[Update 3 - samsung seems to have applied a quota of 2 wearables per account (you can see your limit under the "My Quota" menu under your personal detail menu icon). This will limit scalpers, but also people offering to help others.
Stock looks like there's 300 4G 46mm models left]

Update 4 - 85 4G 46mm units left as of 29/09

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch is 40% off via the Samsung Enhanced Partnership Programs website. This is a preorder to be delivered on/after the 3rd like everywhere else, i.e. if your company has a corporate benefit relationship with Samsung, you can register your existing Samsung account by activating it using your company email address. I can confirm working for Westpac and Telstra.

To test, check with your company’s corporate benefits. I simply modified the URL below accordingly with "Telstra" or "Westpac" to see if the companies have a relationship. But you still need a work email to receive the activation link.

Once activated you will see a huge banner saying 40% off RRP for all models from the 42mm BT model up to the 46mm 4G model
4G model was out of stock over the weekend but restocked this morning so be quick.

Inventory appears to be shared with retail offers from the Samsung Pay App deal, which is the next best thing if you can’t get this deal:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/404243

You also get free express delivery and if you really wanted the dual charger, its $20 off via the corporate site as well.
And no you cannot stack the Samsung Pay deal with this 40% offer (I already tried :P)

This is a killer deal as you save $260 with free shipping on the 4G 46mm model. For comparison, the Gear S3 Classic/Frontier were previously being offered for $350 more than a year after launch and previous deals were still around $300.

So $300-389 for a preorder with 7 days battery life and optional 4G is unbeatable.

@Samsung - please dont kill me for sharing this deal to 7000+ of my friends

  • Is there anyone with non-samsung phone and got one number working? Telstra told me that only Samsung phones are supported.

    • Not working for me.. says it won't connect. Interesting conversations on crowdsupport threads.. saying it won't be supported on the watch for up to a week?

Annoys me. Was hoping to have it set up with One Number ASAP to my Google Pixel..

I also read on here that you don't need to call Telstra to organise One Number, and that it'd occur automatically on setup?

      • I was just told by a rep that it is only available for iPhones and not Android devices.
Clearly no-one at Telstra actually know what is happening!

Fingers crossed it will be compatible with the Pixel soon.

        • So @Shads, I read a little more - according to Telstra, One number will only work when connected to a Samsung phone. 'non-Samsung android phones will come soon'. Apparently it's not to do with Telstra, and more or less to do with Samsung software. Edit: Just realised op mentioned all of the above..

If it's not out in a week, I'm selling it. Doesn't serve its purpose for me. What a shame..!

          • @passwordistaco: Yeh I only bought the LTE model to link up with my Telstra mobile so would be a shame if I spent the extra cash and not being able to use it anytime soon! Fingers crossed…

  • Got my 42mm Bluetooth one today. Wondering if I should have got a 46mm now, even with my tiny wrists.

    • 46mm is worth it just for the battery capacity alone.

      • The weight difference is significant though, you wouldn't notice it thinking 49g vs 63g but because the weight is all in one, it is significantly bulkier and heavier when you compare them side by side.

        • According to the watch, I'm going to get 2 days of battery life from it at the moment after a full charge. It's tempting to pre-order the 46mm one and just offload the one I like the least to a friend.

          • @iRMonkey: Why to sell? We can return it to Samsung as its their fault. Its not mentioned on the website that you need a Samsung phone for One Number setup.

Just curious, how many of you are like me still waiting for the delivery when StarTrack said it should be delivered today?

    • +1

      Same

    • +1

More annoyingly that the tracking hasnt changed status ….

    • +1

Same last scan 2am and sitting in sydney

    • +1

      Same

    • +1

same, said it was out for delivery from 9am, then at 6.43pm showed as delivery attempt at a suburb other than mine. Go figure Auspost

    • I am in Brisbane and my last scan was at Sydney at 11pm Tuesday, it is now Thursday morning, do you think they could have lost my parcel?

  • +2

thanks OP for the great deal. received watch today - sydney. Feel for those who did not receive theirs today… hope it gets to you safely tomorrow. never had one of these watches before - what are some good apps to download/watch faces etc?

    • Facer app

  • I'm after 46mm silver LTE in Melbourne if anyone is willing to help!

  • How many people would have bought this at rrp?

    • +1

I probably would have got it at 20% off. But no way full retail.

      • +1

For most OzB's the RRP would be more than the phone it's paired to lol

        • Haha this is so true. But I feel there's also a sizeable group of Ozbargainers that are using iPhones, and this wouldn't be cheaper than almost all but the oldest iPhones.

  • No discount now in my staff portal, not even the usual 20%

  • +1

Startrack seems useless. Watch is still sitting at Sydney. I called and they are just giving vague answer like flight cancellation.

    • +1

how long has it been sitting in Sydney? Mine is 33 hours already!

  • +1

So where is everyone getting their screen protectors and different bands from? Ebay? still waiting on my watch atm least its at my local depot

    • +1

I think Amazon also has some.

