Waiting for 1TB to hit <$50

The irony is the cheaper they get the less we need them, with music, video (soon game) streaming and cloud storage services :-D

      Not with Australia's internet speed.

        Cries in TPG T_T

    • I see it from different angle, it would bring (back) cloud computing home.

    • Cloud gaming will never be a thing, it sounds great but no one realises who's going to pay for the multi billions, yes with a "b", of dollars to put together the tech to run millions of games simultaneously @4k at atleast 60fps, anything less than that would be seen as trash, I haven't watched anything less than 720p in movies, youtube, TV is over 5 years, the idea of game streaming is a joke, one perpetuated by moron game devs who know nothing about anything except how to exploit money from gamers.

      • I’d be willing to bet you are wrong, cloud gaming is already a thing and will only grow. VMware’s been demonstrationong it for years at conferences. Nvidia and Citrix are battling it out to get dominance. It will also get them business from graphic designers, CAD and other video heavy industries. Online gaming is worth billions especially with tournaments attracting huge numbers watching them. To say cloud gaming will “never” be a thing is very short sighted,

        • Ok it will never be a thing in the way mot people think, that's just facts, people think they'll be able to play triple a titles for $5 a month at 4K60 with no stutters and no issues, that will never happen, even with the highest spec'd PC things stutter and lag, the state of internet here and 80% pf the world is a deciding factor, maybe if the world gets it's act together and gives out unlimited 10Gb/s to every country, maybe it'll be a thing, but there's too much money being made by hardware vendors to let that happen. It's a pipe dream thought up by oblivious morons.

Don’t really understand how this is a bargain, it’s only a 1.3% discount off a regular price at MSY of $249?

    http://www.msy.com.au/ssd/20882-samsung-860-evo-mz-76e1t0bw-…

~$5 off a regular bricks and mortar price doesn’t exactly induce FOMO and is in the realm of regular price …

MSY price has been going up and down over the last few days, I went to grab a 1TB from local MSY yesterday and it was $299 when I was sure I had seen it around $255 the day before, now today it's $249 after I pulled the trigger on this deal.

  • This also comes with free shipping so dont need to queue up at msy i guess.

  • Do people just put their most frequently played games on a 1tb SSD and then the rest of the steam library installed on a mechanical hd? Or should I just buy a 2tb?

    • 2tb's too rich for me…
