      I got the worst - $20. ;-)

      • actually I clicked the link and it said $20, but I got an email and it said $50 so check your email!

        • Me too

        • The email from eBay said $20, there was a message in my eBay account that said $20, and clicking on the link above takes me to a page that says I can get $20 off…. so I'm thinking it's probably $20 for me (well, my wife's account - my account I had already signed up). ;-)

        • +4

The email is crap…. email said I got $60 but when I click the link it says $20… reported to Ebay and they said they'll take a look into it

          • @Qmar: Happened to me too. Did they sort out?

      • Me too

      • MeToo

      • +2

Indeed; what do you have to do to get in eBay's good books?

        • +3

spend $1000 each month for 19 consecutive years

        • @dragonindespair:
ive spent more that that this week and i got a $20 :/

        • @dragonindespair:

And to think, you could have bought a house by now :-)

        • @Bruno28:

You've spent more than $228,000 on eBay this week?

        • @strangeloops66:
no, but i spend $1000 or more a month for the last 1-2 years.

        • @chrism238: yes beacuse $3k buys me a house.
Why buy now when you can buy one in the next 2 years with 30-50% off? Invest now, save and buy on the crash ;)

      • Me too

      • Same here

      • I got $20 as well….

      • I got $20 too. Going to hold out.

      • me too, $20 offer only

  • Is this an annual fee or one time payment?

    • Annual fee.

I am currently on the free trial and got the 'Get a $40 eBay Gift Card when you join Plus!' email.

Accepting the offer, "Unfortunately, this promotional offer isn't available to you."

      That's cold by eBay

    • Unfortunately, this promotional offer isn't available to you.

      SAME

      well - stick EBAY.

My email says $20. And the link tells me 20 as well. T T

You are eligible for the $20 eBay Gift Card if:

You sign up for a free eBay Plus 30-day trial with PayPal between 3rd – 30th of September and pay your annual membership fee on the day after your trial concludes; or
You have completed a free 30-day trial and:
ceased receiving all eBay Plus benefits and
rejoin eBay Plus with PayPal between 3rd – 30th September and
pay the $49 annual fee between 3rd – 30th September
You are not eligible for the $20 eBay Gift Card if you sign up for eBay Plus 3rd – 30th September and cancel your membership before the end of your 30 day trial.

    • Same :(

    • Same here, only $20. Already paid $29 for it on my main account so essentially this is the same thing in just a more convoluted way of getting it.

Here are the T&Cs for the $50 offer: https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions2
Here are the T&Cs for the $60 offer: https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions3
    I couldn't find the T&Cs for the $40 offer

If you didn't receive the email you can check if your account has the $50 offer here: https://www.rsvp.ebay.com.au/rsvp/subscription/signup/50332/…

    • +3

T&Cs for the $40 voucher. Turns out it's just 'conditions1' at the end…
      https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions1

That's what I got and thought it was pretty good. Disappointed now I didn't get $50 or $60…

      • +1

Oh yeah, back to kindergarten for me then!

        • +1

I signed up through your $50 link though, so maybe I'll be lucky and get that one…
Either way $9 for eBay plus is probably worth it. Don't think it's worth much more than that though…

          • @NigelTufnel: Just chatted to ebay about why my gift card hadn't come yet. Said I'd signed up for the $50 gift card. Their response

I checked your account and you are eligible for the $40 eBay Gift card promotion.
However, due to the demand of the promotion we are experiencing a delay in sending out the Gift cards. Please be assured that you are eligible and that you will receive your $40 Gift card by 5th of October.

So looks like I'm not getting $50, but the $40 I got the email for.

    • +1

i got the $40 offer but i used your link to get the $50 offer applied! Thanks for posting.

      • How do we know if we are receiving $40 or $50 ? Is it after you click Subscribe Now button?

        • No, you should know which offer you have applied for before you hit the 'Subscribe' button. If you use the link from my comment and you can successfully accept the eBay offer on that page then your eBay account should be signed up for the $50 gift card offer.