  • Just called StarTrack and they told me there might be an issue with the parcel that is why it hasn't left Sydney since Tuesday. That is just a load of …

If they lost my parcel, will Samsung send another?

    • +1

You need to call Samsung. I was told only Samsung can ask Star Trak to launch an investigation and dig deeper.

      • +2

I called star track at 2pm yesterday and they told me 'not sure why it's pending', 'I'll open a case and it will assigned to a case officer and they'll contact you at your number'.

No call obviously, nor any movement on the tracking.

Hope Samsung gets a record of undelivered ones at least.

    • +3

it is now changed to "onboard for delivery". fingers crossed.

      • +2

Same as of 8.40 this morning. Mrs is home today luckily!

      • +1

        Got mine

      • got mine too. seal is fine. charging now.

        • +1

Nice one, mine's at home - and I'm not there.. waiting continues

    • Just called samsung and they said mine is on hold at startrack in Melbourne depot for some reason and he needs to investigate further. So much for delivery on the 3rd!
Update : I used my work address, and Startrack was holding onto delivery because they didn't know if it was a business or residential address and wanted confirmation. Not that anyone even tried to contact me! Crazy, considering I've ordered heaps of stuff online without using the business name, but just my name, and its been delivered via Startrack without any issues before

      • It's a Samsung requirement, not StarTrack.

      • if you've purchased using PayPal, just open a dispute and things will automatically start moving. It's an issue with StarTrack - had the same issue and my watch ended up going back to Samsung's warehouse. And Samsung have the worst customer support ever - even the senior resolution managers are lame and slack, so don't have any hopes on either StarTrack or Samsung.

  • Bummer! How'd I miss this?! 😭
    You snooze you lose.
Was hanging out for a 46mm Bluetooth!

    • +1

      You snoozed.

      • +1

        For like a week lol

        • I'm obviously not as good an OzBargainer as I thought I was 😭

    • Me too :(

  • Got mine yesterday, a 4G model - called Telstra, they don't seem to have their processes in place yet for activating eSIMs for these.

Also the Telstra website states that LTE wont be usable on my OnePlus :

    Things you need to know

    · From launch, Telstra One Number will only be compatible when Galaxy Watch is used with a Samsung Android handset. It will not be compatible when Galaxy Watch is used with Non-Samsung Android handsets. This feature will be coming soon. In the meantime, non-Samsung Android handset owners can still connect Galaxy Watch via Bluetooth.

    Source: https://www.telstra.com.au/aboutus/media/media-releases/Tels…

    • +1

Not quite, it just means to set up the eSim on your watch, you will need a Samsung phone but once you have it activated, you can then revert to using your OnePlus. Either borrow a friend's Samsung phone or drop into a Telstra store and ask them if you can borrow one.

      • Oh good tip - so if I put my physical SIM into a Samsung phone I'll be able to setup eSIM on the watch by pairing to that phone, then move it back into my phone?

        • +1

Yep, I believe so (from reading another person's experience).

          • @Pecan: Oh wow.. keen to know if this actually works. If anyone tried this out - can they share their experience?

              • @Pecan: Edit: Shitty archive view wouldn't let me change page.

                • +1
                  • @Pecan: Yeah found it when i realised there were no extra pages. Thanks.

                    • @Rumstein: Yep, worked for me. I had a lot of issues (myaccount wasn't linked to mobile number from when it was brought over as a business service, non Samsung phone etc) but got there in the end using a colleague's phone.

I set it up on his phone, disconnected, went into the watch and chose "connect to a new phone" under connections which did a factory reset, however as soon as it paired with my OnePlus it detected the network.

                      • @Domingo: Mine just says "Couldn't set up service" no matter how many times I retry on my Pixel 2 (set up One Number initially on my broken-screen old S4).

Anything special you had to do?

Edit: Looks similar to what Fred described. I have "Standalone - Telstra" on the watch when phone is in flight mode, will see if it works.

                        • @Rumstein: I didn't need to do the "set up service" thing on the watch after connecting it on the first phone - in fact that step opened and failed. However when I went into settings > connections > mobile networks, I was able to set it to "always on" and play with all the network settings.

I included logging into my Samsung account and backing up settings on the Samsung phone before moving it over to my OnePlus. Not sure if that helped.

  • Looks like the discount is back on, but I'm only getting 20% dsicount

    • The store has 20% discount normally. There are occasionally higher discounts as promotions, this was one.

      • Well it went back back up to full RRP so I was just saying the discount came back on for 20% off

  • Mine arrived this morning, and it has the broken security seal. Son of a bitch.

    • Is it just the tapes being shyte? — Anyone got a photo before opening?

      • The security seal has been opened straight along the box line. I'll get a picture.

I just talked to Samsung, rep said there have been multiple reports of this, but there haven't been any cases of stuff missing or tampered with inside the box. See told me to take a picture of the seal before opening the box, and to then go ahead and open it and check everything.

She also said it was completely up to me whether I opened it up or just send it back, but it is about a month turnaround time, at this point, if I return it. Dammit.

I'll take the pictures and open it, the other tape is perfectly intact, so it should be okay.

