  • So every 3 months you buy another one? is that $5.50 per month or for 3 months?

Also how do they do data do they stop you when you reach your limit and you have to top up some more or do they just let you go over and charge you later.

Kogan I know and a few others don't let you download more than your plan and ask you to top up preventing bill shock and surprise data costs.

TPG on PAYG just charged me over $10 twice in two days(for topups), whilst not using my phone.
They do have excess data charges through Voda, so I'll leave this bad deal eventually.

Thanks for the info on TPG but i am curious about PennyTel or is TPG Pennytel?

        Sorry I am confused.

(thanks for informing me about TPG.. they are now off my list because of underhanded excess data charges policies)

Just to make things clear my question was about PennyTel but always curious to know how others manage and do their business.

        • Sorry, I was responding to your "Kogan and a few others don't let you download more than…"

Anyway, Pennytel went broke I think, and was bought out by Mynetphone from memory.

In my experience, it wont be TPG doing the snakey stuff, but Voda the company, that manipulate (within aussie law) user data timing, as example, to create unjustified charges to their mvno's. Shody company.

          Just my opinion.

        • @username02: Ah ok cool no problem. I appreciate all feedback and input on any Telco's and related services.

There needs to be a quick and easy access spreadsheet or chart or website or something with all this information to quickly cross reference especially for people with no time or no money/luxury to afford the extra casual excess data service usage.

I love companies that look after their customer and not just their wallets it is quite rare in this day and age I have been fortunate enough to be on the positive side so far but have heard many horror stories from friends and family.

    • That is per month. I have updated deal.

Data stops once you reach the limit unless you top up data. Info like that can be found in CIS.

No bill shock unless you enable international calls, text from what I can see.

  • International calls PAYG?! A big no no.