If on the eBay page you get "Unfortunately, this promotional offer isn't available to you" or "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only" then it is not targeted to you and you will have to try either the $40 or $60 offers (once someone else posts a link to those offer acceptance pages - which I don't think has happened yet)

        • @tomclancy: i got this message: $49 eBay Plus Gift Card Promotion
No free trial period, T&Cs apply.
Does it mean I got the $50 ? If we get $40, will it say $40 ebay Plus gift card Promotion?

        • +1

@yht: You got the same message I did, so I believe you have activated the $50 offer on your eBay account. Now you need to hit the 'Subscribe' button to actually go through with the eBay Plus subscription which costs $49 to receive the $50 bonus gift card. I don't know how to tell it's on your account so maybe confirm with eBay chat first if you are entitled before subscribing to eBay Plus

Regarding your second question, I don't know what the $40 gift card offer says as I didn't sign up for that one

      • +2

Hopefully the OP or someone else who received the $60 offer posts the signup link from their email :)

        • That’s not how targeted works usually. You have to sign in to see what offer you have.

    • +1

disappointed :( 'Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.'

      • +1

If the OP or someone else who received a $40 or $60 offer posts the signup link from their email then you have two more bites at the cherry

        • +1

$40 sign up link seems to be the same as the $50 one you posted above (at least, once you're redirected from the email link): https://www.rsvp.ebay.com.au/rsvp/subscription/signup/50332/…

Mod: Removed second rover link as it sets off affiliate detection and it simply redirects to the above link.

        • @NigelTufnel: The link directly from my eBay email was very long with lots of tracking, however after it loaded on the eBay page then it reverted to a shorter, non-tracking link like the one I posted. Can you please post the post-loading eBay link?

EDIT: mods have re-published above comment. So the signup link is the same as my $50 offer??? That's good news I guess. But it also means you don't know which offer you are signing up to - could be either $20, $40, $50 or $60. I guess it depends on the email you received? And for those who didn't receive an email… then what???

    • +1

I get "$49 eBay Plus Gift Card Promotion" when I click the last link.

      • Then you've successfully accepted the $50 gift card offer

        • I've done the same but how can you confirm that you will receive the $50 gift card? When I look in the terms and conditions, it says I will receive $20.

Do you just have to accept and pay and trust you will receive the $50 one?

        • @pacman21: Yes, no way to check. The T&Cs you linked to are not the same. Here are the T&Cs for the $50 promotion that I linked to: https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions2

I guess if you didn't receive the targeted email then you will just have to wait and see. You could always ask eBay Chat but you might not want to highlight this to them either. Historically, when I haven't received an eBay targeted email for free listings but I click the sign-up link posted on OzBargain then the offer is activated successfully on my account. Hopefully it's the same here

EDIT: NigelTufnel just posted the $40 signup link and it's exactly the same as the $50 signup link. Assuming the $20 and $60 are also the same links, then there is no way for those who didn't receive the email to know what offer they have… $20, $40, $50 or $60

        • @tomclancy:

Thanks just to confirm, if you click on the RSVP link you provided and click on the terms and conditions link, what gift card amount does it say for you? $50 or $20? (keeping in mind you received $50 info via email)

        • +1

@pacman21: on the eBay page when I clicked the T&Cs link it took me to the $20 gift card T&Cs. HOWEVER, in my email (subject is "Get a $50 eBay Gift Card when you join Plus!") it had a different link to T&Cs mentioning the $50 bonus. So I suspect it really does come down to which email you received. For those people who didn't receive the email but signed up using the above link it's a lucky dip as to what bonus gift card you will receive

        • +1

          @tomclancy:

Thanks for the info. Decided to chat to one of the reps and they said the promotional offer I've received is for the $20 gift card.

But in saying that, it sounds like all they did was go to the RSVP link and click on the T&Cs. Might wait to see if some more information pops up!

    • If you didn't receive the email you can check if your account has the $50 offer here:

"Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only."

    • Just went to check via the link you provided to see if I got the offer. It actually signed me up! I still hadn't decided to pull the trigger yet:(

      • It hasn't signed you up to eBay plus, it had only registered the offer to your eBay account should you then choose to subscribe to eBay plus later.

