    • That listing has already been removed.

  • Now that AA are involved let see what price it can go down to. Only issue is limited supply. Suspect by Xmas there maybe some more discounting. The XM2s were retail $499 and then by Xmas. Prices as $312. But you cant wait forever right. Highly recommend going to pick up at AA. It will just make you think you feel like you brought the cheapest headphones ever. Which by comparison to some of the headphone there. you did.

Good Sunday morning find, thanks OP for the post. Bought my XM2's via ATA. Pity none of these manufacturers focus on the tuning of the microphone, these and previous Bose pick up way too much ambient noise during phone calls. Not sure if anyone has seen anything about that being improved?

  • Has this offer expired? Coming up as $499 on website :(

    • +1

Looks like it… shows 499 for me too.
EDIT: Whoops. Gotta use the QFF code. Still works!
I'n flying out on the 2nd on a long haul, need something to keep me sane!

      • Wow can’t believe I missed that. Got my order in. Thanks!

  • Are these guaranteed to ship out on the 26th? as it says on the website they are due in n Sept 30?

  • +2

I managed to get Sony to price match the $449 on Saturday at the Chatswood kiosk and I got these delivered to me today (Sept 18th). Looks like they are handing them out before the 26th release dates.

    • How do you like them so far?

      • +2

I also own the 1000XM2. I found that the XM2 made my ear and head sweat and I would have to take them off maybe 30 minutes at a time to just relieve the fatigue and sweat since the earcups were small and tight. The 1000XM3 are lighter and the earcups are larger so the first thing I noticed is that I can wear it for longer periods of time.

Sound quality is noticeably better with deeper bass. coming out of the box the treble was not bright so I had to mess with the EQ a bit, but thats just my taste.

The noise cancelling is better. I would say it diminishes voices more than the XM2.

It was worth the upgrade just to keep them on my head longer and my ears don't feel sore.

I'm not yet sold on the sound signature of the mk3. Still preferred my mk2 without any eq necessary. Comfort was fine with the mk2 but the mk3 are even better. I just feel that the mk2 felt more premium and the mk3 are more plasticy.

Chuffed that I scored a pair of WH-1000XM3 today for $324.96 through an employee F&F offer (sorry can't divulge more) - indicative of a future price?

    • not asking how… but what does F&F stand for?

      • Friends and family?

  • Promised 26th, charged card straight away for preorder, now advised silver not available until Oct 8th.

    • A shame. I got a pair from Sony, ordered in Wednesday evening, delivered this arvie.

    • Sony Centre was happy to match the price and will have stock next week.

  • Got mine yesterday as an upgrade to replace my WH1000XM2. Definitely a different sound signature, I think warmer and fuller. Sound stage is really good. I’m not sure if I need to burn them in but I think I actually preferred my XM2’s. Build quality feels and looks cheaper but they are noticeably lighter and the bigger ear cups make it super super comfy in comparison to the XM2 which were already comfy even whilst wearing glasses. Carry case looks and feels much cheaper than the XM2 but at least they packed the audio and charger cable in the case.

    • Yeah I also have mixed feelings about the finish if the product accessories and the leather PU on the headband

    • Are they on the same comfort level as a Bose QC35 II?

      • +1

They are definitely comfy but the Bose still have more space for your ears, are a bit cooler due to extra ear space, and feel a little less bulky.

  • Website says black in stock now - anyone had dispatch yet?

    • Doubt they'll send out on a Sunday. I pre-ordered 2 weeks ago, we'll see if any sort of delivery notice gets emailed tomorrow.

    • Pre ordered mine a couole of weeks back and just received mine today in Sydney

    • Just got a dispatch notification :)

  • I've got $300 worth of Westfield gift cards so hoping Sony do a decent deal at their kiosk in the coming months.

    • In my experience, you can use those gift cards anywhere that takes eftpos

  • does noise cancelling work even on a wired connection? does it also require something playing else NC stops working?

  • +1

I was asking about these at Harvey Norman and saw on the salespersons screen that the cost price is $272. So we should see some pretty good discounts on these as stock rolls out!

    • So how much did you pay for it?

      • +1

I didn't buy a pair because they had no stock. They had about 50 on pre-order though (presumably at full price) so they may be reluctant to discount very much at least for the next few weeks.

Thanks OP! Just ordered. Code still works.
