2610

Thanks to grumps, for all invalid claims please call 1800 308 388 and explain your situation. They should escalate the claim.

Greetings everyone, a friend of mine found this great deal last night in the first choice catalogue.

Purchase 2 Cases of Heineken or Heineken 3 beer in one transaction from First Choice Liquor or Vintage Cellars and get the newly released UE Megaboom 3!

When you add up the cost of the cases, the cheapest current deal you can seem to get Heineken 3 Cases are from Dan's for $39.90 each which you can then price match at First Choice, netting $79.80 in total and $179.80 for the whole bundle which is a great price for the speaker itself.

Heineken cases currently seem to be around $44.95 each at most stores. Please make sure you check around and price match at First Choice before you buy!!

Closing date to purchase the beer is 15/11/18 and closing date for entering the submission is 22/11/18.

There are 7,590 speakers available for purchase in the promotion.

There is a $1.50 admin fee mentioned in the FAQ:

How much do I pay for delivery?
The $100 (plus $1.50 admin fee) offer includes delivery by mail.

As always, enjoy!

@Pootie Tang: I guess learning about "grift" is my takeaway from this promo. Thank you Heineken. And to all who wants to learn like me:

They've said it was a glitch, so just sit tight and I'm sure they'll send everyone valid approvals.

    • With another submission?

      • +1

No they will still honour the first submission. I believe they just bulk sent out incorrect emails. I got one saying not approved then one 2 minutes later saying approved. But the link in the approved email didn't work. So as silly as it is on their behalf they'll just have to resend out valid emails.

        • were you really early with your submission? I wonder why you got an email so early in comparison to me, when i submitted real early.

          • +1

@Alfonso: I think I was relatively early, was at 4 up votes at the time

  • +2

LOL, denied too via First Choice online receipt. Well, at least I get to give the unloved cheap family members when they visit Heineken beer as revenge.

  • I purchased the beer yesterday from FC.. also for the speaker! Submitted my claim with the Order number, and only realised the receipt came after picking up the beer. I tried to re-submit the claim on the basis the FAQs page states to resubmit if we've uploaded the wrong receipt, but the site did not let me, saying i've reached household max. So i email them the issue, and received a reply saying that both numbers (order number and receipt) are accepted, not long after, i received a rejection email. I just re submitted again with the receipt number….see how it goes..

    • mines approved!

      • How do you know it was approved? Did they send you the link to buy the speaker for $100?

        • Below is the email i got…clicked into the link, chose my preferred speaker colour and paid. Recieved confirmation along with a order number for the speaker straight after. Note that after the getting rejected once and re submitting i also called the 1800 number. They asked me to forward them the rejection email, attach receipt and make mention of the new claim ID. It was the approved on the same day.

          Dear xxxxxxxx

Thank you for submitting your claim in the Heineken Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 promotion.

          Your claim ID is: xxxxx

We are pleased to advise that this claim has been approved, and you can now redeem your special offer, by clicking here to make your purchase (while stocks last). Purchases cannot be processed after 22/11/2018.

Thank you for participating in our promotion.

          Kind regards,
          Heineken team

          • @le3lee: Do you mind letting me know if [email protected] is the email address you used to forward the new claim info?

            • @benjoon: Yes that's the email.

              • @le3lee: Thank you. Thanks again for sharing the process that you followed also. I'll try my luck

      • Lucky you.

    • +1

So you purchased yesterday and have already got to order the speaker.

Yet I submitted a claim 10 days ago and have heard SFA.

      Makes sense. 😕

  • +2

Has anyone's been approved yet and been able to pay?

The email I got after submitting says up to business days but the flyer I got in store advertising the promotion clearly says 48 hours…

  • +7

i have no received an email yet and i submitted on day 1. within 1 hour of ozbargain post!!

    • That makes at least 6 of us.

    • I have received nothing from them since submitting early on October 4.

  • I received an email from Heineken team saying my claim is invalid. No reason explained… If this is scam from Heineken. I will not buy anymore beers from them anymore….

  • Mine is invalid as well 😡
    Waiting to see what happens.

    Can anybody access the website?

  • I Just called them, apparently someone screwed up and sent everyone rejection emails. Easy sorted on the phone, you'll probably get a sorry email soon enough.

    • +15

This is the minimum wage intern I was warning you guys about on page 1 and page 2 and got down voted :-)

      • +2

        He sounded petty stressed out.

      • +1

        Sorry I doubted you.

    • How did you managed to call them? May you share what number you called?
Sorry never mind I found the number..

    • What is Lion PTY phone number, you know?

