You'll need a working flux capacitor.

  • +4

    That'll do pig…that'll do.

  • Bugger, i just bought a Lenovo laptop 2 days ago.

    • if you bought using a card with shopper's protection you might be able to get it back via that

  • will the code still work, if you bought something today and pay for it tomorrow?

    • +2

Yes, if instant payment isn't required

  • Targeted or for everyone?

  • has anyone tried to stack a targeted coupon with something like this coupon? i have a targeted coupon but its not giving me a discount on ebay gift cards.

    • +3

Coupon codes don't stack. Coupon Code + Gift Card Code can be stacked.

      • What does this mean, If I use the code Pumpkin I see a 10% off applied, after which it allows me apply my ebay gift cards to get the amount down to $0, but then it rejects the whole transaction with an "invalid code" message which I cannot understand why.

  • Thanks TA.

Was gonna buy something today but thought I would hold out for a code in the next couple of days

    • +1

      Don't think eBay sells beef.

  • Hey guys. I want to buy a pc from futu with 20%off. It cost $700. So can I buy gift card with -10% here and buy the pc. It wanna be total nearly 30% off

    • +2

No, code wouldn't work on gift cards

      • -4

The alternative would be buying wish gift card for 5% off through cash rewards and buying an eBay gift card from Woolies or bigw.

        • +1

          Doesn't work anymore :(

    • -1

I think this can be done based on the discussion above.

      • +1

No, he wants to use 10% code to buy gift cards. They are excluded. Won't work.

      • Nope. Doesn't work anymore.

  • Does anyone know if this works on auctions too? As in auction ending tonight but I make the payment tomorrow?

    • +3

Yes it works as long as its not in exclusion categories.

  • +3

    Cart is loaded

    • +4

Same. Looks like I should have bought a few more gift cards than I did.

      • +1

        same.
even with these gift-cards lasting 3+ years,
        i bought 2 x lots of AU$ 500 , but i am still craving for more

  • Does officeworks pricebeat ebay with 10%?

  • Should i buy the OP6 now? $660 roughly on ebay with the discount for the 128gb

    • 6t coming out soon

      • OP6 128gb for $660 is crazy cheap. Last I saw, catch had it for around 775$. I doubt the 6T will be available at launch for under 800 aud so pretty good deal imo

  • I have an auction I'm watching ending an hour before this deal - I don't suppose if I win the item and pay after 10 I can get the deal??

    • +1

It should work. No harm waiting until after 10 to try anyway.

    • +2

Yes you can, just wait till the code becomes active and then pay for the item

    • Maybe let the seller know too so they don't panic.

      • +2

Nah, its a minor delay. You're allowed 3 days (more?) to pay. If your seller is that bad, they are an ass.

I say this as a top rated / power seller.

  • Any bargain nintendo switch joycons? Need them for Super Mario Party…
Bought two JYS wireless the night before release, only to find out the game is not compatible with Pro Controllers :(

  • Great. Happens days before my $400 purchase is about to arrive.

If I buy something now and pay tomorrow, would that work?

    • +1

finally, there is a good question in this thread

    • +1

Yes you can, as long as they dont require immediate payment.

      • Does that also include "make an offer" purchases?

        • +1

Yes, you can use a coupon on make an offer.
Only ones which doesn't work is any auction / purchase that requires immediate payment (e.g. you HAVE to pay right NOW, which means you cannot use the coupon).

So basically any of the following will work:
          1. Win an Auction before coupon code comes out
          2. Make an offer and win the item before coupon code comes out
          3. Buy it now before a coupon code comes out

That's how i load up the best savings, take advantage of Make an Offer or Auctions before a coupon code comes up, so you aren't scrambling in trying to get offers on the day. Because some sellers take ages to accept offers.

Sometimes Make an Offer screws with the cart though, so you may just be stuck with having to waste 1 transaction to pay for the Make an Offer item. I have found that if you use Make an OFfer and win it, then you try to add a few more buy it now items to the cart and try to pay for them all at once, it would give you an error saying "Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.". If you tried to pay for Buy it now separately then pay for Make an Offer it works.

  • Perfect timing. Being awaiting one.

    • They need wait no more!

  • Will it work with auctions won and paid during promo period.

    • Yes.

  • Hope there will be robot vacuum cleaner deals :)

    • -1

that's what women are for :)

      • If you've found a good deal for women, you should post it here.

        • women are never a good deal in the long run. use discount code NEUROTIC to ease the financial pain. 10% off.

  • That just sucks! Max discount $100?!I want to buy a >$3k scanner!!! Blah😝

  • looking at getting a laptop as mine has cracked the screen

Anyone had any luck with an ebay seller with refurbished lenovo thinkpads!

    Thank you

  • Well that's weird. The $348 item I put in my cart last night is now $359. Not happy Jan.

edit: oh nevermind. I just found a cheaper one.

  • I can't apply the code. It saids 'We ran into a problem. Please try again later.'

    • dont run but walk

      • If it's like the bug on my account it's because you have a mix of overseas and local items in your basket. Been a problem for a month now, don't know why they can't fix it.

  • Promo runs for 14 hours only

    why not 12 or 24?

    • +1

      12 < 14.

    • Maybe the person in eBay is Chinese and it is a insider joke to the community. Since '14' in Chinese (cantonese) has a associated meaning "definite death" since it sounds very similar when you say 14 in Cantonese.

Since this is a halloween event, maybe it does make sense that there is a hidden connotation. or maybe i'm just overthinking it. lol.

