Casio G-Shock Watch DW-5600BB-1ER $95.13 (20% off) Delivered @ TicTacArea

120

Have been keeping an eye on a few places for the blackout version of the classic DW5xxx series. After missing 2 decent ebay promo codes, I couldn't bring myself to pay $125 from ebay vendors, then stumbled across this.
Site has good reviews. Probably best price I've seen on this g-shock since ordering from Amazon.com was quashed. Hopefully postage isn't too slow.
Edit- You may be able to find a coupon code somewhere, I was too quick to pull the trigger before bothering to look.

  • Thanks OP. Been looking at a G shock blackout watch (mainly the gx56bb, but it seems too large on my wrist) but haven't pulled the trigger so I'll look for discount coupons and get this.

    • I bought a knock-off GX56 years ago to test the size, and it was certainly too big for me (glad I didn't fork out for the real deal). I've owned 3 previous DW5600's and regret selling them; I like the features of my GD350 but again, it's a little big for an everyday watch imo.

      • P.S. Can't seem to use coupon tho', we'll see…

        • Yes, I don't see how to input a coupon? If anybody figures it out please post.

  • Excellent post mate. I was going to post this a while ago but forgot. TicTacArea is legit. Shipping is a little slow though, but it's the cheapest I found available on this watch. It has been this price (with the 20% discount) for about six weeks from memory. You won't have to pay any GST either.

(Here the TicTacArea thread on WatchUSeek](https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/tictac-area-com-anyone-dea…)

Instead, I pick up the LE G-Shock DW-5600HR-1CR with the upgraded strap with red inside the watch strap. Very similar, just not totally blacked out.

  • I lost my beloved GD350-1B on a climbing trip over the long weekend so was in the market for a new watch. Thanks heaps for this post!

GWM5600 is a much nicer watch in every way

As always, it's subjective. I didn't hold on to that one too long, but also didn't lose any money on it either.
If the gwm5600 is one you're looking at, I can't see how a dw5600bb would even be a consideration. Aside from base shape, they're completely different watches and aesthetics, not the least of which is the negative display

Different watch for different needs/wants. Solar vs battery, multiband 5 vs no frills, positive vs negative display, black vs black and red. Those massive round G-shocks on the hand…they look like the watch is wearing the wrist. Just get the one you like with the features you need.

        'black vs black & red'?

there are probably 30 models in the GWM5600 series.

        • Whatever mate. You missed the point.

Nice find Op. Some might prefer the positive display solar version for approx $20.00 more -

    Casio G-Shock Solar G5600E-1 $110.98 - 5% P5OFF = $105.43 + gst shipped

    • G5600 series vs DW5600 series .. different watches.

      • I've got the Skmei 1134 version. It's awesome.

        • 10% off eBay code available on the 8th Oct thanks to TA here.

        • Thanks for letting us know.

I have a dw5600 f. It's the watch I wear when I'm worried any other might get damaged. One of the greatest advantages of this watch is that the glass is recessed; they just never get scratched. Light weight, a light for night. Useful features and nothing you don't need.

I also got my momentum steelix today. Beautiful watch. It has the best screw down crown of all my watches (it actually screws quite a way). I can read the date easy (can't on the others). Nato strap. And the crown is properly protected by the watch frame.

    • Hi pooduck, can you leave a review on my post please? Maybe you could add a wrist shot, cheers.

Also just a tip - I've read that you can get around 10 years out of the battery in the G-Shock DW5600 by rarely using the backlight.

Done :) I only use the back light when I have to and won't begrudge replacing any batteries on any watches :)

  • Bought it at this price 3 months ago from here. Great watch. Couldn't find any coupon codes back then.

  • Got some weird tracking going on with this one, geez I'm impatient.
Auspost giving me a different update compared to direct tracking from the seller (which says "item is being returned to sender unable to process").
I'm not nervous in any way, but I'll be annoyed if I don't receive it and have to get a refund.

    • What happened with your order? Mine is taking a very long time too.

        It's in Sydney now.
Slow postage, however I was warned by ilikeit lol

      • Came back to this post to check if people were having the same issue. Good to know I'm not the only one. I haven't even gotten a tracking number for my order yet.

        • I am the same

          • @Nucky: I emailed them asking the situation and they posted the watch the following day. Hope to get it in a week or 2 now.

            • @Wickedwings: They just posted it? You didnt get an email from them from the get go?

They sent me an email weeks ago saying its on its way but it has been a month and no delivery yet. There was a shipping number but its close to useless as not Australian.

              • @Nucky: No I didnt. I had an order confirmation and payment received email but no item dispatched email.

            • @Wickedwings: Hey man, so I did the same, then got the same response as you too. So I think the email I was talking about before, it was a process confirmation, but they sent me a tracking thing on their website anyway.
