  • I was going to comment that I like your post’s title with the 📺 symbol, but a mod just removed it :(

    • Blame the iPad 📲

      • I wonder what the emoticon/ emoji looks like on the pc? 🖥💾💻

      why did they remove emojis?

      i did Nazi that coming

  • Delivery fee varies with postcode. Title has been edited.

    • Was $54.94 for many postcodes I tried. Remote/WA may be more?

      • $159.89 to Darwin NT 0800, my gold standard location :-)

        • $160.32 to FNQ (and the local seldom has stock for click and collect). I'm surprised Darwin's cheaper.

  • What's this like compared with Samsung QLED ?

    • Not as good…

      • +1

But how "not as good" is it?

    • Samsung makes some of the best screens in all industries (mobile, desktop & laptop and TVs) while TCL is TCL…

      • yeah but is it like a Samsung panel with shittier processing or something ?

        • QLED is proprietary Samsung tech, so may be old Samsung panels?

  • I watched Ellen spruik and give away two of these on her show today. Coincidence?

    • Sadly TCL USA models are different to Aus versions and generally superior

  • +2

Does this actually qualify for the $150 cashback. T&C’s state ebay does not meet criteria for a “Purchase”.

    • You should get a Good Guys Invoice for the pre-coupon price.

  • Correct, $150 Cashback is NOT valid.

    “Purchase” does not mean:
    (d) purchases via eBay or similar online third-party internet websites;
    (e) second hand products; or
    (f) purchases made in conjunction with any other TCL offer

    • can't we get an invoice from good guys when we collect the TV, and use that invoice for the claim.

      • Yes, you should get that. I got previously with a washing machine deal bought the same way.

  • I'm planning to get the Hisense 65P7 but this looks like another option. Does anyone have any info comparing the two? There's not many reviews of this TCL online.

    • +1

Android OS is probably the main difference.

    • +3

I've got one it's a solid box, android system is actually OK, no lag really, it's not without its faults although, Oreo update should fix a few issues, picture calibration in the settings is a little basic, but hdr, 4k is solid, all controls are on the rights hand side looking at the TV, that suits my set up.

      • +2

Thanks for the info. I just pulled the trigger on this lol. Cheers man :)

  • How's the boot time? Does fast boot work as I note it doesn't work on other TCL TV's.

    • +1

Fast boot has been working fine. It starts up like a normal TV.. after few seconds. I'm really impressed with the TV overall (that's coming for a Plasma). I was hesitant on TCL after reading the previous reviews but, it's been great!
