Damn good card! I have it myself.

should be $500 or under…. protectionism is rubbish for productivity….

  • Is this a good price? I think this is a perfect upgrade to my current Gigabyte 680 OC Windforce. I don't have to upgrade my GA-Z77-D3H motherboard too, do I? I hope not.

BTW how does Cashback works? Looks like Zippay, here I come.

    • mobo stays

      check psu for 8pin

      • Thank you. I'm using 16 pin on my current card now. So should be fine then.

You are all set, though if you can get the G1 version it's better. Windforce is made of cheaper material even though they look identical.

        • @Bigboomboom:

What's the diff between the stock and G1?

        • +2

@pacificstorm: Windforce is cheaper material and has no RGB. RGB improve performance by n percent. But seriously, Windforce is usually cheaply made even though looks identical and usually revised by Gigabyte after X months to be further cheaply made to cut cost even further. G1 used to be their premium model before Aorus, and the 1080 was the last one.

it's not terrible, but it's been cheaper in the past and will only get cheaper. i'd wait unless you have to buy right now.

    • I have a z77-UD3H and upgraded to a 1080 Gigabyte OC card, from two Gigabyte 670 OC Windforce in SLI. All is working well, the price for this card is a steal!!

    • Mate, wait just a few more weeks and you will see much better sales.

very soon 1080 ti will be at this price

    • -2

Unlikely, at launch the 1080 ti had 3% better performance per dollar than the 980 ti at 4k
The 2080 ti has 28% less performance per dollar than the 1080 ti at 4k

      • +6

        I see what you're saying…

Very soon the 2080 ti will be at this price.

Very soon the 2080 ti will be at this price.

          SLI i'd say.

      Great price….for comparison, I sold a used G1 Gaming 1080 for $600 on Gumtree 2 months ago.

Tried the same thing… all i got were scabby 350 offers..

Ever so slightly cheaper here at $638.40 (using code "PHOME20"), https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/332802333851 . Cheaper if you pay with the 10% eBay gift cards from this deal.

  • These things are falling knives, bitcoin is dying. I have a friend who's shutting up shop as his mine is not profitable.

    • +3

it hasn't been feasible to mine bitcoin on GPUs for ages now

      • Completely agree with this, mining with RX series cards are way more efficient and better for value.

        • I think he meant mining Bitcoin instead of other cryptocurrineces like Ethereum etc.

  • Another option is to buy a used 1080ti for about 700.

another option is to play on xbox one x for a couple more years till gpu gouging is over…

You realise that consoles are basically 'gaming laptop' experience without the mobility..

        • -1

except some consoles have games specific to them which you cant get on pc

        • @DiscoJango:

And there are games on pc which you can’t get on consoles. Better yet there are games on ps4 you can’t get on xbone. Your point?

        • I realise they are a much much cheaper 4k gaming experience….and that I can buy more games…..

        • -1

@chubbychicken: you seem upset by other peoples opinions. game less, interact with real humans more!

        • @DiscoJango:

Just pointing out your so called “opinion” had no point.. No need to get offended or make things personal!
