  • out of interest, would these work/fit into a PS3?

    • Depending on the model of the WD hard Drive, Sure it will fit…..but i bought a wd blue and in the latest revision of the drive, it is coded into the firmware to turn the drive off after a peroid of inactivity. This peroid is about 4-8 seconds…so if you want the drive constantly turning on and off in your ps3. go for it.
I returned mine to PCDIY and grabbed a seagate drive. Been perfect!!

  • Yes these will definitely fit into a PS3 :)

  • Delivered nationally for $59? Please add your store/location to title PCWS.

  • black? blue? Model number please.

Their website keeps playing up. SHows qty 99999999 at $5.10. Also showed details of a previous customer.
    Deal is good, website -.

  • "Just got these in, couldn’t believe the price we bought them at :)"

Where did you buy these from ??

    • he could tell you, but that would make you an accessory… best to not ask questions..

Just got these in, couldn’t believe manufacturers still make 5400 RPM drives :)

What's wrong with 5400 RPM drives?

7400 RPM and 5400 RPM might sound big on paper but the difference in real world aren't that large.

      • +5

It's just a pretentious computer nerd, ignore him

        • Just needed to look up pretentious first :)

  • Hmm pity they are not larger - still looking for some cheap non-green 7200rpm 2tb+ drives…

    • +5

You know this is a 2.5" disk right?

  • I've been running 2 of these for over a year 24/7 now, they have been flawless. Speed is ok because they are high density, obviousley they are showing their age, but these are well faster than my 7200rpm drives (160GB, 250GB, 320GB) from the same era, purely due to the higher density.

  • Good deal, but whoever designed their website and checkout process needs to be sent to the gulag for re-education.

  • MSY have
    Seagate 500gb $59 - http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=2480
    WD 500gb $63 - http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=2600
Not sure how they compare to the one in this thread.

    • +3

      Those prices don't include shipping.
Try include postage next time you compare prices.

    • +1

Those prices also doesn't include the time you wait in line for MSY lol

WTF it comes up with the last person who entered their details in check-out. including their phone number and address. that is a major privacy breach. I'm so not using this site.

    • yea same for me! never using this site that's for sure!

  • It's a good deal, but the checkout process is insane.
Saw the previous persons' email, and even other personal details. Pretty lousy checkout design IMHO.

    I also didn't put 42x Hard Drives in my cart…. :p

    • I did too. Andreas, I won't post any other details but he bought 42 drives for $2k+.
I'm definitely not typing my details into their site.

Still a good price so I won't vote the deal down, but people should not buy any until the huge security flaw is fixed.

      • Good luck to Andreas. I hope that Leichhardt is a safe suburb to have such a quantity of hardware :) That is one dodgy website!

Got to neg this as a warning to others that their private information may not be secure….

    • +1

Agree - andy19363 beat me to the punch while re-reading the voting guidelines. Appears to maybe fall into a grey area as far as voting is concerned if it is a good price but I agree the warning needs to be placed or else a mod needs to be alerted to take it down. I didn't look any further down the purchase page but Andreas' details appear basically straight away, address and phone number and I assume credit card details are just a few clicks further down….

        I also reported it….

        edit….action already taken……. Jeez they're good :)

We are working hard on this, first I have heard of the issue, thanks for letting us know. We work hard to stop this sort of thing happening. Our apologies for this fault and we will update with it fixed. This apparently happens on 1/100 orders which is unacceptable by our standards.

  • Situated in the address/same block of outlets as MSY. Unit 2 / 214-224 Wellington Road and MSY are Unit 9 / 214-224 Wellington Road. Affiliated, or giving them a run for their money?

We are here to show people what real service is (apart from our website issue which I have the web guy on it with a whip on his back :P) This was an unforeseen issue wnad we are plugging this. Unfortunately the software we use for our cart cannot be modified too much. I don't like headaches as much as the next person. We just need to fix this when it arises :)

  • Please update once the website issue is fixed.

    • According to the PCWS rep a few posts above "This apparently happens on 1/100 orders" - not sure I would be taking anyone's word that this is fixed given that it has been happening before and wasn't fixed after the previous occassions. 1 in 100 chance of all your personal information being displayed to the next customer - not great odds to my way of thinking.

      • We have spoken to the person who had this happen to them, but we cannot replicate this currently. Still working on it, stay tuned :)

        • Okay just got word from our Web Admin that the security hole has been fixed. Now we can breathe :)

        • you might want to get an admin to reapprove the deal so that we have a link :)
