angle too, usually at least 90 degrees, up to 120, and will be brighter.

  • Great price for these dimmable lights - seems to be cheapest available for this model. Do you have the newer models where it doesn't have fins on the side?

    How much is postage?

  • Have these throughout my entire house, replaced the halogens when I moved in.

    • Same, I have 36 of these in my house. They are great. They were the brightest bulbs (and best quality) I could find 5 years ago, and they're still great

  • Any available with cooler bulbs? 3000k is way too yellow for my liking..

    Don't buy from this company.

Terrible communication - check out their eBay reviews.

They also sell from another seller account (mec365) which they claim is not theirs, but shares the exact same address.

Their ABN/ACN has been cancelled since the 05 Apr 2018.

These 650 lm Philips are a bit brighter for those who need more lumens.

    • Thanks Andrew, just grabbed 22 units :-)
