    • +1

A lot use 377 or the 364 or the …, but you need to check first.

      • Thanks bought the 377, 364 and 2032(4) and just shy of $10!

You guys haven’t seen this stuff on aliexpress?

WHY did they make kids' toys uses button battery?

    • Probably because they are smaller and need changing less

      • +1

        ???

        • Whats not to get?

        • @spaceflight:
A smaller battery would need changing more frequently?

        • @WilhelmBargo:
          He meant kids.

        • @pizzaguy: lolz

@spaceflight so they sign a secret pact together? That is very un-ozbargain of them

        • @WilhelmBargo:

Not when the chemistry is different.

Lithium batteries are more energy dense than alkaline. This means that for their size or weight they can store more energy than other batteries.

They also operate at higher voltages. This means a single cell can often be used rather than multiple cells.

The discharge curve of a lithium battery is longer and flatter than alkaline, providing a consistently higher voltage throughout the life of the battery.
This means that they don't slowly go "flat" where motors work slower or sounds get softer like an alkaline battery does.

An example might be a 9v battery for your smoke alarm.
A normal battery will last about a year but you can put a 9v lithium battery in it and it should 10 years.

  • How do these compare to the cheap "Sony" branded batteries off eBay? I'm beginning to suspect those cheap "Sony" ones are fakes because they do not last very long.

    • I want to know that too

    • yes there are fakes of some brands one bay, i noticed it in the packaging was slightly different …batteries still work but in devices where it’s hard to install eg watches you want to do it as infrequently as possible.

    Keep these away from kids

  • +2

its cheaper to buy 2x2 packs of the CR2032 instead of 1x4 pack

    • I’ve awarded you one bonus Bargain Professional Points(tm) point (not transferable, no cash value)

If you want cheap CR2032 batteries, you can't go past $3.99 for an 8 pack at Ikea. Maybe not the same run time as the Energizers, but I haven't had any issues with them.
    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80291156/

I'm not sure that this price applies in all Ikea stores, given that SA/WA seem to be different to NSW.
    Full battery range at https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/categories/departments/ho…

    • given that SA/WA seem to be different to NSW.

      I think they're consolidated now.

      Thanks for that!

    • some previous ozbargain comments suggest IKEA ones are junk.

      • Link?

Ikea is usually far from cbd, so cost more for time and fuel

      • Unless you live far from the CBD (I didn't neg you, in case you were wondering).

        • I don't care about that virtual vote. I really like the good price and quality things from IKEA but both IKEAs in here takes around 30min driving while Bunnings is everywhere around

  • I use these (2) in my diabetes blood sugar tester most chemists have them in the 4 pack energizer for the same price no bargain

  • +2

I’ve used the cheap-o ones and the brand ones for the CR2032 and couldn’t notice a difference. You can usually get the 4 packs for $2 at one of those dollar shops.

  • these batteries have a best by date, Eveready put that date on their batteries, many brands don’t.

so the ones you get the at the reject and dollar shop might not be as fresh.

    • Interesting point. Didn’t realise that. I suppose all batteries have an expiration date. Are these shorter than say a AA for example?

  • Get em same price delivered off ebay. Save money and time.

  • Price is also good for the CR2 (for you XPan and other cameras).
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/energizer-lithium-3v-camera-batt… $5.98
    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/energizer-… $15.49 at officeworks….. price beat? ;)

    • Or try Chemistwarehouse/Officeworks price match.

    • I expect the Amcal sale is the reason for the Bunnings promo

    • My local Amcal doesn't match online prices.

      • They are 5 cents more expensive. Why would you bother getting them to match the price?

        • Store has a different price to its Amcal online price
