    Anyone have one of these?

      • even if nobody does, any budget projector enthusiasts would like to comment on the price/perf on this thing?

I have an Excelvan projector with similar specs… I do not recommend it. Resolution is terrible, the UI is terrible, the speakers on there are terrible and the fan is really loud. Waste of money.

  • Resolution enough for 720p (1280x720) - absolutely not full HD, 1080P in the description is BS, just FYI.

I compared it with a random DLP, 1280x800 projector specs - BenQ MW533 (the projector in this deal is LED, not DLP):
3300 vs 220 ANSI (DLP much brighter)
    252W vs 129W (DLP needs 2x power)

No idea what to think yet, haven't looked it up properly.

But the BenQ is AUD $699? Or is the street price actually lower?

      • I was just comparing to a cheapish DLP.

        • No, you compared something more than 4 x the price. Pointless, really. Like people on here who complain about laptops under 1k that aren't spec'd as well as those at 2k+. No one on here is so simple that they can't figure it out… it takes a matter of minutes and a couple of Google searches.
          Typical on OzBargain.

          @Ripped:

Sorry to waste your nerve, sir.

My point was to compare two technologies. I’m afraid LED projectors are too shit for my expectations.

  • Sounds like $170 down the toilet

    220 lumens on a 200" screen !? haha

Might as well put your iPad upside down in a cardboard box with a fresnel lens.

    • It's 3500 Chinese lumens :)
Same as what I have. I think up to 150" is doable, but you are right, 200" would only work in the middle of the desert without light pollution and when there is no moon.

Bought one from amazon USA at that time for AU $ 145 and it was ok for the price . Not as bright as toumei mini that is double the price

    • $145 you say…… probably going to give this deal a miss then

    • Can you see anything using it in a dark room but with your phone’s LED torch on?

  • +2

I have a Vivibright GP100 projector, which has a very similar spec (same advertised brightness and resolution). I use mine for outside cinema, and it works great on a 120" screen. Needs to be dark, though.

Outdoor cinema! Thats cool. How do you power it?

      • +2

Just by extension cord, with a screen hung between the poles of the patio. Perfect for summer evenings.
