Received an email short time ago, Sale starts at Midnight Eastern time

Not many details just yet apart from the T&C listed in the email which have included below, but based on the timing of it and the previous deals from the same time the last 3 years there is a pretty good chance its the "return for free" Japan sale.

Mod 1pm: This deal should have been removed initially due to insufficient details for upcoming deal, however was not reported to us. Airfare Deals Guidelines. It appears the email received from OP was referencing a Bali Holiday Package Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal which expires 9/25 as stated in this deal post. As it stands there is no definite indication that there is a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal for Airfares/Japan or when it would go ahead, if that deal does become available, then it can be posted as a new deal with sufficient details. Note: moderators are not saying any particular sale will go ahead or not, we are simply saying that there are insufficient details for this deal post to remain as it stands, any sale with sufficient details should be posted as a new deal when there is as per the guidelines previously linked.

          Your flight home shows as $1488!! I found return flights before sale (different dates in April) from $600.

          In these deals you need to find a free return flight date. Those are only available on certain dates.

          I've bought these flights before. So find a free return flight (put in any departure date early on sale period) & then lock in a suitable departure date.

      Found it loads slowly on mobile (without incognito), but may need a refresh. Mobile has worked better in some previous Jetstar deals.

    This deal has been posted too early, based on an educated guess by the OP. The return for free sale that started today is for Bali holiday packages. There is no Japan sale, not yet anyway. The Japan sale may start tomorrow, next week or not at all.

      Jetstar link has shown some deals with prices & dates for many hours. May only work on mobile, as Mod added in deal.

          😴 Saw comment by Gearup that deal was wrong. I suggested waiting for more info at 22:30.

          Went to sleep💤 I never hurry Jetstar deals, & have bought many to Japan.

          Checked around 05:30 to find link to Bali packages instead. So posted Japan link & alerted Mods of issue.

          Then lack of $0 return flights was pointed out, so I needed to correct & point out deal wasn't active yet…

          Finally convinced Mod to pause deal, add Link to all "return free" deals, & add "Update 2018-09-20 9:24am: The updated sale link above is only working on mobiles at the moment, but return flights are not $0 yet. The sale is not yet active."😉

          Been working hard on this deal to get it right, but just get negs😢

        OP was giving advanced warning of upcoming offers, with little information other than past Deals at same time of year.

        We all like that when it works out… Especially with popular Japan deals🇯🇵

        Unfortunately this deal became messy as deal link originally went to a Bali package holiday deal, correct link was posted as comment, but many couldn't get to connect to offer, finally got Mods to understand the issues so Deal was updated… Many still can't see offers.

        And then not active as few offers available & clicking offer you can't get $0 flight back😱

      This is not the Deal you're looking for…

      Travel dates announced so far (only 3 flights) are between mid-Jan & returning early-May

      At this time of the year these are the type of dates offered. Maybe another sale, but it's a bit late for cheap offers so near to departure date. Good luck.

      But can't see it's Jetatar's fault that you are only now looking for deals next month. That rarely happens in these deals, but have flown cheap with 2 weeks notice before.

    I saw the test sale page that Infidel keeps referring to before it was removed. That page said sale ends 7 Oct. There is no way that a return for free sale will last for over two weeks. Assuming Jetstar still goes ahead with a return for free sale, it won't happen for another week or so.

      You are correct - has only been 7 day max deal in past deals. So likely deal won't be active until end of month!

      I've booked cheap Japan flights in last days of previous sales, despite comments deals were sold out. Depends on location & dates.

      As Deal was Paused (until noon) waiting for it to become active, no need for neg. Report deal not available!

      Asked Mod to pause for longer until deal is confirmed active. Have sent Mod a link to your valid comment.

        As per the guidelines a deal with an unknown/indefinite start date should probably go unpublished. In this specific instant the mystery start time only causes angst and confusion for all parties.

        It's not the OP's or your fault but the mod should probably have never allowed speculative start times in the first place.

      Was paused until Noon, assuming would be active by then.

      Use the REPORT button to resolve issues like this. No negs for doing that!

      But asking about "Virgin price matching this deal, whatever it may be" as the basis of a neg meant it wasn't a valid neg vote. So was removed by the community.

      I've got more neg votes than you just trying to fix this mess, hoping it would work😉 But I did Report the Deal around 05:30… It just took a 8 hours to resolve.

      Amazed there have been almost no Reports for this deal. It certainly deserves more to sort this out!

      Mods have acted on my Report - Moved to Forum - a land beyond Deal negs anyway.

    MM not sure what has gone on, I did post indicating that it "might" be the japan return for free sale based on previous years, but looks like its turned out to be Bali Packages,
    in saying that i have seen a few people mention this link https://www.jetstar.com/au/en/deals/japan-return-for-free which now is working, however when i have tried various dates, no luck with finding any $0 flights back.
    It does say ends October 7th which is odd as these sales don't usually go for that long. the other odd thing is usually when they have this type of sale it is plastered all over the net and papers, so there is a small glimmer of hope that possibly it is going to happen but just not yet.

    Apologies again for all the stuffing around, never good when posting a deal which ends in chaos