        • I went ahead and did a replacement. They weren't really keen on me keeping it either. And so, they organised a same day pickup of the product but and eta for new item is 1 to 3 weeks.

        • Mine looked close to that but it wasn't broken.

        • -1

that's bit bad. I would think Samsung surely opened up number of overseas imported cases - may be to replace accessories to AU type just to fulfill all orders?

          • @virtualds: It's possible.

But when I called them, the rep blamed the courier, which seems very strange. Why would Startrack open the security seal but nothing else? Or even at all? They aren't QA department, just the delivery.

Sounds like passing the buck excuse. Whatever, watch looks fine.

          • @virtualds: With the broken seals, are people finding them on BT or LTE, maybe as devang153 said could be a certain model with shortages which they've backfilled?

            • @Archer12: The posted images are for LTE (says LTE+Bluetooth).

Mine was properly sealed on arrival (Note I ordered a set of IconX earbuds as well, so sealed StarTrack bag as well), and the items/boxes inside were individually bagged (LTE+Bluetooth).

            • @Archer12: I had 46mm Bluetooth and a 46mm 4g arrive today at the same time. The 4g security tap looked in perfect shape. The Bluetooth box looked clearly like it's been opened.

            • @Archer12: Mine is a Bluetooth version 42 mm rosegold

        • +1

This thing looks big next to my Gear S2 watch. https://www.dropbox.com/s/oxn5m64ja3hiyww/20181004_140151.jp…

          I'm happy with it.

          • @AdosHouse: Yeap, still have warranty so if any issues deal with it then

        • Mine looks exactly like this

      • +1

Watch appears 100% brand new, not a single fingerprint or blemish on all the factory plastics or surfaces.

    • +1

Just picked mine up. Seal wasn't broken but it was definitely getting there. I think the wear and tear of the delivery likely causes it rather than anything sinister.

      • +2

I think you are on the money wingman. My seal was not fully broken but was a bit raggity. I think that is exactly what is happening, the sticker is not very strong and getting rattled in the deliver van is probably what is breaking them.

  • +2

Ordered mine yesterday. Arrived today all sealed up. Setup on the note 9 pretty easily. There was speculation about business accounts possibly not working with an esim but I had no issues.

  • +1

Just received mine. Perfectly sealed. Even box wrapped in plastic from outside. 46mm bluetooth version. Thanks OP for the deal.

  • +2

Good results here, I ordered 3pm on 3rd, had it at 12 noon today 4th - the 4G 46MM Black\Silver. Simply Brilliant (my first smart watch thou).
Note 9 setup was a breeze except for the activating LTE part - Telstra needed to do a bit on my account.

Box condition - perfect, outer of box was wrapped in a plastic 'packet', that was wrapped (loosely) in small sheet of bubble wrap.
The bubble wrap to some extent was cleary worn - and the outer 'satchel' startrak package was extremely worn, creased, looks like lots of other parcels packaging\label ink had rubbed off.

IF other's didn't have those extra layers of plastic and bubble wrap, just the direct box inside the satchel bag - considering 1000's of these watches shipped together, I am not surprised at a little seal damage from the box shifting and moving - one seal is a lot stronger than the other, so easily could put the force on the weaker seal etc. Still .. each to their own, have to be happy with your purchase. If the seal was 'torn' insead the bubble wrap\plastic - and that's not damaged itself or the satchel not torn\creased in some way - then I doubt its courier - and probably at the staging\release facility.

Finally - Just wanted to thank the very generous person in this thread that helped me out with the process.. you know who you are and what you did :P Belief in humanity - restored :P

  • +1

Git my watch and though the outer package was worn the internal packaging was perfect. Thanks to @furythree

  • I am really disappointed with this limitation of LTE connectivity with Samsung phones only. Without a confirmed date, it can take anytime from a week to few months to a year. I feel that samsung knew it but deliberately kept buyers in dark as they know that if we dont buy now, in few months there will be other watches in the market and they will be supported by telcos as well.

  • Finally got watch this morning. The satchel is so bashed around even the blue print has been rubbed off. You can see stress on the black paper security sticker, so I would be guessing most of these broken seals have been from the rough handling during transport rather than anything sinister.

    • rather than anything sinister.

      Says Sammyboy lol

  • Hi Guys,

I have the 46 lte version (lte off, because I am with Optus). I found the battery drain is crazy. Very average use with screen off most of the time, it will drain 50% from morning to night. The main App draining is Samsung health but I have all activity tracking off. Anyone got similar issues??

    • +1

I have below setting and getting around 2 days and 14-20 hours backup
      Wifi- off
      GPS - on always
      LTE-off

      Night mode on at night.

      • how about always on display? if AOD is on, 2 days is pretty decent.

      • Why WiFi off?

      • Also 46mm version?

  • Thank you OP

AND cwongtech for getting me 1.

Will read thru the many comments, but are people happy with their watches?
    Any issues (software or hardware)?

    • +1

I had to set notifications to all and reboot both phone and watch to get notifications working for wechat and whatsapp. Then disabled the notifications for the apps I didn't want.

      • Thanks for comment, anyone else have this issue?
