It's $279 @ MSY and PCCaseGear every day, what makes this deal good?

    • Wasn’t $279 at MSY last time I looked and PCCG is + shipping?
These have been my go to RGB RAM for new builds for a while now, and this seems to be the lowest it’s been for quite a while, so a plus from me. RAM prices seem to have slowly been dropping over the past month or so, hopefully it keeps coming down.

Regardless, it's only ~$10 lower than normal, so what makes that worthy of a post here?

        • -1

This is ozbargain. Pretty sure $10 cheaper than original price is a bargain.

        • Errrr, so people can save $10? If this wasn’t posted then people could miss out on the $10 saving. Also it’s good to show the price history. The next person that is searching for this on ozbargain will see this and know that this is the price to beat going forward. Also any savvy ozbargainers with price protection on their credit cards may use this as a reminder to put a claim in if they purchased this ram previously when prices were higher.

If you only have the best of the best bargains then the ozb community would be a lot smaller and quieter and less useful.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that ~3% off RRP isn't exactly a bargain.

          @Riczter:

Alright, shall we submit posts for every item within their store as they're most likely all sharing the same savings?

        • RRP? You got a source for what the RRP is or are you just making it up like all the stores do themselves. Shopping express still has the RRP for these at $399 lol. Anyway, the bargain isn’t the 3% off the usual price, it’s more the fact that it’s the lowest it’s been in a little while, which is good to know for those sitting waiting for the price to drop.

And no, submitting posts for every item in the store would be silly, but if it’s a popular item that is a lower price than the normal sale price then sure go ahead, because it benefits the community.

        • easy postage for those in rural areas who don't get to MSY or PC case gear … that's about it, and people in those places send back for warranty, for me, MSY is close enough.

        • @Lorindor: 3% is better than 0%. Lets relate that to a higher priced item example a $50000 RRP Car. 3% is $1500. or How about 3% off a house loan. Gee that 3% becomes important. Stop clutching at air.

BTW $10 is better in my pocket than theirs.

Also the Oxford Dictionary states that a BARGAIN: is A thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.

        • @Lorindor:
I agree with your point. Can still remember the good old days of ozbargain when a higher percentage of posts were genuine bargains

        • @Riczter:

RRP? You got a source for what the RRP is or are you just making it up like all the stores do themselves.

I usually use whatever pricing is available on staticice as a reference, which I'm sure a lot of other people do also, as 'regular retail' normally means the lowest price.

          @D3NI3D:

Yeah, we're not talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of a loan where each percent really matters, we're talking an ~$8 saving.

        • The lowest price is usually the "sale price" which is the complete opposite of the RRP. The RRP is the highest price, when its not on sale. Using staticice can be misleading coz often the cheapest price isnt available, and doesn't include shipping. Unless you take the time to go through them and see which ones are available and have local pickup or delivery then you cant really use it as a baseline for "RRP".

I'm not trying to convince you that this is a hugely stellar bargain, coz its not, what i'm trying to convince you of is that posting it still has merit and benefit to the ozbargain community.

similar speed is ~$220 posted on newegg: https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N…

    • +10

it's not similar as rgb increase performance by 200%

      • +2

the performance gain is from causing the user to staring at them and not noticing time pass.

    • +1

You save alot of money from not turning on your lights at night due to the sheer power of RGB.

  • +1

I would get Ripjaws V in the same or better speed for ~$240 unless you need RGB.

    • What do you mean 'NEED' RGB, it's pretty much mandatory these days mate. It's an embarrassment if you don't have at least a few RGB components for your PC.

      • -6

        Gay as a rainbow.

      • unfortunately some people like it ….why do people decorate their cars …. me, I just have a fan with LED so I can tell when unit is powered up, but some people game in groups at same locations …

    • Game will not be 60 fps unless you have RGB in your rig.

    • Nvm, back in stock

  • +1

I'd say pony up the additional $ for the CL14 B-die variant. Especially if on Ryzen.

  • -2

Please make sure you post every item in woolies that is slightly marked down so i dont miss it

    • Have you not been on here on Monday afternoons?

      • Yea but I mean if there is something out there that is even 5% cheaper; even if it's flour, I need to know.

  • Back in stock BTW!
