0/10 for originality, pretty sure someone made this comment last time they were posted.

So are you Mr Quick then?

  • Lol They claim you can get 48 snacks out of a packet. Tasty rolls though.

  • Must be a resilient woman to have agreed to go out with a man named Mr. Quick

      or easily pleased.

    • Are we sure Donald Trump is not Mr Quick?

  • as per recommendations from ozbargainers these are most tastiest frozen sausage rolls. just the meat inside is always a bit mushy after cooking in the oven. Anyone know how to prevent this? thaw it out first?

    • +1

Yeah agree mushy after they have been cooked- I’m not keen on them

I had the same problem as well. I think if you thaw them out fully, and then cook in the oven it might come out different.

    • Never had a problem tbh. Cooked some as recently as Sunday and they were perfect.

Mrs Quick Sausage Roll 1kg $3.75

    Good deal for Mr Quick…

  • Does the meat taste like meat or mush?

    • +1

Texture is mushy. Taste is good but I can't remember, not sure if I'd use the word meaty. At half price try them yourself people seem pretty split on here.

      • Pity it's such a big pack if you don't like it..

I guess it's less than $4 to try.

    • +1

It does taste like mush but I wasnt sure if thats because I hadnt allowed it to thaw properly.

      • I don't pre-thawing it will make any difference to the texture.

  • Could someone please explain why these should be brushed with milk? Why not oil (or nothing at all)?

    • +2

It makes the pastry turn brown when ready. Otherwise, you get a pasty pastry colour. You can also use egg (for more shine), but it's easier to brush with milk :)

Oil will make the pastry turn soggy, rather than crispy.

wife always brushes pastry with milk/egg mixture. Always brings the best out of it.

  • Would love to try these but they never seem to be in stock in Perth.

  • Just me who read this as a 1kg sausage roll for $3.75??… guess I am hungry and not had lunch….

  • Always up for a quick sausage

I'll give these a try. My go-to frozen sausage rolls have always been Balfour's (which are easily the best frozen sausage roll I've tasted) but, sadly, my Coles no longer stock them after they converted from a Supabarn (they still stock the meat pies, though - go figure!) https://balfours.com.au/our-range/sausage-rolls/

    • Tried Herbert Adam's ? They are my go to now that Balfour's aren't available locally. They're delicious !

Btw- The Fry’s vegan sausage rolls are on sales at Coles for $4

      Vegans really can ruin anything.
