Free HDMI 2.0 cable for Foxtel 4k subscribers.

(Must have received email)

Select locations across Australia - https://www.foxtel.com.au/content/dam/foxtel/shared/pdf/foxt…

Foxtel customers will be able to collect a Foxtel approved HDMI2.0 cable free of charge from the list of participating stores below.

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Click here for a list of locations that will be able to provide you with a cable free of charge before the Great Race.

  2. Show a copy of the 4K email you received from us recently.

  3. Collect your new HDMI2.0 cable.

Don't leave it to the last minute. From tomorrow, Foxtel's 4K channel will start playing a looped 4K reel. This is so you can make sure you're receiving the 4K broadcast correctly - before the Great Race kicks off on Sunday. In the case you're not receiving the broadcast:

• Do you have a compatible 4K TV?
• Is your iQ4 connected to your TV with a HDMI2.0 cable (our cable has blue ends)?
• Don’t have a HDMI 2.0 cable? A limited number of locations can provide you with a cable free of charge#, otherwise please contact us and we can arrange for one to be sent out.

What's next? Free power cable for your IQ4 box? Typical foxtel.

It’s not everyday a billion dollar company gives away a $3 cable!

  • Does it have Anti Virus Protection?

Screw foxtel. Amazed they have any subscribers left.

  • Howe long is the cable?

  • Is your iQ4 connected to your TV with a HDMI2.0 cable (our cable has blue ends)?

I recently got Foxtel as a new install and the iQ4 came with the HDMI cable with blue ends. Can only think Foxtel stuffed up by sending out iQ4 boxes for upgrades without a 4K compatible HDMI cable.

  • For 4K subscribers only. So it's a free cable to go with the equipment you buy from them, that's necessary to get what you are paying for. Not a deal.

  • I only came to see all the foxtel jokes.

    • Best one is in the deal title.

  • This could be for the IQ 3.5 users that have now had the fw update to 4 but did not get a HDMI 2.0 cable.

But I agree, not a deal but more of a PSA to check your email?

I assume they mean 'High Speed HDMI cable' as there's no such thing as an "HDMI 2.0" cable.

  • Went to Rexel Thomastown to claim my free cable.
Got flat out refused by Rexel as they knew nothing about it.

Called Foxtel and was advised to pay for the cable and Foxtel will waive off the cable price for me.
Paid $10.6 for the 3m high speed cable.
The cable wasn't the one with the blue ends.
