Velocity Gold Status for 3 Months with 10,000 Flybuys Points Transfer

750

As per the title, transfer 10,000 FlyBuys points to your Velocity account and be upgraded to Gold Status for 3 months. Not sure if this is a targetted offer, but received this in an email a few moments ago.

Expired Then use your Velocity Gold Status to be matched to Air New Zealand Airpoints Gold for 6 months. This is a Star Alliance Gold tier, so gives you free lounge access (among other benefits) on all Star Alliance flights.

        • @Serathis: I gave them a call. They just said it had to do with the explore gold program and once it was finished, the status points should be reinstated.

    • same !! I thought I was the only one !!

    • Was it just a rolling removal of older SCs?

      • no, fresh new 80 SC

  • Just got my bonus points to come through for over 10k flybuys and transferred today. Fingers crossed im still within the first 10k people to transfer.

  • Just checked my Velocity Account and have received Gold Status without an email yet.

Does anyone know if they will send out a new Gold Card or will I have to request one? Going to look into accruing the 80 status credits, just need to research a few flights and see if it's worth flying two people 1 Zone in Freedom return or 2 Zones in Elevate return.

No physical card. You can add digital card to your google pay or apple pay.

  • Anyone know when the expiry date on the membership is?

    • 3 months gold only

      • Any idea on the exact date?

        • +1

if you check account there should be next review date

  • Did everyone lose their status credits? I still have the 125 showing in my velocity account dashboard.

I booked a return flight to LA from sydney with virgin using skyscanner. I hope that will cover me for the 80 status credits!

    • does it work like that? I would have thought it has to be via VA website

It needs to be a virgin flight to count for flight sectors flown. Status points will apply if it is not a virgin marketed flight.

        • What do u mean? It is a virgin flight… I just booked it through skyscanner. Ive always done that in the past and alway receive status credits and velocity points.

          • @harthagan: All I'm saying is what you've done should be fine.

I've travelled with Singapore Airlines (SQ), I got credited with velocity points and status points but not "flight sectors" flown.

I'm travelling with Singapore Airlines again this month but I booked the flights through Virgin (VA code share) so I should get velocity points, status points and flight sectors flown to meet the requirements for the Gold fast track.

            • @bluedufflecoat: Oh yeah I must have misunderstood you haha. Hopefully we will both be gold for years to come :)

              • @harthagan: ah cool , good to know 3rd party website works for SC and eligible sector too!

  • Check your status! I just got gold without getting the official targeted email :D

  • I’m excited they sent me a new gold card!