Unless you followed my link, then clicked "Subscribe" button, then accepted the eBay plus t&c's, then agreed to the PayPal recurring payment, then accepted the PayPal one touch payment…

        • Thanks for the clarification. I was waiting for a confirmation email that never came, which supports what you are saying. The ebay page is confusing though. It says that I have accepted the promotion (which I hadn't, just checked it), and provided a start and end date and time for the offer, leading me to believe it was activated.

        • @endotherm: yeah, it's a bit confusing how eBay promotions work. Typically you need to accept the offer to your account and then later proceed to use the offer. Guess I'm used to it by now. The link I gave Auto accepts the offer to your account, no other way to check if it's available on your account though

  • been a loyal ebay customer for years .. and they went all out and offered me $20
    well … fk that!

    • +3

Keep a mix of loyal and disloyal accounts.

      • Can you use plus trial on these new accounts?

  • +4

Got an email saying $60 gift card but the link takes me to a landing page that says I'll get $20?

    • I got the same as well.

  • Got an email says I will get $60 eBay gift card but click on accept offer only $20. Which one is correct?

    • +2

I'd just contact their support to clear it up. If you got the email, I'm sure they'll make it right.

      • Contacted support and they said too bad

        • Did they say regardless of the email you only get $20 back?

    • I have the same. Also If I click the check $50 link posted above it says I have $50. Who knows.

  • Is there a particular part of your eBay account you need to opt in to receive these kinds of offers? I've been an eBay member for ~15 years, and I never seem to get any of the targeted offers for anything. I must be doing something wrong!

    • +1

      Maybe signup for their junkmail.

    • +2

You need to go to your account under Communication Preferences and click General email promotion under Promotions and survey heading.

      • Thanks. I'd checked that previously, and still get nothing. Maybe I should sign up a 2nd account to see if it's any different

  • +5

eBay dogged me only offering the $20 gift card :(

  • +1

I got $60 in the email but $20 on the page. Will wait for a couple of days - looks like they did not update their offers

  • +2

I got the email TWICE. Both for $20. Not gonna bite.

  • -1

Just sold my Google Home Mini and make a profit of $40 (So in the end I paid $9 for a year of eBay Plus). Would have preferred S60 voucher though, I think. Can use it to buy other gift cards.

  • I got the $50 offer and signed up instantly

    • Nice, are you a regular ebay shopper?

      • Definitely. Plenty of small things and the occational big ticket item.

  • +1

$20 offer, well they gotta do better than that if they want me to sign up

  • -1

Seems 30 days trails + $20 voucher could be a better deal

    • You only get the voucher after the trial has been finished

      • I haven't done the offer and got the $20 voucher.

  • I got the $50 one. Signed up right away.

  • +1

The card expires 3 years after the date of issue. Nice !!

  • -2

I got one $40 for the $49 - NOTING that my trial membership actually FINISHES around that day - the 30 Sept - which is my birthday !!!

Of course I might as well take it up - ebay Plus for $9 a year.

it's desperate times for these companies like eBay and Amazon

(Add that to my AMEX - Amazon Prime membership deal - and i've saved a few $$$ on these via OzB.

(*** and note another Netflix free trial .. please come back to us email today as well …)

    • how do u get netflix free trials

  • I got the $40 offer. Only problem is I've already completed a trial month and signed up for paid service, weeks ago.

Two other accounts only got the $20 offer.

  • +3

Feel bad for everyone who actually signed in the early days

    • …what if we opt out and then opt back in, since we can't pay as we're already on it, do we still get it?

      • Tried that, doesn't work.. I signed on 15 days ago (with 15 to go for free)..now I saw this and cancelled as I'm not happy with that approach… no gift card for me…

        • Damn that's a shame….

    • +3

      Geez have a Snickers.

    • And who the f*** uses tinypic, some people are the biggest amateurs when it comes to the internet… sigh

im sorry you disapprove of my choice of random free image host I used for this posting

I'll check with you next time before posting

      • OzBargain literally offers their own free image hosting that isn't riddled with ads and crap.

        • +2

That isn't riddled with ads and crap

No, just people who complain about stuff…