  • +1

They have added this in the terms and conditions. Not sure if it was there before:

    'Note:

    1. If you purchased online, you should upload your Tax Invoice, not your Order receipt, as generally the Tax invoice has all the details that are required to validate your claim.'

    Bahhahahahahah. Oh well, next time.

  • +3

The instructions originally said to upload your receipt, now they say to upload the tax invoice. I didn't get my tax invoice until 2 days after I paid online when I picked up the cartons, so when I registered wasn't even aware that more paperwork would be coming.

I love it when a promotion ends up hurting the brand more than helping it. I will certainly think twice about buying Heineken again after this ridiculous fiasco.

    • That's bullshit. Will be taking mine back for a refund on Monday and never buying that shit again unless it's for my financial gain.

  • Has ANYONE actually been lucky enough to get a positive conformation from Heineken?????

    • Only that guy who unpublished his last response

I watched 9 Youtube MegaBoom 3 Reviews for nothing. P.S. These speakers due to water proofing sounds quite terrible in the reviews. No treble or mid range, just hollow boomy sound. Majority of the $300 cost is in the rough-tumble and water proof outdoor design than decent sound engineering. Sounds more like $50 bluetooth speakers with the bass dialed way up.

I would highly recommend everyone go to their Facebook page and 1 star the shit out of them and make our voices heard. Changing the t&c is a dog move. Screw them.

    • -1

Finally I have a reason to make a Facebook account. Give me 30 mins to read up on it and open an account.

    • it’s even worse than you think.

When I got my tax invoice 2 days after my claim was submitted, I made contact using the promotion website and specifically asked them if they wanted the receipt or tax invoice. Their response was that I had to wait up to 10 days for my claim to be validated and if found invalid, I couldn’t fix it by supplying the required document… I had to submit a new claim.

Then 9 days after my original claim… BAM…rejected.

  • +1

The wrath of the Ozbargainers!! This website is more influential then Kanye or Trump!

  • +2

    Success!

After getting the original invalid message yesterday. I emailed them yesterday as per advised in above thread.

I just got an email saying I qualify for the speaker. Paid and now just a 4 week wait…

It should start rolling out for everyone else as well fingers crossed. Goodluck.

  • +2

    Finally Ordered the speakers. :)

Dropped an email to them after invalid claim email. Received an email 10 minutes back saying:
"Thank you for submitting your claim in the Heineken Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 promotion.

We are pleased to advise that this claim has been approved, and you can now redeem your special offer, by clicking here to make your purchase (while stocks last). Purchases cannot be processed after 22/11/2018.

Thank you for participating in our promotion."

    Email after payment:
"Congratulations! Your Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 purchase has been successful. Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive by mail."

    • Obviously it's not the same intern that looks after that inbox.

    • What did you say on your email? I did the same but got no response.

      • Just mentioned the claim id, invoice number & attached the invoice and asked them to reevaluate my claim.

    • Same. Hopefully, we will actually receive the speakers in 4 weeks lol

  • Mine just got approved. Just a note, take a screenshot of the new claim no after payment as it would have changed. My claim number is different to my initial claim number. Also do not order the black or ultra violet colour, was on the phone with the minimum wage intern and he advised black and ultra violet are super low in stock, for faster dispatch get the blue or red.

    • What do you mean by new claim? Did you resubmit?

  • Mine got approved as well.. just completed the purchase…. yay..!!!

  • Approved and paid after following process from rejection yesterday. Like saving a failed first date

  • My second application failed as well.

    Call centre is closed weekends.

    Just sent an email to:
    [email protected]

    • When did they respond to you?
Did you fill up the form again or just contacted the email?

      • Just the generic your submission was invalid.

I submitted a second time after reading “glitch” in these posts.

Anyways, submitted a third and emailed the email above.

      • I should add, they’re going through submissions quite quickly. I submitted again yesterday 2:30pm and denied at 11:30am this morning.
        Wondering if it’s xomputer

  • +1

picked up my beers and sent my claim within 2 hours of seeing the ozbargain post and I'm yet to receive a rejected or accepted claim email. Seems like a well set up promo thats for sure lol

    • I’m in the same boat as you.. I tried re-submitting a new one but it wouldn’t accept it and says ‘only one claim per househould’. I hope we don’t miss out..

    • Check your junk/spam mail folder.

      • +1

I have and definitely haven’t received anything..

  • My first submission failed. I spoke to them and they took all details and said they would resolve. I heard nothing from them after that so thought I’d try submitting a 2nd time with the original receipt. Got an approved email a couple of hours later and purchased the speaker. The approved claim # was the 2nd one so I’d suggest to anyone not having luck from the first claim to try a new claim with original receipt.

