Only $2 more than what I paid for a 1060 2 years ago. Funnily enough that makes it a bargain.

    • It's $170 cheaper than what I paid for a GTX 1060 on launch date. It's still a bargain, what a roller coaster price has been.

The bards will sing the song of turbulent GPU time, great SSD War and haphazard RAM famine for many generations to come.

  • Need some help here, GPU experts!
This or this. I don't play games. Just to watch some 4k movies, youtube and basic web browsing.
Thinking of mining some crypto in the near future. basically future proofing. currently using 512MB geForce 9600 GT.

"Thinking of mining some crypto in the near future"
Don't bother, the only people that make money are those with server / GPU farms.

      "basically future proofing"
If you don't play games, all you need is a GPU that can help with 4K output. Future outputs, such as 8K @60hz, will need HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.5, both of which aren't available on GPUs yet.

This 1060 and the cheaper 570 OC is vastly more powerful than what you need. Nvidia 1030 Silent or AMD 550 / 460 is more than enough for 4K resolutions and videos.

        What a Fab(ulous)man!!! Thanks!
I was thinking of this as it has 3 years warranty and only need 6 pins which I have. Ive 650w PSU. not sure if the 6 pin to 8 pin will work perfectly.
9600gt has served me well for the last 9 years. Just wanted to upgrade to something better
