No HD-Rumble or motion control if that matters to anyone, but for $19 not bad

    • HD rumble is pretty important. A lot of games use it at least a bit.

Can also be configured and used with PC.

    • If I was gonna use this with PC, would I have to do any tinkering with the controls in games or should I directly buy an xbox controller to avoid that instead?

      • It's easy to use in PC but bear in mind it has no analogue triggers, they're just regular buttons so Xbox or DS4 may be better.

OzBargain at it again, undermining the value of me buying my MayFlash last year.

    • My MayFlash is rather unreliable so I've all but given up on using it.

      • I've only really used it with my Wii U Pro Controller, just because that poor sucker would be going to waste otherwise. What controls are you using?

The other week for the shit of it, and to show off how it worked, I plugged in, only for a minute mind you, so if problems start later well, yeah. Anyway, I plugged in an Xbox One remote, a Dual Shock 3, Wii U PC, a PS2 to USB adapter with an OG PS1 control with no analogs, and even an Xbox 360 USB Guitar Hero 2 controller. All worked fine, but again, I only used them for a minute or so to prove a point.

8bitdo make the same kind of thing themselves now for Switch, could be more reliable for you maybe? I don't know. Also I never updated the MayFlash thing, ever, so maybe an update killed it? Just spitballing here.

        • I used it with my PS4 controller.
My issue is it would NEVER reconnect to the controller, making me have to pull it out of the dock and try and repair, wasting my time.

    • Literally bought Mayflash this week….

But Wii U Pro controller best controller I have used.

  • I bought these a couple of weeks ago, very comfortable and sturdy, don't feel cheap despite being a $19 controller! Bought a couple for the rare occasions that I might play local multiplayer, but if it was a common event I definitely would've just bought wireless.

  • Do these only plug into the screen unit? Or can they also be plugged into the dock ?

    • i'd like to know this too

      • I bought one last night at JB, and they do not plug into the switch tablet. They only plug directly into the dock's full size USB port. You would have to get an adapter to plug it into the tablet.

  • Good review here. https://www.amazon.com.au/PDP-Faceoff-Wired-Controller-Switc…
Compares against the Mario faced version which is different to this one.
This looks like a good cheap way to get more players, but more as backup controllers.

    • Thanks. Faceplates are also removable. Wonder when they will start selling them locally.

    • Also want to know this.

Quick impressions. Note that I don't have a pro controller (yet).

It feels cheap. Controls worked well enough for Mario Kart. My son has used a pro controller and initially thought I'd bought one. It does NOT work when directly connected to the console (using a separate usb-c to usb-c cable), but it was never advertised as being able to, so that's fine. I think the included cable's about 8 feet long, works well enough for us (if you need it to be longer, I think a quality usb extension cable would suffice). Speaking of the cable, it appears to be a decent quality, it's no anker but it does charge my phone and transfers data (didn't check speed, I'd assume usb 2.0). Was expecting a micro usb connector for this price, usb-c is a nice bonus (for me).

I connected it to my Windows 10 laptop, drivers were automatically installed. Haven't gone any further with that, my son confiscated it for Mario Kart.
