  • is it v1 or v2?

    • +1

Going by the images they look like v2.
Doubt JB would be selling v1's.

Great timing. Will need a couple of controllers for fifa 19 rage XD

    • +2

YESSSSS, FIFA should just come with a new controller

I have a controller with messed up grips and one with no grips.

      • I assume you're talking about the grips on the analog sticks? V2 definitely improved on the shitty V1 rubber so might be worth an upgrade! Would be nice if it were free though 😜

        • Yeh both V1. Hopefully V2 will hold up until ps5

Came here to say the same thing!

          Agreed.

It feels like everything PS related has some kind of sale at jbhifi but the PS4 Pro. Here I am considering buying one without waiting for black friday, but it seems like there is no vaguely acceptable sale on.

    • +1

      Haha, yes. Whenever I see something tagged PS4 I'm like…this is it!..oh.

I've just accepted ill have to wait until black friday/cyber Monday.

      • I would be happy even with a semi acceptable deal, if that meant having the PS4 in time for the long weekend. I guess it won't happen.

    • Have you got a standard PS4? or is this your first foray into get a playstation? I did the EB trade in deal for the old PS4, and ended up getting $240 worth of value for a launch day console towards a PRO, which is about $100 more than you'd be able to sell it yourself on gumtree. Probably the only decent deal EB does.

  • Gonna wait til midnight and see if they accidentally make them all that price lol

  • +1

Side note.. Why are there ZERO decent prices for a ps4 pro? Should be in the high 300s for an OZB deal like it was earlier in the year… Not seen anything since. Pricing is terrible at the moment since the XB1X creams it spec wise

    • Rumour is there's a shortage of PS4 pros as Sony are hoarding them for upcoming RDR2 bundles. Should see better prices after it's release.

      • I heard they also halted production of the standard Pros for a while so they could churn out as many Spider-man editions as possible.

  • How are these on the nvidia shield? My 8bitdo is a bit dodgy with connecting to devices consistently and always liked the feel of these.

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy from eBay with the 15% off that's on tomorrow ?

    • Would it?

    • Last Dualshock 4 I got from eBay was a fake.
It had pics of the real controller and the title said official. After that I don't trust eBay for this item.

      • You should get a refund for that

        • I had the same thing happen with a ds3 eight years ago. Ebay didnt refund then and their worse now

      • Why did someone neg me. All I'm saying is there are fakes on eBay and I wouldn't recommend it.
Go ahead and buy the fake ones if you want. They sell the for same price as genuine controllers.

  • Are they selling cheap psplus?

    • Doesn't look like it at present. Keep an eye on the PS Store, though - they tend to have sales on PS+ on a fairly regular basis. Either cheaper or extended eg get 15 months for price of 12, etc. There will probably be a sale on there in the run up to Christmas if they don't do one sooner.

  • Can I use these to play games on my PC, anyone know? :)

    • +2

      Yes you can

    • +1

It might be slightly fussier to use (esp. in indie games) than an xbox controller but it's popular enough that there should be a fix for any issues you might run into, if ever.

    • I notice EB sell an adapter to use it wirelessly with PC.

      • Or just buy any generic Bluetooth 4.0 adapter.

        • It will be 7 bucks and 90% smaller.

    • You can pair these with bluetooth and a piece of software on windows and linux.
You can also just connect them via USB.
In additon, they work on the PS3 via USB.

I actually bought one of these from ebay, and it allows me to plug it into my Nintendo Switch, PC, Phone, etc:
      http://www.8bitdo.com/wireless-usb-adapter/

Basically, it pairs with the DS4 (or other controllers) and emulates a Switch Pro Controller (for the Switch), and an Xbox 360 controller (for other devices).

      • Whoah thx mate, was looking for a second DS4 adapter but no one sells it no more.

Gonna hunt for this 8bitdo ver!

  • Can anyone recommend a specific brand/model USB cable for connecting a DS4 controller?

I have about 5 or 6 USB -> Micro-USB cables and they all feel loose in the controller. I'm using the controller with PC and find it easier to keep the wired connection, but if the cable moves in certain directions I'm losing connectivity. I found 1 generic USB cable that fits perfectly, so I know it can fit tight, but it's only 30cm long.

Anyone have a similar issue / suggestion?