    • That's crap.

So they're ignoring all the submissions from 10 days ago and processing new ones.

Sounds like they lost all the early submissions .

      Looks like I should resubmit

      • Not sure if that’s the case or not but I wanted to make sure I got one so tried another claim and it seemed to work. Good luck

  • I am yet to receive any email after the original claim one with the ID. Should I be re-submitting it or just waiting?

  • Just got Approved email. Ordered, but not before the website timed out out on me first attempt :(

    • How long after you made the initial claim did you have to wait for the approved email?

  • Got the rejection email yesterday and resubmitted claim straight away, and emailed address above.
Got approval email at 10:25am today.
…and hit new post instead of reply :/

  • My brother submitted on the 3rd Oct, but still haven't received any reply..

    • If he used the online order receipt, he will have to resubmit with the Tax Invoice receipt instead.

      • No it was purchased in-store. Submitted just 15 mins after purchased.

    • +1

Same here (3rd of October). No rejection email therefore I can't resubmit. Especially ridiculous that people who submitted later are getting confirmation emails.

      I have a feeling I won't be getting a speaker.

      • But hasn't it been over the 10 days? You should be able to at least give them a call?

        • +1

Yep, emailed them a few days ago with no reply. Called them just then, was told to email again.

  • +1

4 Oct - Bought 2 Heineken cases @ First Choice online

6 Oct - Invoice arrived in email

6 Oct - Submitted claim with online receipt

12 Oct - Rejected claim email

12 Oct - Submitted new claim with tax invoice

13 Oct - Received approved claim email

    13 Oct - Ordered speaker

  • Anyone else received anything yet? I haven't.

    • Nope still waiting…

    • me too still waiting! - i have a bad feeling i am going to miss out and i am peeved off

      • -1

Not a huge cop out. Mate has this speaker. Speaker is quite average in sound quality unless you just like boomy bass with no mids or clear vocals. Even for $180 with free beer it's overpriced for it's sound quality. I wish they made a non water proof version with clearer audio.

        • Sounds just perfect for my 14yo for a Christmas present. I'll keep the Heineken though :)

          • @tonydav: Yup, that was my deducing method too. Cheap Christmas gift for my tech crazy kid's. They will think it's $300.

            • @dreamscene: Unless they’ve been secretly drinking alcohol behind your back and got in on the deal too!

            • @dreamscene: Yep no intention of telling him it was only $100! Well assuming it actually goes through it will be about $180 (with me getting two free cases of Heineken 3)

  • +1

For what it's worth, I heard from one of the Lion peeps on the phone that the cases of Heineken aren't exactly flying off the shelves and shouldn't worry about missing out on a speaker. They've over-subscribed to allow for the promotion to continue to 31 October. However, please take with an appropriately-sized grain of salt. I'll believe it when I have one in my hands.

  • Just got a call from Heineken. I've been informed that if you ordered online and you had used your order number then you need to put in the invoice number and put in the claim form again.

    • How do you get your invoice number? I didn't get an invoice. They just left two cartons on the doorstep.

      • @tonydav If you ordered online you should have received two emails. One was the order confirmation (the one you don't need) and the other one is the despatch which containd a PDF with your invoice (that's what you need).

        • Looks like the despatch e-mail went astray as didn't get an invoice attachment. I contacted them and they've sent it to me. I've forwarded this to that earlier e-mail address and also resubmitting the claim.

    • Same here. Asked her if I have to wait up to another 10 days and was told yes. I'll just make sure to return the beer before the 30 days return is over. Was against this duck move before but this is bs.

  • +3

I bought from a store and submitted my claim the day of this ozbargain post. Haven't got a accepted/declined email yet. Rang the Lion promo number up in the description and they said they will have everyones emails out by tomorrow apparently.

    • +2

I would resubmit your receipt with a new claim. I submitted claim on 2nd day available, got rejection email about a week later, called asking why and was told they'd look into it and resolve the issue. Never heard back from them so submitted same photo of receipt in a 2nd claim. Received approval email about an hour later and manged to order speaker… Today i finally got a call back from them saying the reason they denied the initial claim was because "apparently they couldn't read the receipt properly" and they suggested i submit a new claim with new photo of the receipt. That was rubbish as the photo was crystal clear and the exact same photo i used in the 2nd claim. They were just making excuses.

      • I can't resubmit it it just comes up with "Sorry but you have reached the maximum of one claim per household."
