  Are these things still terrible build quality? I had one years ago that didn't last. The buttons were loose and the plastic edges were sharp and ill fitting.

    Yes, still poor. Even the recent flashback one is poor.

    Dunno why Sega are doing this to themselves and getting a 3rd party thats trash.

  Don't buy. AtGames licensed stuff is hot garbage. I've owned one, plugged a controller onto into one of the ports and the port broke off and disappeared into the case. Flimsy build quality. Cart slot is maybe its only real benefit, but even that is pants.

  There are better ways to play Mega Drive games, emulate or if you wanna use carts buy a used MD, Retron 5 or Retrode.

  Mega Drive Mini also in the works. Unfortunately by AtGames still. Here's hoping Sega play a more active role in quality control.

  You’re better off finding one on gumtree.

  Or, if you really need one, get a refurb at The Gamesmen. Sure it’s overpriced, but it’ll work and have some sort of warranty.

  Yes, it won’t have pre-loaded games but the console will work.
