        • Wow had no idea you could do this

But wouldn't you need to buy Optus SIM to be eligible for this deal as a port in?

What's the difference between moving a existing Telstra plan (out of contract) to the $45 - 25gb

        • ∆ I'd like to know this as well, our 24mth Telstra plan just ended. Could we take advantage of this without porting out to another network?

    • Thanks, really don't know about this. I did a quick search and here is another reference

This deal looks great, after @Chards reported now "$45 a month now gets you 50 gigs"

  • I was with Voda. I have just taken advantage of this and ported over to Telstra on the 12m $45. Fairly decent deal and used the $200 to buy a Moto G5s, which is a cracking phone (already have one). So, a phone for $49 and plan at $45pm with 25gb data is pretty decent!

  • Hey guys. if the mrs is on Aldi mobile, do i still need to port her out? or can i take advantage of this deal immediately

    • just saw the comments above, missed that the first time.

      cheers

  • Ported out to Voda Friday, JB refused to port back in at first with the $200 gift card but allowed me to sign up minus the gift card due to only porting our 4 days earlier. Was able to do the same fine earlier in the year. Mileage definitely varies.

    • If this happened to me I would simply say thanks no thanks and get someone else to assist. Or return another time.

  • Anyone tried for the $10 port in credit? Asked instore and was told to ring Telstra after signing up which doesn't give me confidence

  • Would this now be signing up for a plan with JBHIFI and not Telstra like before?

Also, do you get $300 or $500 for a phone worth exactly $999 like the pixel 2 XL?

  • Your milage definitely varies. We ported our Telstra plan over to Optus prepaid at 6.30pm tonight, went over to JB at 8pm and ported back over and got the $200 gift card.

Really depends on the person you get whether or not they bother checking. Just be polite and make small talk :)

  • +5

These have have now been updated as of today, the $45 a month now gets you 50 gigs and the $65 now gets you 80 gigs.

I was told yesterday in store to wait till today to port the number across so i can make the most of the new deal.

    • $45 for 50Gb per month is pretty sweet…$200 GC is sugar on top.

    • Hey can you point me to anywhere that references this? We literally signed up last night. surely they'd be able to add the additional data to our plan?

    • My local JB only offer $45/month for 25GB and port in only for $200 gift card, no GC for new customer.

    • Are you sure about this?
