  D3100 is a good first low end DSLR, but I dont rate the D3100 as $1200 worth of camera it is a very basic shooter, forget the crappy accessories your better off with the new 600D 18 MPixel full HD video, http://www.teds.com.au/canon-eos-600d-18-55mm-is-kit/w1/i219…

  I am sure if you whinge enough, they will throw in the tripod and other crappy accessories.

  Plus.. theres much better low-end models than this one for sure.

    Pentax K-r is a better entry level than the Nikon D3100 and was recent 614$ at JB. For that price you would rather pick up a Nikon D90 twin lens kit for the same price, much better camera even if it's older.

  This pack has been around for awhile now.We picked it up at camera house in ballarat before
  christmas.They swapped the Nikon bag for a LowePro. Which is a much nicer bag.
  My wife is stoked with the camera.
  Also found it at Camera Pro in QLD for $986.00 but with the 55-200 VR lens
