Yamaha RX-V567 AV Receiver imported from UK ~ 480AUD

70

199 UK pounds for the silver color Yamaha RX-V567 7.1 AV Receiver, UK model, should work fine in OZ. Shipping charge is about 90 pounds. Making it 290 pounds in total or AUD 480 with the exchange rate of 1 pound =1.65 AUD. You will need to sacrifice warranty though.

Edit: Black color is also available for 30 pounds more.

By UK law they shouldn't be charging you VAT if it is being shipped directly overseas, so you can knock off %20 right there. Otherwise your extra 40 quid will go straight into the managers back pocket.

    • Great so it should be around $430 shipped!! pity i don't have the money
      for this.

      Not so simple.

Sorting out the paperwork associated with not charging VAT is apparently something of nightmare, thus many companies are just not interested in it. That's why you see so many saying they will charge VAT as if you were onshore. Providing they give that money to the government, they are allowed. They are also allowed to charge for dealing with that paperwork - if they do agree to VAT free.

Of course, for those who are a bit smart, setting up the systems and deals to efficiently ship to Oz is a nice potential little earner (hello Amazon), but they have to realise that first.

It's worth the extra for warranty imo.

    • Why bother paying extra for a warranty which needs to be redeemed overseas? I'd prefer to pay less than retail and receive NO warranty.

      • "I’d prefer to pay less than retail and receive NO warranty."

        not me.

  • cheapest aus price I could find is $579 but at least it comes with local warranty. excelhifi

    • refurbished item vs brand new, and is the 1 year warranty worth $150?

The RX-V667 is the unit you want in this range as it has discrete amps

  • The question is does it worth a $250 premium over this as lowest price reported on whirlpool is $680 for the 667.

  • how about low frequency - like radio?

It's a bit odd that they have the "Yamaha RX-V567 AV Receiver & NS-P285 5.1 Speaker Package Deal" on SALE for £399 or you can add them to your basket separately for a total of £359.95….

  • 199 is a pretty normal price in the UK for this… So better off looking around for somebody who will take the VAT off… Plenty of companies to try and ask.

Also some places do sell quite cheap 3rd part warranties which are valid here in Oz. I had a mastercare 3 year warranty on a camcorder from the UK which was valid here no problems.

  • hey just a though, how about arranging group buy for this?
anyone else interested in this? we can save shipping cost, plus vat since they will be selling more, they might be worth while for them to do the paper work?

I'm interested in one , anyone else ?

PS: might even get further discounts

    • register with an OZ address and the price automatically drop 20% due to VAT excluded.
Andy, i'm interested, contact me via email in user profile. R u in Sydney?

Just ordered one of these. Quite entry level, but will suit my needs for now (HDMI 1.4, enough inputs/outputs etc).

    Just FYI:

    • VAT is automatically removed (-31.83)
    • Postage is 82.90
    • Discount code 8DISCFB for another 8 pounds off

Total 242.07 or AU$388.61 (plus whatever international transaction fee your bank charges).

    • Thanks for the info Harbert98, looks quite cheap I am really tempted too on a different item.
Any chance you can possibly update that you have received the item in good order when you have it, just worried it may be damaged for such a heavy item to be shipped? Much appreciated and thanks in advance.

      • After a week or so of "stock will be in soon" they've now cancelled my order. Pretty disappointing.

        • Thanks for the advice mate.
It seems a bit of a waste of time with this mob in the UK,probably find it too much paperwork for themselves so just cancel all overseas orders.

  • Did anyone manage to succesfully order one of these?

    • no
