  • Are the games any good? Are they proper Nintendo or cheap rip offs

    • I haven’t got mine yet

    • +1

Highly doubt Nintendo would let them come pre-installed with their games.

I looked at this in store months ago. The games certainly aren’t anywhere Nintendo quality. I would avoid this.

      • +1

Also played in store. Not only are the games all rubbish, the control system is very frustrating. Would also avoid unless you've tried one and know what to expect

God, this thing need 4 AAA batteries! The Original only needed half of that amount. And guess what? "Batteries not included." THE HORROR!

    • +1

Would have thought most people here have rechargeable AA's floating about.

      • +5

This is Varta! or Eneloops (your choice)

        • +1

          .. or Ladda(Ikea) / Activ Energy(Aldi)

        • +3

          woooosh

      • +3

        But I said AAA batteries

    • +5

The OG GB used a whopping 4 AA's, the Pocket used 2 AAA's, and everything after that used 2 AA's.

4 AAA's in 2018 is (profanity) ridiculous though. I have several GBA clones that just come with a simple old Nokia style lithium chargable battery, they ALL cost less than this thing. Clearly going for as much profit as possible, which, go nuts, it's capitalism, but I ain't gotta be happy about it.

any links u can provide ?

        • +1

To what? The ones I bought?

tbh I'm not sure if links are allowed on here, I remember a deal for a BittBoy being taken down not too long back. But Google "BittBoy" and "Retro Mini" and click the first response for each, that will take you to the official sites and you can suss out the thing from there.

Then, once you know if you're interested or not, suss out eBay and Zapals for a cheaper clone (clones of clones, I know) and you'll do alright.

For reference, I paid about 40 for the Retro Mini, and 20 for the BittBoy, they were pretty much the cheapest prices I could find a few months back when I grabbed mine. BB do have deals every now and then on their official site, but genuinely decent ones are few and far between.

If you (or anyone else reading this) are having trouble finding a cheap one, or wanna ask anything else about these two (I haven't really dabbled with too many other dedicated cloners) then feel free to drop me a PM. :)

      • Hey still AA are more common than AAA

    • Weird, website says 3x AA batteries.

      • Really? Thats strange as in the third picture on the lower right, it says 4x AAA batteries required

  • It appears that voucher code is not valid.

According to this, the voucher code expired on 31st May 2018.

Added the voucher code in the wrong section.

Make sure to add it to "Enter Promo Code" in the cart (instead of "Perks Voucher code" at checkout).

Also Free Shipping with Shipster Membership.

    • This thing doesn't look half bad. Intrigued, but not intrigued enough for the price.

  • Not a bad device for the price… but I hardly play my PSP as it is so I'm thinking I should just stick to that.

    • You can also load mgba onto the psp and play real gba games as well.

  • This costs more, but it gives you the ability to pick which retro games (out of a list of supported 8-bit consoles/handhelds) you want to play, and comes with a rechargeable battery

Nope, the voucher worked but I couldn't get it to do this. Comes to $42.49.