  • +1

Aaaand there goes $800. That's enough eBay for today I think :>

  • Any good deals going on DJI spark fly more combos?

I had a quick look and they all seem a bit higher than previous deals posted here..

  • +1

"This code can't be applied to your order"
Why do I keep getting this? First it was with the 5% off and now 10%. The items in my cart aren't excluded.

    • Getting the same thing here. Cart is loaded ready to go.

Any ideas on what is happening?

    • Did you change your eBay location to the US for the recent promos?

      • Not my main account. I just created a new account and was able to apply the discount on the exact same items so its got to be something to do with my account.

      • Mine was UK but i thought i changed back to AU site long ago.. when will it start taking codes again?

        • I could be wrong but perhaps eBay have done this intentionally to stop people jumping from region to region to exploit codes?

          • +1

@Clear: Yup. Looks like they may be flagging accounts.

    • Jump on to eBay chat and have them check why.

  • I almost missed it! almost used the 5% voucher, and yet, almost. Thank you TA, I saved $80 more than what I expected

    • Wait what - by using this voucher instead of the 5% voucher - you saved an additional 5% - and that's capped at $100 - how could you have saved $580?

      • Typo, already fixed it, but I do wish I could save that much

  • Can anyone point me to a good deal for the Nvidia Shield?

  • The good guys had 'Seagate 2886338 2TB Expansion Portable HDD' for $79 which I was going to buy today and this morning it's suddenly $88. Gee I wonder why.

    • +2

      Gee I wonder why.

Because the weekend catalogue ended. This was specifically stated in their email they sent out on saturday.

      • my bad, I thought I end on the 9th.

  • +1

Just redeemed mine on a OnePlus 6 128gb and a case and screen protector. Decent discount! Thanks TA.

    • Which case? I've had an OP6 for a while and am in need.

      • +1

I went with the Spigen Rugged Armor

        • +2

I'm another Spigen fan here. I'm a fan of their Hybrid Range, saved my S9+ and iPhone 7 plus so many times. Dropped it plenty of times, and sometimes even on asphalt / concrete. Plenty of scratches and dints on the case, but haven't had phones damaged and once you take it off the phone is still as new.

I've got mates who diss me for using a case, they are like why add the bulk, its supposed to be thin. Then a few weeks later they smash their screen or back panel…. and im secretly thinking "Yes that's exactly why i use a good case"

Like your parents teach you….. Never leave home without protection or you are risking an accident.

        • +1

Ah yes Spigen. They're always good at making slim rugged cases. I might just have to.

  • Does anyone know why Kogan item isn't applicable for 10% discount?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kogan-34-WQHD-Curved-21-9-Ultraw…

I can't figure out why it's not applying the 10% discount?

    • works fine for me…. i think its your account. It has been reported that switching backwards and forwards between the different countries with your account may put it in a state that screws with some coupon codes. Maybe that is why.

  • Anybody else having the same issue as i am? Every time i try to add more than 6 items into my cart, it will error on me when i try to check out.
The 7th item seems to cause the error for me.

Allows me to add the 7th item but just causes the issue when you attempt to check out.

    • +4

This is a bug that has been ignored since the tax modifications (I've passed it on to them twice but no one seems to be interested in fixing it). If an item in your cart is from an overseas supplier (i.e. from China), this invokes the new tax modifications.

I've tested this many times using different suppliers and different items.

      • If all of your items are from overseas then you can add five suppliers (it doesn't matter how many individual items you buy from each as they are grouped together under the one supplier) and the checkout will work okay.

      • If you add six or more overseas suppliers, the checkout will fail, and you will receive the error message that your payment options need revising. Don't bother trying to revise them as this is not actually the problem and nothing you do will allow you to checkout.

      • If some of your suppliers are local and some are overseas then you may get away with adding two or three overseas ones to your cart. It seems that when you mix local ones with overseas ones, you can't even get away with five overseas suppliers.

      • If all of your suppliers are local then you'll be able to add 10 suppliers when using the code, or more without it.

Also, expect some unconfirmed transactions in your bank account when you get the error messages. There will be no trace on eBay or Paypal for these transactions, but they will never be confirmed and will be removed in seven days time. These are random so you may get some or maybe not.

Also, and I notice that some people seem to agree with the way this is done, but I don't, tax on all overseas transactions is calculated on the full undiscounted price. So, if you buy two items and get a discount on the second item, the discount comes out after the tax has been calculated. That is NOT how GST works in Australia.

By the way, it's a shame that this code can only be used twice. Because of this tax bug, I had to use someone else's account to make additional purchases using the code because I couldn't get anywhere near the 10 items allowed for each. I wish they'd employ coders who knows what they are doing. :S :)

The anatomically-incorrect spider figure on eBay's website reminds me of this fun correspondence.

  • Can anyone confirm whether I can use gift cards I purchased on one eBay account on my other eBay account?
    Thx

  • +2

"We ran into a problem. Please try again later"

    • having the sane issue

    • Spent 15 minutes on the phone with support about this, apparently it's an Australian-only coupon, so if you're registered on the US site you're not entitled to it.

I take it that means we're entitled to the US discount coupons instead though ;)

  • Anyone know if you can use discounts when you make a seller an offer, and they accept it? Does it add to cart?

    • yes after offer accepted you click checkout and at the payment options screen scroll to bottom and type in the discount code. Problem is sale is over and its not even midnight yet here in Brisbane. Damn forgot it was daylight savings.

      • Ah damn, no one responded by the time I bought the rest of my cart. Thanks for replying though, at least I know for next time.
