Geez, I wish 75" TVs would come down in price the way 65" have. I have a nice 55" from Sony now - had for about 4 years… be keen for a big upgrade rather than the 65".

Seems like a good price if you don't connect many devices to your TV. Having only two Hdmi ports is crazy imo. Three is the minimum for me.

    Soniq no no …

All the Soniq TV friend bought none of them last long.

    • Define long? We had ours for over 2years and works perfectly. On top of that, still has another year of warranty. For $950 I paid for 65" that's pretty good. I agree that it has its drawbacks, but for that money, it's great budget TV.

      • After warranty? I would expect longer for a big screen TV. My 46" Samsung still going strong but their replaced several times.

Good value for the size, but Android 4.4.4 is not spectacular. and only 2 HDMI ports could give some headaches.

  • What appz does it have pre-loaded in? Does it have netflix and amazon prime TV?

  • I have this tv I paid only $599 65” jb and has three year warrenty I use it in the bedroom it’s awsome for the price

    • Can you say anything bad about it?

Have heard so many stories and anecdotes on washed out images and bad picture quality etc yada yada I don't know what to believe anymore.

I just want a cheap large monitor for my pc and maybe consoles in future.

Not an artist or hardcore editor by any means just want the best picture quality to really showcase my games and something that does not look like poop for youtube and videos.

Starting from the bottom right now with an old second hand 1080p TN 60 Hz monitor so honestly anything is better than this but don't want to have to upgrade again in a few years trying to find something that should last me awhile so also don't mind paying for quality if the price tag most people feel is warranted.. won't be getting an 8000 AUD TV anytime soon i think is what I am saying Unless it is truly mind blowing.. I saw quantum dot and QLED and etc in store a few times.. was nice but can live without it for now just want the next step down.

I'd personally avoid this model based upon experience an earlier version, still 65", 2 HDMI inputs, $999 etc. I don't have the model number to hand but it was something like S65UX15A. This was replacing a dying LG 60" Plasma and the logic was buy a cheap 65", keep for 2/3 years and then move to a 75". That's still the plan.

It's works okay but there are some issues. Note I only use if for TV/Movies, not gaming:-

1 - No ARC. This means you can't directly connect an AV amp unless you use the s/pdif output. This is okay for me as my old Yamaha DSP-A1 predates HDMI in any format but just sounds so good……. The TV actually passes through all digital signals that I've sent through HDMI inputs including DTS. NOT all TVs do that, often just downmixing to Stereo of just DD5.1

2 - Slow startup but not an issue in practice.

3 - Smart functions are far better just using a Chromecast. This applies to many Smart TVs with apps that seldom get updated.

4 - 2 HDMI inputs are a limiting factor but can be handled.

5 - Despite having compatible HDMI ports I've found it to be unhappy with Foxtel 4K. It will only enter 4K mode if you manually set it in the Foxtel menu and will lose that setting when you power off. That said, the actual 4K picture is not very good no matter what the source and I've found it far better using 1080p with both Foxtel and a HTPC.

I have another 65" TV by Changhong. It also cost $799 but is SO much better across the board. ARC, 3 x HDMI, happy with 4K signals etc. I note that Changhong has released a sister brand Chiq so this might be worth pursuing otherwise Hisense and the cheaper bigger brands.

The lack of published specs is a bit of a worry which makes me think the actual model is very similar to mine….

    • where can i find more details about the changhong you bought or the chiq one?

how does it compare to the Aldi tvs? im tossing up between a cheap tv vs a $1.5k hisense

i dont game and havent had a TV for 5 years (i use PC only) so its literally going to be a streaming youtube output for kids/family

i also plan on getting a nvidia shield so dont give a crap about smart features

    • any update to my questions by any chance?
