Successfully price matched with Officeworks over the phone on 11/10/2018 10:30am
Sorry, I didn't ask for other colour availability with OW.

It should be eligible to claim the Bonus JBL Duet NC Headphones from Samsung.

Price Beat Guarantee (PBG) formula:

  • Mymobile price $1,097
  • OW price $1,497
  • Final price $1,097 - ($1,097 * 5%) = $1,042.15

Note: Price match by Officeworks isn't guaranteed as this is a different model and therefore a different product (dual sim vs single sim).
Update: OW has different model, but it was dual sim model.

    Mind to share the receipt?

    • The lady on the phone confirmed my details and my AMEX card.
She said that the transaction will be forwarded to the store manager for final authorisation.
I'm still waiting for the store to notify me when can I pick up the phone.

So your order isn't finalised yet?

        • Not straight away. Have to called them again to confirm.
          Order finalised after 3 hours.

      • +1

They usually send an email confirmation. Did they send you one?

        • I called Officework at around 12:30pm to check the status of my order. Got my email confirmation of my order around 1:00pm and then email and SMS to collect my order on 1:22pm.
Just came back from Officeworks to pick up the phone.
          Here is the receipt

          • @dayak1988: Damn Already ordered from eBay/Goodguys.

Any Chance I can get the Invoice without black bars? I can try and get eBay price promise since Officeworks is cheaper in store or Goodguys price promise.

            • @El Grande: @El Grande Sorry mate. I'm not comfortable sharing more information on the invoice.

Different model but you got lucky. OW has N960F and this one is N9600. They didn't match with one of Samsung Note 9 N960FD model saying it was different. This was over store tho. Anyway, good bargain OP. Cheers

    • It doesn't hurt to try :-)
I think you have better chance if you price match over the phone.

  • Incredible price

  • +1

I know Note 9 Aus stocks are dual sim but the model sold by OW is not dual sim. You got lucky, or maybe I should try calling first instead of in store price match.

    • +2

They do have dual sim for Note 9, but different model number. No loss in trying. Cheers

      OW model is dual sim

      • single and dual

  • Incredible price match if it's not a once off!

  • Yep, if you pulled that off, well done!

    • My order is finalised and dispatched in 3 hours. Must be my lucky day! (Actually it's my wife's lucky day, cause it's her late birthday present)

    Hi OP,
Don't forget to claim the free JBL Headphone

  • +3

Sorry op. But I've tried just then, couldn't price beat. Different part no. You got lucky.

  • Officeworks won't price match/beat HK online shop pricing. It's enough of a nightmare having them price beat local stores like MSY, let alone some HK outfit.

  • my local ow won't match it, they said its grey import and not eligible for the discount :(

    • that is why you call them, and as long as the model number is the exact same, it will be beaten

  • i tried calling, no love - took the lady 60secs - no sorry, grey importer :(

    • I thought they match grey importers now as of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399699

      • They simply removed the cloudiness that is warranty in the policy. Still necessary to be the same model and contents as far as I can tell. I think that post blew the changes out of proportion.

      • That was my understanding but they lady on the phone kept repeating it was import stock and they would not match. I gave up - her English wasn't great and I doubt I was making any headway in putting forward my case (especially knowing the model nos were different) - so i just said thanks, bye

      • They are just matching now regardless of what type of warranty the other retailer is offering.

It still has to be exact same stock. Same model number etc. Sometimes the website may not display the model no. Or the staff may miss it when checking. So it goes through.

    • this is different model. ofw is single sim.

      • Just pick up my Note 9. It's dual SIM model SM-N960F/DS

  • +2

Is all Officeworks stock single sim?

Op can you please share your receipt? It will help in getting a price match.

    • -1

Read the 2nd post, OP's order hasn't been confirmed yet making this one useless deal post.

      • Hope not getting cancelled

      • +1

My order is confirmed and dispatched in about 3 hours. I shared my receipt on my comments above.
I should've wait until it is confirmed before I made this post.
I just got too excited and want to share the news with OZB community straight away.

  • Would OW honour its own receipt as a price match?

  • +1

Can confirm this does work, called up and they specifically stated the frequencies were different to indicate they're different models but OW doesn't list the frequencies on their website so i said it was and he did 5 minutes of checking and said ok. Got into the store and the guy hadn't been told but looked it up and straight away said ok

    • +1

@stewzor Glad someone else got lucky as well.

      • yeah, cheers mate for the fantastic price. My old phone was on its last legs

  • +1

Price is even cheaper now, they've dropped it to $1062 for a $1008.90 pricematch

    • Which store did you buy from? I am tempted to return my good guys one for a refund. I still haven't collected it.

      • I went to the brisbane city store, I can't really do that, plus it's only 30 bucks

        • I got it for $1199.20 so it's almost $200 but I called Officeworks and its a no go. They said the following:

          1) Grey imports are fine BUT The stock needs to be onshore in Australia. It ships from Hong Kong.
          2) Different model number.
          3) Although they are registered for GST, since it's shipped from overseas GST will be paid by me (which is BS)

          • @El Grande: that's what i'm afraid of, paying double GST and heard a lot of complain about getting second hand instead of brand new phone.

Can you repost the receipt from ow again with a better image as it's blurry and want to give it ago with showing them that receipt as evidence

  • +1

So what do you call and say?

  • Tried 3 OW stores today around Sydney for no joy at all! Almost had one sales rep agree to terms but I stupidly said I'll be back as they didn't have the colour I wanted. When I went back there the staff member was different and said it can't be done due to the warranty being different.

Has anybody in Sydney had any luck with a specific OW or strategy? REALLY want this phone but I can't pay much more than $1000 at the moment. Really growing impatient waiting for a reasonable outright price or Optus to release a decent plan through Harvey Norman again.

    • Nah… cannot price match in officeworks around Sydney too..

  • Can you share a better copy of the receipt as the one shared it too blur/pixelated
    Thank
