Virgin BYO Post-Paid (No Contract) $29/Month $450 Credit to Use Plus $10 off for 10 Months

130

I am keeping an eye out for new mobile plan as mine is expiring soon.
This is similar to one I posted:
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/37101

But better still, this BYO mobile allows anyone to try out the plan with no contract.

This is best for someone on Pre-paid. Why not take up this plan for the next 10 months (worked out $19/month for $450 credit) and it's much better deal than the recent 15% discount for prepaid top up in Coles:

Plus virgin to virgin call is FOC and monthly 200MB data limit.

Take up this plan and if you don't have a virgin friend to talk to, call me…
err… I'm not a virgin yet. still contracted with 3 :P

He's asking us to be gentle, perhaps?

    • haha lol

Take up this plan and if you don’t have a virgin friend to talk to, call me…
      err… I’m not a virgin yet. still contracted with 3 :P

      obvious meaning

I’m not a virgin yet—> A meaning the virginity virgin, if he was talking about the telco, OP would go "I'm not on virgin yet"

      • for OP's efforts though
      • I'm sure no pun intended. +1 for the joke :P

99c/min + 40c Call Connection (billed per min)

    wow

  • I'm already on the Big Cap 29 month-to-month. I think I need to ring them and see if I can have $100 off…

    • You can't, you already have a free X10.

      • No I don't. I'm on the Big Cap 29 BYO phone, no minimum contract length or anything.

I'm yet to ring them, but the thrust of my logic will be that if I left for another telco (as I am free to do), and then came straight back, I'd get the $100 off.

If you have been with 3, yes of cause you can't be a virgin lol.

  • wow impressive, virgin charges $2000/gb of excess data! and here I was complaining about liveconnected's data rates.

    • Well I guess most votes are not for virgin mobile (or this plan), but how OP been a 'virgin'

      • I'm on this plan. The included credit is way more than I can use, but the 200mb is a little tight. Great if you can work within it.

        • I think virgin count their usage in 1MB increments too, so you blow through it even quicker than expected (ie, check an email and use 30kb - usage deducted 1MB)

It is worth checking out TPG for mobile access: http://www.tpg.com.au/mobile/plans.html. I switched to them a couple of months ago from Virgin and it has been just as good as Virgin. It's the same network as Virgin (Optus) though so that's not surprising.

    • Yeah, I'm (sorta) with Virgin after they bought then killed off iSim grrrrrrr!!!! but the charges and service are utter rubbish :(

I need an "OPTUS" network/on-seller and TPG seem cheap (for a very low useage, er,, user).
I'd only baulked at the $20 SIM charge ($40 seeing that I need to port 2 x iSim/Virgin numbers) else I'd probably already have jumped by now.

If anyone has a better (Optus network) suggestion,, I'm all ears (old ferengi joke)…

      • For low-usage I have found amaysim (Optus network) to be good. Online account management is easy, porting your old number is simple, usage history is updated regularly, no contracts, you can choose from a pre-paid or post-paid account (change back and forth as you please), add additional SIMs under the one account, payment methods are BPay and credit card, data is cheap ($9.90/GB), no flag fall.

Order a free SIM online (only pay $5 in pre-paid credit) delivered to you.

        • Thanks CamelDude,, I'll have a closer look at that'un :)
